CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hi ladies
I've been awol - sometimes it's all just too much. Had the first ivf appointment today but we're going to delay until Dec/new year as there's just too much going on with my new job and I've no holiday days left till January. I feel very mixed about it all-sad it's more delay but its the right decision for us. It just feels so long away.

@dino sounds like you're doing well which is great news!

I'll try and catch up on all your news. @pink have you started on your injections?

Sorry about all the FP everywhere.

Pinkemi · 02/10/2018 16:36

Welcome back @LexieJean! Sorry to hear the IVF has been delayed.. but to be honest you gotta do what you feel is best. Thats why we wanted to do it this month because its the quietest with regards to holidays at work and our social calendar.

Nope not started injections yet! Was meant to start this evening but my FP STILL hasn't arrived! I am now 1 day late. Im trying to not get too excited because I have had like a 34/35 day cycle in the past without being pregnant. (I am day 31 today.)

I also took a test this morning and it was negative so.. I don't really know what to think.

Si1ver · 02/10/2018 17:14

@Pinkemi that'll be you waiting to start your cycle. My FP was two days late as well, which meant I had to reschedule all my scans, change holidays, flights, hotels etc

Nothing ever happens on time in IVF

Pinkemi · 02/10/2018 17:20

@Si1ver Yeah.. i thought it might be the stress of everything thats been happening recently putting my body out of wack. Doesn't help that I keep looking at the meds in my fridge and getting nervous.. Its my bodies way of saying it doesn't want to do it. haha

I guess at least I dont have to worry about holiday etc quite yet. Just keeping my fingers crossed that no-one has holiday when i need to have my egg collection day! If they do.. ill just call in sick.

Si1ver · 02/10/2018 21:09

I remember getting to that stage and looking in the fridge torn between freaking out at the meds and just wanting to get the fuck on with it.

Then there was the "what qualifies as a full bleed day" conversation. I started about 8 pm at night, but bleeding heavily. Is that day one* or does it have to be a whole day? You can drive yourself crazy with this stuff.

*Yes that's day one.

Pinkemi · 03/10/2018 10:29

hmmm thats interesting @Si1ver. My clinic told me if i started like in the middle of the night then that would be considered day one. If i started on like 8pm... day one would be the next day, so to then start meds the next day on day 2.

STILL no sign of my FP but my temp dropped this morning and i am one seriously cranky mofo.. so i imagine it will be today. Grin JUST WANT TO GET ON WITH IT NOW!

Convinced my recent sickness has given me some sort of infection down there.. its so itchy Sad Wonder if i can take meds for that and do the injections at the same time? Hmm Looks like ANOTHER email to the IVF nursing team. haha. I bet they see my name and roll their eyes now. haha

Si1ver · 03/10/2018 11:43

It was for me as I have short cycles, but ALL clinics give different advice on this stuff. You can only go by what your clinic says not random strangers on the internet Grin

Hope your FP turns up soon.

ImpatientMammy · 03/10/2018 12:54

CD1 of cycle 11 today sorry I've not been keeping up very well. Anyone know what will happen when I go to the drs next month? I have a nearly 3 year old but we weren't actually trying with him we were just reckless with the contraception.
Any advice or information will be really gratefully received. I'll try have a catch up now. X

Owlpatrol · 03/10/2018 13:02

@Pinkemi any news? I hate the dryness it's always a sign for my impending af. I hear so many stories with ladies who have increased cm before a bfp it's so annoying! Well I've been a mixed bag of randomness today....woke up feeling sick and had some soup for lunch and still feeling rough. I think I'm like 2dpo so basically it means nothing but still!

Pinkemi · 03/10/2018 13:31

haha dont worry @Si1ver.. I was still going to do what my clinic said.. just found it interesting that it can be so different. :) Im on different meds to you too if I remember rightly.

@OwlPatrol nope.. still nothing.. although Ive been feeling a bit sicky since about 11.. and my cramps have gotten a bit worse.. so im thinking it will be later this afternoon or this evening. Just want it to hurry up now. Convinced i'm not pregnant but still have that tiny teeny bit of hope...

@ImpatientMammy Sorry to hear that its day 1 for you! Sad

Pinkemi · 03/10/2018 15:28

Currently sitting here sobbing.. as just took another test and its negative.. but STILL no sign of my bloody FP. I am so fed up.. .just start already!

Also had a call from my DH to tell me that his sample results came back and its basically okay now... Which is great news because it means we wont have to pay for ICSI and can just have normal IVF. But.. it just makes me feel so crappy because it now means that the fact we can't seem to get pregnant is ALL my fault because of my low AMH. Sad

ive been so weepy the past couple of days.. its gotta start soon surely. Angry

maddiie · 03/10/2018 21:00

Sorry posted quite emotionally the other day but didn't check on anyone else.. BFN hormones let's say.

@PinkemiThanks It's such a shit time just waiting for it's inevitable arrival sometimes isn't, try to focus on your DH results being good news rather than a negative (easier said than done I know) hope this all gets easier for you xx

@ImpatientMammy Sorry to hear you're back at CD1.. I'm nearly on CD80. Can't win either way!

@LexieJean Welcome back although sorry that you have to return.. good luck with your treatment sorry to hear it's been delayed Thanks

BGDino · 04/10/2018 03:01

Ohhh @Pinkemi sending you the biggest hug I can from across the seas. Know what you mean about feeling like it’s all your fault when DH’s results come back normal - when our specialist told my DH his results were “excellent” I just remember thinking “well, it must be all my fault then”. Cue lots of tears and DH listening to me tell him that he cheated himself out of becoming a dad by marrying me and that he deserved better and should have married someone else etc; etc; etc; Crossing everything I can that once you start treatment it all becomes boringly predictable and successful xxx xxx xxx

Welcome back @LexieJean

@maddiie and I thought the 63 day cycles I used to have as a teenager were long!!! I reckon if PCOS was part of the high school teaching about periods sex etc; many girls would get diagnosed earlier and maybe make it easier further down the line when it was childbearing time...

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 08:07

Hoping FP rocks up soon @Pinkemi

Urgh @maddiie hope yours does too!! I can't remember your background but has your GP offered metformin for PCOS?

maddiie · 04/10/2018 08:46

@OrcinusOrca GP can't find any reason why my cycles are so irregular! I had a useless GP for over a year who said it was fine and nothing out of the ordinary and then switched GP who said cycles that range between 20-100+ days are far from normal so all tests being ran again. No PCOS diagnosis or anything. Having some hormone tests today (for the second time) and then clomid. Doctor says there's a chance there's no fertility issue other than being so irregular causing me to have sex at the wrong times but we do try and stick to every other day so god knows really. Just want some answers because I never want to have sex again at this point Grin

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 09:25

@maddiie crikey what's awful! What a mystery. At least clomid should force ovulation.

My ovaries looked polycystic in July but a couple weeks ago I was told they didn't look poly anymore (during hycosy). Despite having really bad cystic acne on my jaw etc my hormone levels came back pretty decent too. If I'd had the clearer ultrasound and those hormone tests at the same time I'm not sure I'd have got the PCOS diagnosis. Think they say you need 2/3 markers?

I suspect I do ovulate OK but that we have some other kind of issue. Such a rollercoaster isn't it. This is my second cycle on the full dose of metformin so I am curious how regular it will be..!

Pinkemi · 04/10/2018 09:28

Thanks for your kind words everyone. I feel a bit crappy for posting my last post.. yesterday was just one hell of a weepy day! Of course I'm thrilled that my DH's results came back normal.. but was just so angry at myself for being the problem. Part of me just cant help but wonder if I had lost the 4 stone that I was meant to have lost... would we still be having all these problems. Hmm

Temp has risen slightly today.. but my cramping has gotten worse and my bowels have kicked into action (sorry for TMI! HAHA) so im thinking today will be the day! Refuse to take any more pregnancy tests until at least Sunday morning.. because my FP would then be a week late. I can't take another blasted negative.

Have bought some cream for down there.. because too much of a wimp to take the pill to clear an infection (just in case).. but they say the cream is safe. Hopefully I will have a nice foofoo soon! hahaha

Sending hugs to everyone!

Booksandbaths1 · 04/10/2018 09:40

Hey yammers! Sounds like there's a lot going on with everyone. I'm impressed that everyone's pushing forward with things to try and get our bfps. I've had a crazy few weeks and am currently on hol, due to start ivf when we return. I'm on a long protocol which I'm surprised about as my amh isn't great but oh well, clinic recommended. Start cd21. Something like 4+ weeks of injections which I'm not looking forward to. Issues compounded by my sister being taken into hospital - when we return I'd like to go see her but the ivf will make travel tricky and we've not told family. Certainly adding to my worries. Hey ho. @pinkemi sounds like we'll be on meds at the same time. Good luck!

Owlpatrol · 04/10/2018 18:57

I know sorry everyone is having a crappy time but it's nice to see we are all at least doing something.

Dp still won't go for his tests, I even asked him if he had the snip the other day. Didn't go down well!

I've also been so emotional with work this week and I've also had bowl issues 😂 anyway I am fairly certain this month is not possible to even be pregnant as we've done once in fw, once out of fw and dp wants to tonight which is last day of fw.....let's see. Onto the tww eh!

Chooklass · 04/10/2018 19:35

In case you hadn't seen the news about faulty tests:

Clear & Simple faulty digital pregnancy tests recalled www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-45749573

@Teachermummy83 you didn't use that brand did you?

Teachermummy83 · 04/10/2018 20:32

@Chooklass, thanks for thinking of me but no, my positive was an Asda digital.
I got a bit excited there, thinking that might be a plausible explanation for my positive but I’m almost certain I was pregnant but had a chemical. The other symptoms I had, along with the really late, crazily heavy bleed only make me more certain.
I feel so sorry for anyone who’s had a false positive from these though. It’s utterly heartbreaking. xx

Chooklass · 04/10/2018 21:55

@Teachermummy83 Yep - TTC is tough enough without dodgy tests doing the rounds.

Pinkemi · 04/10/2018 22:05

So today.. my accupuncturist only did a few points on the wrists and neck. I was like nothing on my legs etc. She looked at me a little pained and was like.. not today. I basically forced her to tell me why not and she was like.. I've never felt your pulse like that before.. i dont think its safe. I was like.. omg!

Before i get too excited, it might just be because im getting over this damn lurgy. And im now lying in bed and my tummy is cramping again.. so i am imagining i will wake up to the witches arrival.

OrcinusOrca · 04/10/2018 22:40

Does anyone on here spot a lot before FP? I start at like 6DPO and it gets progressively heavier from. Slight brown discharge to hmm what am I classing as day one..? Levels.

I've been on the pill the bulk of my years of having periods and when I wasn't on it I didn't spot like this. Stressing that it's the reason why nothing is happening. Maybe I'm ovulating but my progesterone drops too fast? Urgh Sad

Chooklass · 05/10/2018 07:18

I'm a spotter @OrcinusOrca! I had another thread about it for a while which had some useful links to other theads posted on it too, will try and find the link.

I always spotted from around then too, but since having a hysteroscopy in May I spot loads less and usually only from 9/10 dpo. No idea what that procedure did to help or if it's just a coincidence. But I'm still not pregnant so it didn't help in that way!
