[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

So this month has been interesting. Shorter and lighter period, skin and weight getting better (except one massive spot that decided to turn up on my son's birthday party). Hadva crampy painful right side (hardly ever get this) and a m7ch darker than usual opks the next morning, but not positive
I really tested through the day and it faded on each test and now I'm only getting my usual pale lines. I think I may have actually ovulated this cycle so FX for a bfp or a shorter cycle and not a 79 day

sodababy2 · 10/06/2018 07:46

12dpo here and nothing yet. Had bad AF pains 8 and 9dpo but they've gone now. I'm away for the weekend with friends and didn't bring my thermometer or any pregnancy tests so trying not to obsess! AF due Tuesday but will probably test tomorrow when I get home.

Good luck everyone!

BadBadBeans · 10/06/2018 09:04

Exciting that you guys are having potential symptoms!

I was slightly dizzy yesterday - which was a sign with both previous pregnancies - but my ic still says negative this morning. I've bought a couple of supermarket tests and will use one for each week that my period doesn't show up, just in case my internet tests are duff. First one will be used tomorrow as my period will then be 8 days late. Sigh!

Angelmiracle · 10/06/2018 09:17

Yeah @Catren27 well if he wants proof I'm going to have to POAS sooner than I planned 😊 Plus I am hoarding 14 hpts 😂 addicted to buying them haha

@Mammyofasuperbaby yeah you prob have ovulated. My line never got as dark as the control but darker than previous days then 2days after lightened again! Got CB solid smiley no flashing smiley the morning after my darker line so I must've O! Good luck for that bfp 🤞

@Badbadbeans sounds promising! 🤞 I wouldn't be confident with the ic either I'd doubt them too!

Good luck tomorrow @sodababy2 hope you had a good weekend with your friends to help distract you a bit!

HidCat · 10/06/2018 13:01

@Mammyofasuperbaby fingers crossed for bfp or at the very least, shorter cycles!

@sodababy2 good luck! Hope you've had a fab weekend!

@BadBadBeans so frustrating!

Peanut1980 · 10/06/2018 15:40

Oh I have my fingers crossed for everyone! Great to hear some symptoms there 🤞🤞🤞 well I made Hubby wait for 3 days for sex hoping I would ovulate today. Got a negative test first thing this morning but Hubby couldn’t wait any longer 🤣 so I’m laying with my legs up against the wall hoping the spermies will all be heading in the right direction 🙏🤣 Will do another ovulation test today to see if I get a positive x

Angelmiracle · 10/06/2018 22:25

🤞🤞 good luck again @Peanut1980 I lie with legs up too! I do not care if people say it's a myth or whatever I'll keep doing it as I've tilted uterus and if I just lie down everything runs out 😂😩😬

BadBadBeans · 11/06/2018 07:17

Well ladies, did a supermarket pink dye test this morning and nothing!

CatRen27 · 11/06/2018 07:28

badbad argghhh so sorry duck, how confusing. Is this the first long cycle you've had? Your body is messing with you big time. Hope it comes soon so you can start trying again.

soda you're my total hero. I've never made it that far without poas, I 2 years! Fingers crossed for you 😊

BadBadBeans · 11/06/2018 07:53

@CatRen27 Thanks! I had the odd 34 or 35 day cycle in the couple of years before I got pregnant with DS, but since he was born and my periods came back (at 10 months because of breastfeeding) my periods had been very reliably 28 or 29 days long. I'm now on day 36! Le sigh. Well, I've sworn to myself that I will stop testing every day. I'll do another internet cheapie test on Thursday, and then another supermarket test a week today. I've got to try to put it out of my mind I think.

Yeah soda, let us know how it goes!

Peanut1980 · 11/06/2018 14:03

@angelmiracle I’m sure we could all write a rather amusing book of our ttc attempts 🤣

Peanut1980 · 11/06/2018 17:42

So ladies, can someone speak to me about temping? I don’t do it but am willing to give it a go. What’s the best app? Thermometer? Would welcome any recommendations xxx

Lookingforadvice123 · 11/06/2018 18:10

Ooh good luck soda, and everyone else who’s testing early this week! My AF is due a week today, I think if I haven’t had any brown spotting (which I always get a few hours/up to a day before AF) by that morning, I’ll go and buy a FRER. They come in packs of 2 so I can always keep it til another month if it’s negative!

ladybug92 · 11/06/2018 20:15

Oo mine is also a week from today @Lookingforadvice123 but I don't know if I can wait! Thinking of poas on the weekend, it has felt like a lucky month but I don't know... Hope I can get a bit distracted and forget in the morning!

HidCat · 11/06/2018 22:08

@Peanut1980 I've just started but the advice seems to be that any BBT thermometer is fine (make sure it's accurate to 2 decimal places). I've got on from babymad on Amazon, cost about £4. I'm not over analysing it so just use Ovia but if you like to get really analytical then Fertility Friend seems to be the app of choice.

CatRen27 · 11/06/2018 22:22

Hey peanut, I use the app fertility friend as it seems to be set up for bbt charting more than the others and gives really good predictions and analysis. It isn't the prettiest though!

You have to wake every day at the same time and take your temp before doing anything (don't sit up even). I just use a normal digital one that goes to one decimal point. It only really works if you've had 3 hours sleep before temping. I sometimes don't get that but you can select "sleep deprived" and it doesn't really count it that day.

Basically you have low temps before ov and then the day after ov they jump up higher for your luteal phase. If it stays high when af is due that's a good sign otherwise it drops back down and af arrives. Really good for confirming ov, better than opks and cm (but you can obvs do all of it and log it). Any questions? Good luck!

sodababy2 · 12/06/2018 08:14

Thanks for all the good luck wishes. Unfortunately AF reared its ugly head at the first sight of a FRER. Only onto cycle 11.

@Peanut1980 I use fertility friend too. It's really good for temping. I've been temping off and on but it's tricky with a toddler who has unpredictable waking patterns as the key with it is consistency. Other thing to remember is that it doesn't predict ovulation but just confirms it's happened which is useful for knowing when to expect AF!

We're going to move forward and get some tests done. I'm not getting any younger and I'm really conscious the age gap is getting bigger and bigger between DD and imaginary next baby. Can anyone help with next steps? GP refuses to refer me as says I need to have been TTC a year following my m/c in February! I'm not waiting that long! Willing to pay for private tests - what should we be doing?

HidCat · 12/06/2018 11:04

@sodababy2 I'm sorry AF showed. Hope you manage to either get some answers or your bfp soon.

CatRen27 · 12/06/2018 11:14

Ahhhh sorry the witch showed up soda, hope you're ok? I Can't give much advice on going private in uk as my gp there said soz we can't help you, you already have a child... we didn't go private until we arrived here in Sydney. Ask for full bloods and a scan, and try and make sure they test amh levels (basically how many eggs you've got left) as part of bloods as i think this sometimes gets left out. Dh will obviously get his swimmers tested (prepare for "woe is me, i feel so violated", or maybe that was just my dh.. you can imagine how many fucks I gave to that.. 👌) good luck and keep us posted on how you get on.

I'll be 9dpo tomorrow so I'm pretty sure I'll be cracking open the ICs with fmu and scrutinizing all the smudgy nothings.. 😂

OP posts:
Tefiti2 · 12/06/2018 13:02

@catren27 I will be 9dpo tomorrow too - have only just ordered some FRERs today to keep me from testing too early 🙈

Angelmiracle · 12/06/2018 13:26

I'm 9 dpo today got bfn with frer this morning!
Not hugely disappointed it's still early days. I've more 'symptoms' than I usually have for pms so wanted to check it out 😁
Will retest Friday or tomorrow 😂
Good luck ladies 🤞💐

Angelmiracle · 12/06/2018 13:27

@sodababy2 sorry af showed 😕💐

Peanut1980 · 12/06/2018 14:21

@sodababy2 sorry to hear about AF. Sending you a big virtual hug.

I saw the Dr this morning to discuss ivf. He’s referring us to some head honcho for the south east who will help us decide which fertility clinic is best for us. Feeling positive but still trying to conceive naturally in the mean time x

Lookingforadvice123 · 12/06/2018 17:54

Sorry to hear that soda. That’s rubbish that you have to have been TTC for a year AFTER a miscarriage, surely it should be a year in total. I would’ve said fib but you can’t really with your records showing a mc!

My friend had some tests done privately initially, before going down the route of IVF, so it’s definitely worth looking in to. Maybe google some local clinics?
