Can't quite believe I've just written that title...after a lot of indecision DH and I have decided to see where fate takes us. So we're not obsessively trying, but I know generally when I ovulate so we'll DTD around that time. Tbh we're still not 100% convinced we'd cope with three, but sometimes you have to take a leap of faith.

I've been thinking about it constantly and our ages mean it's now or never. We adore our 2 DC's and if that's what we're meant to have we'll be very happy, but if fate has other ideas, we're up for the challenge!

About to start AF and then off we go Smile

Welcome to @DeltaG and @PaulHollywoodsSexGut
TTC no 3 is such a momentous choice there is no wonder the decision is hard to make...
Sorry AF came for you Paul, sad but onwards and upwards for next cycle.

@NoseringGirl well done on buying your new motor - I think that’s massive step forward and at least that’s one of your major worries sorted now... just gotta get up the duff now eh?!

PCOS sounds like a terrible ordeal! You ladies that have it are heroes...

Coil countdown - 7 sleeps Grin

MidwifeMummy161 · 09/07/2018 15:21

Hi there I am also ttc #3.
I’m 28 and have a 7yo boy and 6yo girl from my first husband who passed away 2.5 years ago! I am marrying my second chance at love next month and we decided life’s too short and we both always said we’d like to have a child together so we decided to try. This is my first cycle trying and I’m currently 8dpo. I got pregnant very quickly with my first two but as this is a different partner, he doesn’t have any children and I’m a bit older than when I conceived my older two, I’m quite apprehensive! I’m also a midwife so it is super tough being surrounded by pregnant mums and babies all day at work when I’m desperate for that myself, fingers crossed for a quick conception xx

sambababy · 09/07/2018 16:47

@DeltaG I'm in a slightly similar position. We live in my husband's country so we have help from his mum but there's nothing by way of things to do with children mon-fri so being a SAHM I have really struggled mentally with isolation, boredom & loneliness. It's one of the things holding me back from ttc #3. I really get the expense with going to visit family and travelling! It's costing us £2k in flights to go to the uk for Christmas this year Shock It's the first time we're paying for my 2 year old.

Congrats to the ladies who got bfp's and positive thoughts to the rest of you! I'll be ovulating this week but think I'm going to wait another month while I deliberate some more arrrrgggghhhh

UntilTheVeryEnd · 09/07/2018 17:22

@MidwifeMummy161 I am so sorry to hear that your husband passed away but it’s fantastic that you have found love again and want to TTC! It must be so hard being a midwife and watching all the ladies giving birth while TTC - I’m getting broody watching Highland Midwife. I feel I must say that you are by no means old! I say this as I am 28 in a few months and if you are old then so am I! Hmm let’s just agree that we are both spring chickens eh?

@sambababy £2k for flights is an extortion! No wonder you are hesitant...

MidwifeMummy161 · 09/07/2018 17:47

Haha agreed @UntilTheVeryEnd
It is not the ideal job to ttc in haha but I do get baby cuddles so I’m not complaining

mondaycando1 · 09/07/2018 18:06

Sneaked over from the over 40 thread but after a few months of coil and bleeding issues after 7 years of having it in, it's now out.

My period has just only lasted 4 days but I guess that's just readjustment? I will be mid cycle just as children finish school so wondering how we're going to find time / energy over the summer holidays?!!

All the practical parts of me say trying at 44 with a 7 & 8 year old is ludicrous but we've decided to not bother with contraception and see what happens. Scared and excited!!

mondaycando1 · 09/07/2018 18:09

Untiltheveryend - do you have a family planning clinic near you, they might be able to take the coil out sooner. My GP did it same day when I went in to talk about random bleeding I was getting.

DeltaG · 09/07/2018 18:19

@sambababy

I imagine that isolation can be a real problem. I work and I think it has really helped with this aspect of living abroad. Do you speak the language there? Having a language barrier adds to it. Fortunately I'm fluent in French now and DH is French so he obviously has no issues with the language!

The fact that our families are in different countries does mean there is nobody to fall back on for childcare and adding more DC to the mix will only make this more difficult!

NoseringGirl · 09/07/2018 18:30

Sorry for AF @PaulHollywoodsSexGut thats quite a screen name you have 🤣

@UntilTheVeryEnd ahh just the small matter of getting upduffed! I think the car might've been the easy part. So exciting that the coil removal is so close! Eek! I also agree that 28 is definitely spring chicken territory, I'm 35!!

@MidwifeMummy161 Hello! I know you from the July bus, nice to see you over here!

@mondaycando1 welcome! All the best to you, sometimes that broodiness just takes over!

UntilTheVeryEnd · 09/07/2018 18:45

@mondaycando1 nice to have you with us! The nearest clinic is 40 odd miles away, I did phone to try them but they would have been longer than my GP. I was waiting 3 weeks then a few days before my app they phoned to cancel so been waiting 5 weeks Angry the app is next Tuesday so it’s in sight, thank god! This waiting milarky is no fun especially when you jolly well just want to get jiggy with it!

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut I also had a jolly good giggle at your screen name... quite possibly the best I’ve seen! My subtle Harry Potter reference name feels a bit pathetic now next to you Wink

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 09/07/2018 18:51

Thanks guys!

It came to me like a vision.....

[the name, not the gut]

LittleTipple · 09/07/2018 21:14

@MidwifeMummy161 I was saying to DH that I'd love a job where I could be around babies a lot, but yes, it must be tough when you want your own. So happy that you've found second chance love.

@mondaycando1 in for a penny, in for a pound! I believe that what's meant to be will be.

I'm about to start the TWW, but after having every symptom last month, I'm determined not to get carried away this cycle!

@noseringgirl I was diagnosed at 18 after having very irregular periods. Had scans which showed pcos.

NoseringGirl · 10/07/2018 16:20

@Wingingit3211 I was just wondering whether they'd done all the blood tests or if it was based on there being cysts on your ovaries. The diagnosis process seems to vary a lot!

Megs87 · 10/07/2018 18:55

Hello and welcome to the newcomers :)

Exciting news about the car @NoseringGirl we haven't looked yet as ours will do for the start.
Fingers crossed for this TWW @LittleTipple not symptom spotting is hard!

@sambababy the isolation is definitely hard, we lived in Cyprus when DS1 arrived and as lovely as it was to be out there I missed family more so once DS1 arrived and it's difficult without the support network isn't it. Hopefully you come to a decision that suits you as a family :)

PCOS sounds rough ladies

sambababy · 11/07/2018 01:49

Thanks @Megs87. @DeltaG yes it's a different language here. I'd say I know enough to get by, I've been here a few years, but I'm hopeless at small talk even in English and the language barrier hasn't helped things. It is what it is though.

I'm just curious if anyone's DC1 or 2 don't sleep through most of the time? I think I was lucky with DD, she slept through from about 15 months (until age 3-4 when she came in our bed every night). DS still wakes on average twice a night at 2 years old. I'm not sure how I would cope with pregnancy when I'm starting off this tired!

NoseringGirl · 11/07/2018 07:58

@sambababy DS1 was a terrible sleeper but is brilliant now he's 4. He woke up early today but took himself downstairs and got a drink and watched some cartoons before we came down. DS2 was slightly better but is 18 months and going through awful sleep at the moment. He had been sleeping really well in his bed but doesn't want to sleep on his own at the moment. He also wakes frequently. Not really sure why I'm wanting to do this to myself again 🙈

UntilTheVeryEnd · 11/07/2018 08:05

@sambababy tiredness is just a killer - I have been really lucky with my two since they were little really... altho my DD, now almost 4, no longer sleeps through and gets up due to nightmares, so she often ends up in our bed. I do try and put her back but sometimes I’m just so tired that I give in... not the right thing to do I know Confused so I do understand! Have absolutely no advice but a hand to hold x

DeltaG · 11/07/2018 14:04

I must say that both DS are good sleepers. DS1 (2.5) started sleeping through at 10 weeks and DS2 (5 months) at 11 weeks. Barring illness they do 12-13 hours and we are normally up before them. This is one thing I have on my side when weighing up a third. I don't think I can do the HG again though 🙁

rampantrose · 11/07/2018 14:16

We are also trying for dc3. Due on in 2 days had spotting and pink discharge. Feel violently sick and exhausted but negative test results. Hoping I've just tested too early and results change to a BFP soon xx

Megs87 · 11/07/2018 17:11

I have 2 terrible sleepers who are getting marginally better. DS1 has got better recently but still not great sleeps through some nights now but still not all, he's not long 4. Then DS2 who is 3 this month was a better sleeper but more recently he wants you there to sleep, so tends to wake 2-4 times a night and typically ends up in bed with us. Figured whilst I am suffering from lack of sleep I may aswell have another one :)

@rampantrose welcome and hope AF doesn't arrive. Fingers crossed you just tested early .

I'm CD8 due to ov this weekend and hubby is away on a stag do but we said we weren't trying this month so not too fussed xx

rampantrose · 11/07/2018 17:58

Thanks @Megs87. Honestly feel awful. Even my go too food that helps when I've got a bug and feel sick is making me heave and deff not got any bugs so keeping everything crossed. Will test again Friday/Saturday if no AF!

As for kods and sleep I've always been quite lucky DS is 6 and sleeps roughly 12hrs a night and DD is 3 and usually sleeps quite well too now but she used to be a nightmare used to have to sleep on her bedroom floor if we wanted any sleep! Xx

Wingingit3211 · 11/07/2018 18:47

Mine were awful sleepers too. Made some progress with ds2 who is 3 by bribing him with chocolate to stay in his own bed. Works 3-4 nights a week I’d say. It’s exhausting. I’m cd26. Spotting didn’t turn into anything. Not sure if I’ve ovulated yet or not! We’re just continuing to have sex.
It’ll happen... eventually!

Wingingit3211 · 15/07/2018 09:33

CD33 BFN.

I’m so sick of BFN

I hate PCOS

LittleTipple · 15/07/2018 11:04

Oh @Wingingit3211 I'm sorry it's a BFN. So disheartening, but try to keep the faith. How long did your DC take to conceive? As you've said, at least you've got youth on your side.

I'm 6dpo and not feeling much symptom wise. Had a horrible vivid dream last night and woke up crying. The last time I was pregnant I had similar, so have a little hope that last nights dream could be a good sign! Seem to have increased CM and gurgle tummy, but that's it ( the tummy could easily be the large amount of food I ate yesterday)!
