Who’s trying SMEP this month?

Support thread for those giving smep a go this month! I’m CD6 so going to start soon. All fingers crossed that this works for us all this month.
Debating whether to buy CB OPK or just stick with IC - might do IC until around FW and then see if I can find a few old CB lying around to confirm a positive.
Anyone else giving this a go?

@Firsttimer16 I will also be impressed with myself if I manage to wait! But I convince myself I'm pregnant, test and then tell myself I've tested too early when it comes back negative! Then I'm just totally living in denial until AF shows up 🙈

So we're going to try SMEP this coming cycle. I'm currently 9dpo but not holding out much hope for this month as completely missed fw due to really early ovulation at cd8! So we only managed to dtd 1 day, on cycle day 8 funnily enough.

We couldn't go again as my DD was having her pals over for a sleepover. Let's see what happens this coming month, fingers crossed for all of us!!! X

@funkyemzie - it only takes one time, you never know! When are you going to test?

@firsttimer16, I tested this morning, never seen a more clear BFN in my life! 😂

I don't mind, I was expecting it. Really going to go for it this next cycle though and start OPK's from day 6 this time!

How is everyone else doing?

We didn’t quite manage to dtd last night - it’s cd8 today so will def start today. Started OPK yesterday. I feel so optimistic this month - but I also had this last month and no luck!

Ah no @funkyemzie at least you have a better idea of when you ovulate now. Fingers crossed for next cycle.
I'm CD10 and only just used my first OPK this morning. Using the clear blue and it was just an empty circle so baby dancing tonight anyway.

Ava moved my fertile window to start today (CD8) going to hold off on the OPKs for a couple of days though as I hate seeing all the negatives!
We DTD twice yesterday is that breaking SMEP rules?

I’m jealous of all of your short cycles! I don’t usually ovulate till day 20ish... and then a painstaking 12 day wait till AF.. makes every month looonnnggg 😫

Lol @BeeKeeping thanks! Long cycles are a pain! I only have a 10 day LP which makes my cycles seem short but sometimes don't ovulate until later into my cycle (it was CD29 when we conceived DS2!) and it's so frustrating. My PCOS is under slightly better control now so when I ovulate it tends to be around CD14-18 which is much easier to live with.

@NoseringGirl if you both have the stamina go for it!!

DH and I both think there could be male factor issues with him so we're hoping a break in between will allow supplies to replenish 😀🙈
Still waiting for SA appointment so who knows he might not have issues. It's hard wrapping your head around being able to conceive your first and not being able to 2nd time!

@angelmiracle 🙈 I gave my poor DP wrong yesterday for (how to put this politely) "giving himself a treat" on our 'in between' day. Like, no don't do that, it's for making babies!!

Only a few weeks to go until testing time - I’m counting down already without having BD...
I have raging angry hormones today which is v unusual this early in the cycle so hoping it doesn’t mean a weird messed up cycle...

Short cycles are ok but sometimes I wonder if it builds up enough endometrial lining between af and ovulation for implantation to occur. Luteal phase is between 12-14 days so that seems normal time.

@Angelmiracle I can imagine how frustrating that can be. I hope you get answers soon.

My DH was tested first time round and while he had high count and good motility, his morphology was pretty rubbish. Apparently "refreshing" things more often can be helpful in that situation. We quite like the excuse

@NoseringGirl Enjoy the excuse! We vary so much like sometimes on a weekend we'll DTD three or four times a day then we go like 2 weeks without, so every other day is working out nicely for us!

@bas27 - I know what you mean, I’ve read so many good things about smep I can’t help but feel so positive.

My info is:

Cd8 (bd starts tonight!)
Ttc # 2 (#1 somehow conceived first time trying without any OPK or any knowledge of how cycles worked - pure luck).
Ttc Cycle 4 (cycle 2 was v early miscarriage/CP af arrived a week after bfp 🙁)
Ovulated a week late last cycle following CP so had me hopeful, as cycle was about 6 days longer than Normal - but no bfp. but hoping it will be back to normal this month to not keep me waiting so long.
Apps : also all of them! Particularly glow and Flo though as I find them easiest to use.

@bas27 cycle buddies I'm on CD10 today too so BD tonight 🤭
I'm TTC #1
Cycle 4 - last month got BFP but had a v early miscarriage at 4 weeks.
First cycle using OPKs and SMEP as I'm not sure when I'll ovulate following last month.
Use Flo app too which I really like.

I prefer ovia, Flo , and glow. However, also use clue and fertility friend.
I had the implanon out on 16th may after 9 years of no periods(!) so I had no idea what was going on.
That first one (10 days ago) nearly killed me. The cramps were evil. I was at work like "why do you gods hate on women, whhhhyyyy" 😱😫
