So 8 days later bleeding finally stopped. How do you check hormones show miscarriage is complete when the hcg never got high to start with. Any ideas what to do as can’t go back to the dr this week?

Presh12345 · 25/06/2018 13:16

Back to CD1. What an I do to thicken lining??

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 13:18

The only thing they will advise is the hcg test, but as yours never got high anyway it may just mean things return to normal fairly quick. It may be worth looking out for ovulation signs now as the bleed may be like af restarting your cycle

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 13:22

Hobbes I can sympathise, it is really awful (and a bit weird) wanting a bfn. But once you have that, ovulation will happen and your cycle will be back, so no more limbo land.

Presh, I remember reading about rasberry leaf tea for lining, and pineapple? I think there are others but I can't remember

Hobbes39 · 25/06/2018 13:56

@Karigan198 - hmm, I'm not sure what you can do if your urine levels weren't high in the first place - how frustrating for you. I'm to use a 'reasonably sensitive' pregnancy test next week and if still showing positive I need to go in and have bloods to check it is on way down.
I think if I were you I'd do as cleozeta suggests and start checking for ovulation signs x

mellongoose · 25/06/2018 14:27

Just checking in. I'm not posting a lot (as not a lot to report) but am reading all your posts. Wishing you all fabulously healthy, regular and fertile cycles.

I'm due to ov this weekend (I think) so have started dtd every other day. As much as we can due to work any way.

I know what you mean about the ache. I'm knackered a lot of the time. My practical head says stick at one, we are too old. But then my ovaries take over and I get the ache. Deep breath and positivity.

Cleozeta · 25/06/2018 16:35

Mimosa - have you considered it may be 'high' oestrogen? I thought mine was high last year and symptoms sound similar.
Also just heard something interesting. Apparently water levels are so high with oestrogen it's killing off fish as it's turning them all female. This is in our drinking water. I don't know about you, but I drink crap loads of tap water as I was under the beleif it was good for me. But apparently the amount of people on the pill these days is causing problems with the water. DH has low testosterone and thinks it may be down to this problem. There is also a recent rise in men suffering from what is known as the male menopause, which is a natural decline in testosterone, which could be due to the water issues. It may be worse in built up cities

PollyIndia · 25/06/2018 17:39

Cleozeta, that is amazing re the tap water. I’m in London and I drink 2l of tap water a day. I had self diagnosed high oestrogen levels via much googling.
Not much to report here. Didn’t Ovulate last month according to my temps; think I did this month yesterday so will see if the higher temp holds.
A lady in ds’s class had her son at 47! And she got pregnant again at 50, though lost that one. So it definitely happens...

Alibaba2 · 25/06/2018 20:20

Hi all, thought I'd join the thread too. I'll be 44 in Aug, have a 3 yr old son, got pregnant end of 2016 but lost the baby to Patau syndrome when I was 15 weeks pregnant. TTC at moment, taking pregnacare, maca root and royal jelly.

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:38

Hobbes/Cleo - I have considered high oestrogen but I have all the classic signs of low oestrogen and not high. I could be wrong of course and only a blood test would tell. I’ve worked hard to remove fake/ zeno oestrogens from my life (filtered tap water, no plastics, organic food, natural cosmetics and cleaning products etc etc) too. I have heard that Cleo about tap water yes. Our environment is scary.

For those of you with high oestrogen the supplement DIM is supposed to be good.

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:38

Ali - do you have symptoms?

littlemimosa · 25/06/2018 21:43

Chat - your best friends words really resonate with me today. I’ve put the Maca and Vitex away. I’m goong to carry on with the multivitamins and ubiquinol for egg quality but other than that I’m going to just let me body so it’s thing. Good or bad!

shinyblackdog · 25/06/2018 21:47

Karigan, I know I should have updated you but somehow couldn't.

BooseysMom · 25/06/2018 22:03

Welcome nor77 and sorry for your loss. I haven't heard of Patau Syndrome.
I've always been worried about tap water. We used to get free spring water from a local well but went back to drinking tap water when they put up signs about it being contaminated. Strange how we haven't been able to conceive since but conceived DS when we were drinking spring water. .makes you wonder!

Alibaba2 · 26/06/2018 13:02

Mimosa - symptoms of high oestrogen? No, had no idea. I had one set of bloods last year, all good. Then this year, not good - high FSH and oestrogen, low AMH. Guess my body is working harder to release eggs.

Good work on cutting down supplements. I conceived fine without them then struggled since taking them.

PollyIndia · 26/06/2018 18:32

Maybe supplements aren't the way to go. Isn't the amount of info out there just overwhelming. I have cut some things - the inositol as pretty sure I didn't ov last month, and that was the only difference. Still doing fish oils and multivits. Been taking maca for ages and thought as it's just a root, it couldn't do much damage. I have no idea tho! And I am mos def not pregnant, so it's obviously not doing what it's meant to.
I do have herbs from my acu lady. Going to give that a few more weeks, then am on hols and I think I'll leave it over the summer. I am 43 in October, think I will start the IVF convo in September...
Alibaba, are you getting your bloods done privately?

littlemimosa · 26/06/2018 19:05

Ali - yes I meant do you have any symptoms of high oestrogen.

Polly - I’m starting to think the same re supplements. I’ve taken so much this past year or so. I feel jaded by them all now. Yes there is way too much information at our fingertips. It’s not good if you’re a perfectionist control freak like me lol.

Presh - I’ve read (what haven’t I read about?!) that acupuncture, raspberry leaf tea and pomegranates and their juice are good for lining. Also exercise and movement.

Cleozeta · 26/06/2018 19:14

I think some suppliments are really helpful if they relate to a problem you are having and if they are the right thing for you, I think some suppliments can go wrong if they aren't the correct thing for the problem - ie. Attempting to fix what isn't broken. I personally have (so far) found the suppliments I have tried really helpful and have made a difference. My body has been much more 'functional' since using them.
Although I must admit to being wary of trying vitex even though I have purchased some

weasledee · 26/06/2018 20:27

Cleo - please could you tell me a bit about your experience with soy isoflavones?

Dickybow321 · 26/06/2018 21:48

That's the strongest Ive seen on here weasel... you'd best get busy! Grin

Dickybow321 · 26/06/2018 21:53

I agree cleo.
Before my last period I was popping so many supplements that my kids were like Shock. Then I had the worst period I've ever had in my life... blood literally pouring from me. So full of clots. Urrgh. My haemoglobin dropped from 13 to 11 after two days. I then did some Googling and realised people take L-Arginine for missing or scanty periods! Well that was never my problem...theyre usually heavy! So I've knocked the L-Arginine on the head. Then I read bad things about royal jelly (in the book It Starts With The Egg) so I've stopped that too.
