Here's the new thread. This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle- this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Kicking off with a roll call:

Age: 35
TTC #2
DS 2.5
MMC at 10 weeks in December 2017. Ectopic rupture in November 2016.

Hi, hope it’s ok to join.
I’m 37
Ttc#4
Had mmc in April at 11 weeks (baby 7/8 weeks)
Cd16

Feel ready to try again.

I’ve had 2 periods since mmc.

This cycle I’ve been using opks and taking bbt but I’m not sure I know what I’m doing.

I had a positive opk yesterday at 6pm which is now negative. Also had menstral cramps last night (which I’ve never had pre mc)
Does it mean I’ve ovulated? About to? It’s so confusing.

I’m not sure the bbt is accurate - my ‘usual’ time to take is at 7:30 but this past few weeks Ive been waking at all different times due to 1 year old dc being unsettled (vaccinations/teething/weather I guess) but there was a small dip this morning. I’ve added my chart to see if anyone can hazard a guess.

Thanks a lot, and sorry to be ‘meeting’ you all as part of this horrible club.

@kintan I had a natural miscarriage and bleeding tapered off after 2 weeks, with the last few days being spotting/tinged discharge.

Sorry for your loss x

Blondcat · 10/07/2018 08:35

@redrobin7 so sorry you are going through this as others have said we are here for whatever you need. Penguin huddle support all the way.

MisBit1 · 10/07/2018 08:35

@HelloViroids @Angelbabyollie @kintan @TheHalfBloodPrincess so sorry you all find yourselves here. I bled for about 7 days after my miscarriage and my first AF was 35 days after so a week later than my regular cycle so hopefully you won’t have to wait too long @Angelbabyollie

@TheHalfBloodPrincess it sounds like you might have had ovulation pains I think you ovulate within 12-48hrs of your positive opk so JKS! I’m not so sure on the temping but an expert will be along soon.

@redrobin7 I’m so sorry you’re going through all this again it’s just not fair but it’s absolutely not your fault. I hope your scan brings you closure really don’t worry about bleeding, they’re used to it. If you’re physically up for it it sounds like the dog training will be a good distraction and a wonderful thing you’re doing to help others too.

@happysbno4 I think AF post miscarriage tends to be a bit weird. It was in my experiences. I think your body just has a good clear out.

@Martydog sorry you’re having a tough time hugs to you.

@Tedlife fingers crossed you’re going to be celebrating!

@laney glad you had a good weekend.

@MrsLCW I hope all goes well on Friday I’m beginning to understand that anxiety.

I hope I haven’t missed anyone. Hugs to all those who need them.

MisBit1 · 10/07/2018 08:41

I hope you don’t mind I’ve put this in a separate post because I didn’t want to upset anyone by tagging them in it.

I think I have a dodgy batch of ICs the line was a teeny bit darker but still barely there so I broke out my CBs. I know this will make me sound an absolute nutter but I didn’t want to use a FRER because I used them with both my losses but with my DS I only used a CB (and only did 2 tests throughout the whole pregnancy - totally mad!).

Anyway there’s no doubting this so now I need to figure out what to do about school and the slapped cheek outbreak.

@RedRobin7 I'm so so sorry again. All the other girls have said what I was going to say too but I agree go to the scan. Don't worry about the blood, they are used to it. Good luck with the dog training and defi go home if it's too much. I'm sure they'll understand. Sending you lots of virtual hugs.
@Kintan welcome and sorry for your loss. I had an ERPC and didn't bleed after but ovulated about 3 weeks later.
@TheHalfBloodPrincess welcome too and sorry for your loss. Hmm well with the positive test and the cramps that does sound like ovulation. Although a positive opk doesn't mean you have definitely ovulated- just that your body is gearing up for it. It's hard to tell from your chart yet as bbt doesn't predict ovulation, it confirms it. The dip could be indicating that it is about to occur but you need a rise to show it and then 3 sustained higher temps that the previous 6 to confirm it. Your chart doesn't show any EWCM- do you get this? This is often an indicator of being fertile and clears up as soon as you have ovulated. Hopefully it should be a bit clearer in a few days.

@MisBit1 definitely no doubting that. Congratulations again! Hope you have a healthy and happy 8-9 months!

Lilimum4 · 10/07/2018 09:03

@MisBit1 congratulations lovely fx for a very happy pregnancy and an easy delivery. Xx

TheHalfBloodPrincess · 10/07/2018 09:06

@boboelephant no, I’ve never had ewcm before. I usually get watery cm mid cycle but it’s one of them things that I’ve never really taken notice of until I ttc.
I’m not putting much faith in the chart tbh, I’ve had a few 4am/5am wake ups this week and don’t think I’ve had a block of more than an hour or 2 without being woken up, but thought I’d keep up with it as it sorta makes me feel a bit more proactive iykwim.

It’s really silly but I’ve got in my head that I need to be pregnant by my due date (11/11) and at the minute it’s helping me to have a focus and not be eaten up with grief, but at the same time I worry I’m setting myself up for a mental fall if I’m still not pregnant when it rolls around.

Kintan · 10/07/2018 09:15

MisBit1 congratulations! That’s amazing :)

Newbie21 · 10/07/2018 09:18

@thehalfbloodprincess we have very similar stats - I too am 37, I had an MMC in April and my due date was 11/11 and I'm now on CD 17. I have very slight cramp feeling which could be ovulation but I thought I ovulated a day or 2 ago. Post-MC I think I'm just more sensitive to any twinges. Sorry you find yourself here but hope you find comfort in the support, I certainly do.

Newbie21 · 10/07/2018 09:19

@misbit1 congratulations!!

Boboelephant · 10/07/2018 09:25

@TheHalfBloodPrincess yeah it's hard if you are not temping at the same time and after 3 hours sleep but I agree it's a good idea to keep doing it. Doesn't sound silly at all. I had the same urge to be pregnant again before my due date- both actually. Sadly I've just passed both of them so am very aware I should have a 1 year old or a newborn. It's very hard but if it happens you will find the mental strength- the ladies here are a wonderful support. Fingers crossed it does happen for you though.

TedLife · 10/07/2018 10:16

@redrobin7 I'm so so sorry to hear you're bleeding. Massive hugs and please come back to us as and when you need support. You're not alone.

@MisBit1 Congratulations! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months x

@TheHalfBloodPrincess Welcome to the huddle, so sorry you find yourself here but hope you find some comfort in the group.

@Boboelephant is Friday POAS day? Keeping everything crossed for you x

YellowDaffodils86 · 10/07/2018 10:18

@Boboelephant
I was thinking more that you come across so nice and supportive, which is why it didn't surprise me. Im intrigued to have some of these infamous timtams!
I hope sore throat is a sign, although i know a few people that have had colds lately including myself. Could your dip be implantation dip today?? When do you plan to test this month? Have everything crossed this month🤞

@Cakelaur cant believe its 17weeks already! Will you find out if its pink or blue?
Glad all is going well though.

@RedRobin7 I am so sorry that this is happening, life really is unfair sometimes.
But you know its not your fault in any way, unfortunately its mainly statistics, which doesn't help in any way. I really wish this wasn't happening for you. I agree with others that the scan will be good to have and i was bleeding quite a bit for my internal, its was fine.
Good luck with your dog training, thats a really cool thing to do.

Iv always said to myself that i wanted to be pregnant by 32, even when i wasn't anywhere near trying for a family.
Iv realised iv got 2 cycles left until that happens. Not sure I will make it. 😬

Boboelephant · 10/07/2018 12:41

@TedLife yep Friday! 😟 I'm petrified as I really feel like this might finally be my month but am so scared of it not being a bfp yet again!
@YellowDaffodils86 oh that's so nice. Thankyou 😚. Testing Friday. Yeh I'm hopeful it's a sign but also fully aware that I've had every 'symptom' under the sun and then the witch arrives. I know how you feel. I wanted to have 2 kids by 35 and when I was pregnant with my second at 33 thought I was on track. Never expected to be here at 35 and still not be. Fx we both catch this month hun!!

OP posts:
Kintan · 10/07/2018 13:22

I know what you guys mean about having a fixed date by which you want to have a baby by. I’ve only got 3 months to get pregnant again if I want to hit my goal.. Fingers crossed for everyone x

Mistymeow · 10/07/2018 14:33

@Cakelaur that has absolutely flown by. So glad it's all going well, please keep in touch.

@redrobin7 really sorry to hear this, my heart fell to the floor. Please look after yourself. Hugs xx

@Kintan so sorry to hear. I was also 9 weeks when I had a mmc in April. I had an ERPC and the bleeding stopped after 3 days. Af arrived four weeks after the ERPC. It does get easier x

@Boboelephant I think we may be cycle buddies this month, or near enough. I'm 7dpo. Temps still high but took slight dip two days in a row (still above coverline). Bored of my body tricking me so I'm just ignoring symptoms :D When are you going to test? I don't think I will until missed period.

Angelbabyollie · 10/07/2018 15:20

@MisBit1 congratulations xxxx

TedLife · 10/07/2018 16:14

@Boboelephant - exciting! Curious to know, did you do SMEP this month or your marathon like last? Keeping everything crossed for you x

Cakelaur · 10/07/2018 16:50

@RedRobin7 how are you today? I hope you're ok. Sending massive massive penguin hugs. So sorry you're going through this again. Thinking of you. Xx

Cakelaur · 10/07/2018 16:56

@MisBit1 there's no denying at all with that one!!

@Mistymeow it's defo dragging at this end. And I feel so brave not having a scan between 12 and 20 weeks (it's killing me slowly though)!!

@YellowDaffodils86 were going to stay team yellow 💛. A Christmas surprise!! If it helps I wanted to be married by 21 and all 4 of my kids by 30. I'm 33 with one on the way and I'm with a man who's going through divorce hahaha!! The best things don't follow plans in my opinion!! Cos I wouldn't change him for the world!! Plus we may have found a venue that makes us wanna get married this time next year! 🤞🏻

@Boboelephant I had no real symptoms except a cold/tickle cough/ sore throat. Both times I assumed implantation bleed was AF coming. So I have mega faith this is your month! Plus temps look great. Little dip today, (IMPLANTATION?!?!?) let's see what tomorrow brings!! 😬

Boboelephant · 10/07/2018 17:09

@Mistymeow we are cycle buddies- I'm 8dpo. Planning to test Friday when I'm 11dpo but I do only have a 12 day luteal phase so af due Sunday. Although if my temp drops Friday morning I'll wait. I wish I could ignore my symptoms, I drive myself crazy!
@TedLife yep SMEP this month. Started on day 9 and got first positive day 16 so did 9, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18. Did miss 20 and did 21 instead but I know I ovulated day 17 so not an issue. It felt a bit more relaxed than our 12 days! Thankyou!!
@Cakelaur ooh a CAKE wedding!! So exciting!!! And thankyou hun! You've got me excited now. I've had a tickly cough today but so random and sporadic. Usually when I get ill I get a barking chesty cough immediately. I never get implantation bleeding so will have to be a bit more patient. Grrr!! I so hope this is it!!! 🤞🤞🤞 My folks arrive next week and it'd be the best news to share in person!

@kintan1 hello and i'm sorry you're here. My first mc was an ERPC and the bleeding stopped after 2 days, but I had a natural miscarriage on the 8th june at 5 weeks and i'm still bleeding. had a scan a couple of days ago though and apparently not much left. fingers crossed it's faster for you - my colleague was pg again 2 weeks after a natural mc and is now 34 weeks. the doctor was lovely and said the same thing had happened to her cousin - long time waiting, miscarriages close together, and then a baby. so fx for all of us.

@yellowdaffodils86 @boboelephant I've long since missed my goal - goal was to have a baby by January 2018, while i was still 30; if i'm lucky i'll have one when i'm 32!

@misbit1 congrats!

Mistymeow · 10/07/2018 17:25

@Boboelephant I will be thinking of you! Af due next tuesday. Any other symptoms? I have a blocked nose and have had cramps since 4dpo which are af like. Not really thinking much of it, probably progesterone related. Perhaps af is coming early. We shall see! We also tried SMEP but I think it was a bit much for DH's spermies who are on the low side.
