Got my static smiley/peak fertility tonight! Plan is to dtd tonight and tomorrow night. Then we wait...

Here's a TMI question... Positions? Do you do specific ones to optimise chances??

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 09/08/2018 18:33

I don’t think there’s any that optimise chances, just as long as it goes where it’s supposed to 😂

BasinHaircut · 09/08/2018 18:36

alicepol I’m the same as you plus one day then. We DTD Tues and Weds and got pos OPK on Weds. now we are away and can’t DTD again til Saturday which will be too late. I am also hoping we have lucked out with timing, I ovulated a bit later than I’d thought I would.

8days we don’t do specific positions as we are trying to keep the pressure off so we just go with the flow. I do believe that the theory of needing to be in a certain position has been disproved though. (FYI one on top and one on bottom this week though Wink)

purplestar9 · 09/08/2018 19:29

@8DaysAWeek have you heard of any specific positions that improve chances? I admit I'm not overly adventurous, we do tend to stick to the same few positions! (Even change half way through sometimes! Haha)

8DaysAWeek · 09/08/2018 19:37

Well we're onto cycle 5 and I've been thinking about why we've not conceived yet. They say the most common reason is bad timing (assuming no fertility issues), but looking back at all my charts I'm 99% positive timing isn't the issue. I know there's loads of reasons outwith my control, but I'm wondering if position is the issue. We always finish with me on top. And while most websites say there's no proof that position is a factor, they also say that positions like doggy, spooning or missionary are theoretically better as they get the spermies to where the need to be better. Also, I guess gravity may play some part? So we're switching it up a bit this month just to see what happens!!

purplestar9 · 09/08/2018 19:50

@8DaysAWeek I guess there's no harm in trying! I'm pretty sure our problem has been our timing, my cycle started out being longer than I originally thought which meant by using my app's prediction of ovulation was wrong, I've been ovulating almost a week later than I thought! I think I'm more on track this cycle though!

8DaysAWeek · 09/08/2018 19:53

@purplestar9 that's good you've worked that out now though! And no, won't hurt to try 😂

alicepol · 09/08/2018 21:31

I ovulated earlier than I always thought so it may be a timing thing. Although i am pretty sure weve always managed in the fertile week still.
I had my implant out in February and while some say it happens straight away, some say it takes 6 months to get out if your system so I'm hoping now we're up to the 6 month mark that will help!
We are also quite boring with positions and mainly stick to the same few, although this cycle came with some kitchen BD 😂🙈

8DaysAWeek · 09/08/2018 21:35

Ooh the kitchen!! How exotic. We BD on the couch a couple of cycles back as DS was sleeping in our bed. It was bloody uncomfy. Well that's tonight's action over, mixed it up a little at the end lol and here I am with a pillow under my bum. So happy I have you ladies to share this stuff with 😂

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 09/08/2018 21:46

@8daysaweek that was me on Saturday 😂 pillow under the bum and legs up the wall!!!
I did try to do a shoulder stand, even though the last (and only) time I did one was in 1999 when my mum forced me to go to her yoga class with her.

purplestar9 · 09/08/2018 21:52

I love hearing all of this from all of you, makes me feel slightly less crazy! 😂
Also, I love the fact that we are all treated as equals on this site, people around me see me as being so young and because I'm the youngest in my family (and whole generation), it even makes me feel really young too!

8DaysAWeek · 09/08/2018 21:53

We're all in it together ladies 😁

Lol a shoulder stand though. That's impressive.

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 09/08/2018 22:08

I said I tried, not that I succeeded 😂😂😂

@purplestar9 we’re all the same! I bet Kate Middleton has had her legs up the wall at some stage.

TheMagicTorch · 09/08/2018 22:31

@TheHalfBloodPrincess oh my goodness I lose track of which threads I've updated 🙈 i caved so early and tested Tuesday morning (10dpo i think) and this happened...
Got another strong line Wednesday morning then didn't test today (not willpower purely because I had to go for a wee during the night).
AF is/was due Saturday so still a little nervous after my previous chemical but these lines definitely look darker than the chemical were so I'm hopeful!

Starting 2ww once again! Who's with me?
TheHalfBloodPrincess · 09/08/2018 22:57

Congratulations! I’m so happy for you, and 🤞 everything goes well!

8DaysAWeek · 09/08/2018 23:09

Congrats!!! Lovely line 😁

purplestar9 · 10/08/2018 07:13

Yay congratulations @TheMagicTorch :)

alicepol · 10/08/2018 07:14

Congrats @themagictorch that's amazing news and a great line!
Maybe this thread will start getting a bit luckier!

TheMagicTorch · 10/08/2018 07:33

Thank you so much everyone! I was pleasantly surprised! This was the line this morning so I'm feeling really positive ❤ baby dust for everyone else hopefully a lucky thread!

Starting 2ww once again! Who's with me?
MissNena · 10/08/2018 08:15

Congratulations @TheMagicTorch!

My App says my predicted O day was weds but have had negative opks, I had a 33day cycle last month instead of the usual 27/28 days like normal, so looks as though it’s going to be the same this month. Will keep going with the opks and see if I eventually get a positive.

Newbie21 · 10/08/2018 08:41

Congratulations @TheMagicTorch amazing line.

BasinHaircut · 10/08/2018 15:17

Congrats magictorch.

This was a lucky thread last cycle for quite a few so hopefully the same this month.

I’m only 2DPO so far too early to even start symptom spotting but I swear my nipples were agony this morning!

8DaysAWeek · 10/08/2018 22:13

Yeah I remember it got off to a great start then it all went downhill for the rest of us :(

I think that's me in the 2ww now!

Do you think that could be an O symptom basin? I've noticed the past few months that the day of/after O I'm exhausted and nauseous. Very much like morning sickness. I wonder if it's to do with the sharp rise in progesterone.

8DaysAWeek · 10/08/2018 22:14

Also I don't know why my phone picks and chooses when it will post in paragraphs and when it won't so apologies if my replies are one big long text. Hate when that happens.

BasinHaircut · 11/08/2018 07:10

I don’t know 8days maybe?? I’m trying not to think about it though as I don’t want to send myself round the twist googling everything Grin

Where are we all this cycle? I think I’m 2-3DPO, based on positive OPK on weds morning.
