CALLING ALL YAMMER'S!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Morning fellow Yammers.

@Booksandbaths1 hope your move went well. My neighbours have made comments about 'it's a lovely big family house...' we have been here a year now. We have spread out well haha. Four bedrooms, one ours, one a spare, one a dressing room as the other a study/craft room with day bed that the dogs sleep on.

@Pinkemi not surprised you feel skint! I don't blame your fuck it attitude with the weight. I have found it hard to motivate myself to do things that 'might' help. Gets to a point where you just think some people blink and get preggers and I think fuck it about things like caffeine and sugar right
now, I need some kinda pick me ups!

@Owlpatrol Gosh she sounds rather OTT doesn't she...hope she simmers down!

@maddiie Did you get your results?

OrcinusOrca · 21/09/2018 06:14

I had a hycosy yesterday. I cried at the start Sad I was sexually abused growing up and I can't even explain why I cry it's an automatic response. I probably do feel out of control. Fertility issues are like the icing on the cake, just another reminder that I can't keep a lid on 'that' box. The staff were really lovely. I told them I might cry at the beginning but that I'd be OK it just happens and I can't seem to not do it.

Results were all clear anyway, everything looks lovely apparently. DH has to spunk in a pot in a couple of weeks. I don't really know what's next. They did say my ovaries didn't look polycystic yesterday, I wonder if metformin can work that fast? I was told they were with an ultrasound in July. Apparently I had a dominant follicle so DH and I need to crack on. Shame I have such little inclination right now! Been feeling quite unwell again with bouts of IBS. Not having a great time at the minute.

Booksandbaths1 · 21/09/2018 09:24

Oh gosh @OrcinusOrca that sounds tough. I found the hycosy pretty horrible but with all that additional trauma that must have been especially hard for you. Well done - a significant hurdle to clear. Confusing about the different diagnosis for pcos. Perhaps the metformin is helping. Has your partner does a SA before? My poor dh is getting himself in a tizz as the IVF Dr gave him a 1 pager of dos and don'ts for improving sperm and he's now stressing about how much exercise is too much and what constitutes 1 unit of alcohol. Tbh I'm confused too as 1 Dr said his sperm was fine and another is now saying we need ICSI.

maddiie · 21/09/2018 12:47

@OrcinusOrca Blood results are in but no doctor to read them until tuesday apparently Hmm Glad your results were ok and Thanks for getting through that it must of been tough for you x

Good luck @Pinkemi crossing everything for you x

OrcinusOrca · 21/09/2018 13:02

@maddiie how typical, very annoying. Hope Tuesday comes quickly for you Thanks

@Booksandbaths1 urgh hycosys are horrid aren't they! I jolted at one point and I thought I was alright with pain...no DH has to do SA before our next appt so he's going early October. He has ASD and struggles in clinical environments, comes over all faint. I'm a bit worried about if he'll manage it. Did your DH have to go to hospital to do it, how did he find it?

Confusing when you get different opinions. Did you have the figures yourself, maybe there are ranges and he was on the cusp with one doctor going one way and the other another?

My DH is a bit panicky he's the problem after a clear hycosy. I do wonder if the metformin is helping PCOS though, maybe that's been our big issue. I can cling onto some hope for that anyway..!

Booksandbaths1 · 21/09/2018 15:28

@OrcinusOrca yep I jolted with paint at one point too. Mostly it was just uncomfortable but at one point the dr asked for extra liquid and that hurt. They were super lovely about it but it felt quite intrusive having the dildo cam up there. It felt like ages as they couldn't fine one tube apparently 🤔 My dh has done 2 x samples. The 1 on nhs he did his biz at home into a provided container and took it to hospital (had an hr to make it in with it which was fine as we live close ish). 2nd one was in the private clinic in a 'special room' - porn provided. I empathise with your partner as I also get faint and freaked out in clinical environments (not ideal if we're about to start ivf). Not uncommon. Maybe he should ask if he can take his sample in?

Teachermummy83 · 21/09/2018 21:44

Sounds like everyone is in the throws of treatment, tests, injections and medical interventions..... you all seem to be taking steps forward so good luck to you all - keeping my fingers crossed for everyone xx

In other news, after holding off testing all week, I’m scared to believe this might be true, but ....... this looks positively positive?
Must buy another tomorrow just incase this is a fluke!

Teachermummy83 · 21/09/2018 21:46

Eeeek!

The Good, The Bad and The Yams!
ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 00:21

Congratulations @Teachermummy83
Hope your all doing ok, the procedures sound awful but hopefully it will all be worth it.
I ran out of OPKs which I told myself would remove the stress but I just feel even less in control. Hopefully I get a clear ovulation and can relax. X

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 06:55

Thanks impatient mummy 😊
So sorry ladies, just re-read the rules and realised I shouldn’t have posted a picture - mortified 😳
Can’t seem to take it down? Can an admin help?

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 10:00

So, that was short-lived excitement.
Tested again this morning and it’s negative. Also looks like the start of AF, but 5 days late after loads of symptoms and a BFP.

Knew I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up. 😔 What the hell is going on!!?

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 17:22

Aww @Teachermummy83 has af actually begun. Fingers crossed it's just a false negative? X

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 17:42

@impatientmammy I just don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s very light bleeding, only when wiping, but very dark brown. Certainly not my normal period as I’m normally very heavy and crampy (Sorry for too much information!)
Still have the strong metallic taste and no cramping, so who knows what’s happening! Have an appointment with the nurse on Monday for a tetanus injection so will maybe ask then?

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 18:32

Yes @Teachermummy83 I would. Is it the same brand of test you used? X

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 18:37

@impatientmummy last night was an Asda digital. This morning was clearblue digital. Does the brand of the test make much difference?

ImpatientMammy · 22/09/2018 18:41

Different brands have deferent sensitivity's so there is potential that your still pregnant. Hope your ok maybe grab another of the Asda ones and test again in the morning to give yourself a better idea what's going on. Sending love in the meantime x

Teachermummy83 · 22/09/2018 22:42

Another negative. I’m away to greet.
So cruel after the positive last night.
I hate this.

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 15:47

Sorry to hear about your uncertainty of what is going on @Teachermummy83 Thanks

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 16:00

How is everybody's weekend going?

I need talking down! I struggle to relax. When people ask me what I enjoy doing I really find it hard to answer. Then I had a bit of a lightbulb moment. Yes there is nothing right now that I do and particularly enjoy, but I used to really enjoy being with horses. I used to ride as a teen and shared a couple of horses at different points. Then I relocated and I had contact with horses on the ground for a few years but no riding and then did a little bit of riding 18 months ago. Lessons or sharing isn't the same as having your own though. So I threw the idea out there to DH and he says if we can afford one I can have one Shock

It feels a bit nuts. But I'm thinking about it! Part of me is all 'but what if I get pregnant' but let's be honest, what if I never do? I wouldn't say I really enjoy life with the extra curricular stuff I do or have available at the moment. Are any fellow yammers into horses?

ImpatientMammy · 23/09/2018 17:01

Hi @OrcinusOrca I think having a hobby sounds like it could be really good for you. Could you share the horse later if you did become pregnant? I've never rode but exercise is my abseloute sanity right now so can see why riding would be good for the mind x

OrcinusOrca · 23/09/2018 18:05

@ImpatientMammy yes definitely could. I don't really want to share someone else's myself but would be prepared to share my own or loan it out. I don't want to fall in love with something that can never be mine, I had that as a teen and then the pony was taken away and I never saw her again. Another time the owner was a bit chicken and so it was always me getting on to sort her (sometimes, pig of a) horse out manners wise. Much rather be the one in control...

Booksandbaths1 · 23/09/2018 21:19

@OrcinusOrca Me!! I love horses and had one as a teenager (I'm not posh but grew up in a completely rural area so there wasn't much around to do as a kid so horse riding was common). I have tried a few riding lessons locally but it hasn't been the same so would love to get a horse. It's such an incredible bond and I miss it. Horses are amazing. If you can afford the money and time, go for it. I would but my job etc makes it tricky atm. I totally agree that it's important to keep up hobbies and things that you enjoy, especially when ttc can take over.

Pinkemi · 24/09/2018 14:32

Wow looks like i missed quite a bit this weekend!

Im off sick again today.. so fed up of this rubbish. Really busy time at work so im sure my name is being dragged through mud right now.

On a side note.. just recieved notification to say my meds have been shipped for next week. Due tomorrow. Ahhhh. I dont wanna start. :-(

JustLikeTheySaid · 24/09/2018 19:01

Hi all. I've been waiting to be 6months+ before joining but I think I've known all along we would end up here. Today is day 1 of my 7th cycle of actively ovulation stick trying... But I've been off the pill for 16months now with no luck. Doctors told me to wait until 1yr of active trying which I wish would just hurry up tbh. Having a really really low day today, feel absolutely doom and gloom and like this is never going to happen for us. Awful. Sorry for the depressing first post :(

SparkwoodAnd21 · 24/09/2018 19:26

Welcome Just. We all do depressing posts here quite a bit so you’re in good company. This is the place to come for a moan any time you like.
