[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

@Lithops sorry your period arrived earlier than you hoped. Really hope that was a blip for you.

@coffeekittens I also miscarried in April. That's good news that you ovulated around the right time! I tried tracking mine but was away for a few days during FW so I either missed it or it didn't happen.

Well my period is one day late but still nothing on an internet cheapie so I think my cycle must have been messed up this month. Going to test every other day until something happens.

@Firsttimer16 maybe just continue to have sec every two to three days just in case?

@lookingforadvice123 I only used the OPK kit more for my peace of mind so that I ‘know’ that I’ve ovulated, silly really as my cycles are very predictable and my boobs are huge and swollen on my actual ovulation day, I think it’s the being desperate to become pregnant again after MC. I was on the pill with DD and my MC so have never tried before.

@badbadbeans sorry to hear about your MC Flowers, fingers crossed that your internet cheapies are playing up, I found tesco own brand blue dye and home bargains tests worked well with my last pregnancy.

Is anyone testing early? The earliest I would be able to test is a week tomorrow, would be 4 days before AF is due.

Lookingforadvice123 · 06/06/2018 10:40

I won’t be testing early, I waited until af was a day late with DS, I had so much willpower, I even waited until the evening! I think this time I’ll wait until AF is late (since coming off the pill this time in Feb I seem to get brown discharge/spotting the day before, so if I don’t get this on cd27 like I have been, I might test on cd28).

Bad I hope you feel more in control soon, hopefully with a BFP!

Firsttimer it's normal to have the occasional anovulatory month. Or you could have missed the surge with your OPKs- I have done that before. I'd carry on every other day as it certainly won't hurt.

coffeekittens I'm sorry to hear about your MC.

@Lithops Sorry you are out. Have you considered taking Vit B6? It can lengthen the LP ? I take 50mg per day. I had 10day LP last month.

@coffeekittens @lookingforadvice123 Also due 18th! Going to Majorca on 16th. Either test Fri 15th or if not brave enough whilst on holiday! Good luck.

coffeekittens · 06/06/2018 11:45

@lookingforadvice123 you have amazing willpower! Even though I my last pregnancies weren’t planned I felt pregnant (or different) before AF was due so tested early (with DD it was 6 days before AF).

@angelmiracle have a fantastic holiday, Majorca is amazing, fingers crossed for you as well!

coffeekittens I’m just tight haha. And superstitious, so I feel like buying tests before AF is late means I won’t be pregnant. Stupid I know!

Hey lovely ladies and welcome all the newcomers. Sounds like there's been some tough times had by many - miscarriages, chemicals and premmies, you strong bunch of women. Hope you're all feeling okay and hopeful for this month.

I'm now 3dpo and have had a SERIOUS temperature spike higher than previous months so have taken that to mean I'm absolutely definitely preggers.. lol.. I will try with all my might to last until the 15th to test as I'm so sick of staring at ICs at 9dpo.

We managed to dtd the day before, day of and day after ovulation which makes me feel hopeful that we're in the running. And I actually enjoyed all of it, which was the main thing!

Sorry to hear AF came lithops, that's a pretty short luteal phase, so maybe look to Dr Google for vitamins etc that could help lengthen it?

And hello Mayago! Nice to see you here, sorry you're not sure about the costs of acupuncture. How often were you thinking of doing it? I was going in 2-3 times a week last month and it was EXPENSIVE but I don't think it was strictly necessary.. I mean it's all quack science isn't it so who knows what is necessary. I read an article in the Guardian that was saying that the actual acupuncture treatment is no more effective in achieving pregnancy than placebo treatment, but that having any treatment at all was more effective than nothing so just the extra emotional support, relaxation and 'me time' seemed to make a difference. I'll see if I can find a link.

Who's next to test??

Hi all

Could I ask what day you ovulated on?
I got my peak CD 16 so ovulated CD17/18 perhaps.

Someone said today that's too long?! I thought as long as my LP is 10days+ which it usually is that's the main thing?

Report
HidCat · 06/06/2018 19:04

@Angelmiracle I ovulate around CD18 as I have a 32 ish day cycle. I think a 10 day luteal phase is generally ok although shorter than average.

Angelmiracle · 06/06/2018 19:26

Thanks @HidCat
Hopefully its nothing to be concerned about but will ask consultant at next apptm if still no bfp. LP should be 12days this month though!

mayago · 06/06/2018 20:02

I think I'm usually CD 14, and my cycle is 26-28 days Angelmiracle My positive OPK is usually day 13, so I'm assuming O day is the following one. I had a couple of short luteal phases, but stopping my multivitamin sorted that out.

CatRen I think I was advised to go weekly for 6 weeks. I have an open mind, but am trying to save myself from the expense this month. I think I'd rather have a weekly spa day to provide some relaxation and 'me' time!!

Only CD 11 here, so testing seems a long way off yet!

I've just been reading up on cycles becoming irregular after miscarriage and it has made me feel a bit miserable! I really want my period to hurry up and come now. I'm going to order another batch of opks too, despite having not got on with them this cycle.

@CatRen27 ooo i hope you are pregnant! Good luck x

coffeekittens · 06/06/2018 20:41

@badbadbeans AF can take up to 8 weeks to return after a MC, I haven’t read about them causing irregular cycles though. It feels like forever waiting for your cycles to regulate again after MC it’s miserable, be kind to yourself Flowers

Hi everyone, I'm feeling a little less glum now, partly because I finally found my charting from last time around. I did the ovulate fairly late (CD18/19), but never as late as CD 24. I did, however, seem to have the odd strange cycle e.g. one of 24 days when I ovulated somewhere around day 17, so hoping that this CD24 ovulation was just another weird blip and doesn't necessarily mean I'm doomed. Thanks, Angelmiracle for the vit B6 tip - I'll give that a go! My understanding has always been that it doesn't matter too much when you ovulate as long as you have a LP of at least 10 days, preferably longer. I don't think CD18 or so is anything like too late, but I'm not an expert!
CatRen I'm excited for you about your temperature peak! Fingers crossed for later this month.

I think things are going well. My hormones seem to be calming down now as my spots are clearing up, my skin condition is clearing too. My periods are now shorter and lighter and the excess weight is falling off with little effort. This happened about a year before I conceived ds so hopefully these are great signs

Hi all, not been around much as had poorly toddler to contend with!

Finally got a blaring positive OPK on CD17 and according to temps I ovulated on CD19 which is very late for me - usually it's CD14 or CD15. So if I did ovulate CD19 I'm 9dpo today and I usually have 13 day luteal phase. Got really bad AF pains plus low temps the last couple of days so I'm guessing I'm having a really odd cycle and AF will be here super early. Totally fed up and miserable of TTC now.

I have acupuncture for those interested - I have it twice a month - around ovulation and around supposed implantation. I enjoy it but it's clearly not working so far.

Sorry for miserable post!

@sodababy2 don't forget PMs and pregnancy symptoms start the same way so you're not out yet. 🤞

Hey everyone. Just checking in. Due to ovulate this weekend. Dtd today but will now leave it until
Ovulation day which should be Sunday/Monday. Just because of hubbys sperm count. Need to let his stock replenish 🤣 he’s reducing his drinking and is getting back into the gym so hopefully that and his supplements will help him spermies although we really have a couple of months to wait for that to take affect. Not yet got a move date for new house but should be early July. Just need to get in there and then can kick off ivf discussions. How we’ll chose a clinic I don’t know 🙈 Anyway, still hoping for a natural BFP before then 🤞

Good luck to you all. Would be lovely to see some bfps on this group this month xx

@angelmiracle - after my post above I got a positive OPK at ch 23! It was my last OPK before I quit til next month! So I imagine I won’t ovulate until cd25 or so 😳
Of course the Cp messed everything up so a bit more unusual! Unsure when I should expect af now...14 days from now or still in 8 days or so?! Hoping next month back on track.

Fingers crossed over the next few weeks we get some bfp...

Angelmiracle · 07/06/2018 22:27

@Firsttimer16 no way!! Sounds like your CP has just thrown your cycle off this time? All being well you ovulate earlier next month. But if your LP is long enough you never know stranger things have happened!! Good luck.

It will be lovely to hear someones BFP!

Hey peanut hope he makes loads of swimmers and this is your month! Does he feel any extra pressure about all this or taking it in his stride? (Btw autocorrect just tried to have me write "taking it in his strudel" which sounds a tad more delicious if not slightly menacing... 😂🥐)

Absolutely zero to report here. No symptoms obviously at 4dpo so trying to distract myself. Its a long weekend coming up and dh will be away with work so looking after dd will keep me distracted no doubt!

Cant believe we don't have any bfps due until the middle of the month.. I would LOVE to have a happy thread of feb due dates. 🤞🤞🤞

Firsttimer sorry your cycle's a bit messed up this month. If you ovulate later then you count the days from ov with normal luteal phase length (14 days is it?) rather than using your normal cycle length to estimate af/bfp. Fertility friend will usually do this calculation but maybe other apps don't?
