Who’s trying SMEP this month?

Support thread for those giving smep a go this month! I’m CD6 so going to start soon. All fingers crossed that this works for us all this month.
Debating whether to buy CB OPK or just stick with IC - might do IC until around FW and then see if I can find a few old CB lying around to confirm a positive.
Anyone else giving this a go?

I'm halfway through the TWW so this week is going to be tough.
@waitingfordaffodils hope you enjoyed your wine - I was trying to be sensible last night but had a few too many pink gins, but hopefully it won't have done any harm.

Got my static smiley last night (knew it!) so that’s 2 cycles I’ve had it on CD 15 now (came off pill in January so seems like things have finally settled down!). BD last night so just need to convince DH to do it today and tomorrow (think he’s getting fed up.....) and then skip a day and one more on weds

@Angelmiracle I think ovulation usually happens anywhere from 12-36 hours after a positive OPK. Hope the extra emotional feeling is a good sign!

@TheMagicTorch pink gin sounds amazing and I'm sure it won't have done any harm. It's good to have some relaxation and distraction during the TWW. It goes so slowly!

Ah thank you @NoseringGirl it was delicious and I had a lovely evening with my friends and family so feeling nice and chilled today, with the slightest of sore heads. I'm sure it's the longest two weeks in existence!

We haven't managed SMEP perfectly. Too much for us. We've done every other day plus one extra on the day I got the static smiley so I hope that will be enough.

My temperatures have been all over the place this month - I think the heat plus sleeping without any clothes or covers on might be the reason!

Fertility friend is confused because of it and has now decided that I ovulated the day before I got the smiley face... don't think that's true as I think I had pretty strong ovulation pain on Friday (FF thinks Thursday).

@JustLikeTheySaid it only takes one time... so 🤞🏻🤞🏻 for you!!! And I think you should trust your body with ovulation - tells you more than any app can!

I could tell I was about to ovulate yesterday despite getting flashing smiley on OPK. So I tested again last night and got static smiley - knew it was coming! BD yesterday and today so just tomorrow and that’s the 3 in a row done!

Well done. We haven't managed the three in a row - too much for us. If we don't fall this month I think that next month we will start a bit later in the month as EOD from day 8 is a lot!

Yeah I agree I don’t ovulate until CD 16 so it’s been too much doing it since CD 8. Think we will start from CD 10 if no luck this cycle.

@Becca444 glad to hear you got your peak! We've our 3 in a row done. Def won't convince dh for 4 in a row and not sure yet if I think doing it again Monday is useful 🤔

@Angelmiracle that’s what I’m thinking as tomorrow would be 4 in a row but will just see how we feel. Don’t think it will make much difference but I know I’ll blame myself if we don’t and then the plan doesn’t work this cycle...

We'll hopefully get our third in a row tonight. DH doesn't think we need to skip a day tomorrow either. I'm starting to think he only agree to TTC#3 for one reason... 🤣

@angelmiracle we missed that last day after skipping a day as I didn't really feel it would make any difference to be honest!

@Bas27 and @Daisymay25 thanks I am still getting negative...i will keep testing as I have a boat load of them....still on my SMEP until then...flo said I should have ovu on the 6th so I dont know...confuse as hell

Two questions today...
I'm still getting v positive OPKs - but do I just do 3 days in a row from the day I got the first positive?

When do you count the 2ww from? From when you've finished the final bd (so after having done 3 in a row and then skipped a day and done one more?)

I had positive OPK yesterday so dtd yesterday and will do today and tomorrow then WAIT!!

high fertility for the last two days, should hopefully get static smiley by thursday which will be cd20

Hello please can I join? Wanted to try Smep for second month ttc dc2 but not going so well so far. Dtd cd6 then dh was away for a few days and now I have a positive opk and he says he’s too hot (haven’t told him I’m doing them so he doesn’t stress). You guys sound like you’ve been at it like anything! Amazing stuff well done and fingers crossed lots of you get your bfps in the next couple of weeks!

@Firsttimer16 I dtd 3 in a row night of first peak opk.
I count tww from day I ovulated. I don't temp so don't exactly know which day I have ovulated. They say it's 12-36hrs after peak opk so the latest brings me to this morning. After the intense ovary pain yesterday afternoon I am counting yesterday as day I ovulated. So tww begins today! 1dpo

Feeling frustrated here. Dh is asleep and I need to go to work but haven’t dtd since that +opk. Worried he won’t want to tonight either and we’ll have missed our shot. Even though I havent said about timings etc and try and keep things relaxed he can totally tell and I think is feeling the pressure I think. Cd 13 today and have dtd once so far, pretty sure that’s not SMEP compliant!

You're good not telling your dh - I had a schedule we had to stick to whether he liked t or not - including coming back from nights out at a reasonable time! But it's good not to put too much pressure. You'll def have to try and pounce tonight though....maybe in a nice cool shower?! Then immediately waddle run to the bed to ie down 🤣

Welcome @Muddytoes1 I think you're doing well not telling him too! My poor DH gets every excruciating detail. He even has FF on his phone!

@Firsttimer16 I go from the first day of positive OPKs and FF does the working out for me but it's usually the day of or after the positive OPK.

We made it to 3 in a row last night (well it works out as more than that as we didn't stick with just EOD before that) and got crosshairs on FF this morning so 3DPO and officially in the TWW and desperate to be able to test!

@Firsttimer16 I did the 3 days in a row starting the day I got my static smiley, but as I was using the CB digital you can't test for 48 hours after a static smiley ( I think - although someone might correct me here!) So after that I just stopped using the OPKs.

Hi @Muddytoes1 I love your seduction technique, sounds like my DPs.

It's too hot this morning, just at work having my only coffee of the morning. Trying to cut back during the TWW just to be safe, and in case of a BFP easing myself in! It's not easy going from 5-6 cups a day!
