The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

I'm amazed you've resisted today @mayago! I definitely wouldn't have managed! Am still taking pregnancy tests!

No plans today, but I'm on my own with DD.

It's been 9 months TTC now, and we'll be taking a (maybe permanent) break. If we magically fell pregnant in the next couple of cycles I'd be going back to work at a difficult time. Which isn't helping the ever growing age gap. I don't know what to do really.

Testing in the morning but not hopeful as any symptoms that were there have disappeared in a puff of smoke. This is driving me nuts, I fell pregnant straight away with DS but this time round I've only had 4 afs in 8 months and I don't think it bodes well for ttc

The test couldn't be more negative if it tried. @LathargicButAwesome, I have no idea they've been like that since I was 12. They suddenly became regular when I was 20 and that lasted till I had the implant put in after DS. My body rejected it and it was causing no end of problems like no stop bleeding so it was removed Dec 2017 and I'm back to where I started. I've had bloods done and ultrasounds when I was 15 to try and figure out why but all they say is go on the pill but that doesn't help with TTC and my current Dr has told me that hormonal contraception is a bad idea for me due to the way my body reacted to a tiny dose of projestero e

Just had my nurses appointment at the clinic to hear the details of the eye wateringly expensive ivf process.. bejesus. I'm 9dpo now so if this isn't our month I'll be starting my injections next week.

Sorry you're having to make some hard decisions @mayago. Obviously it's your choice how you do things but i don't know that there's an ideal age gap and families come in all shapes and sizes so hopefully you get the time to think and decide what is best for you. Sending hugs your way x

Well I'm on CD16 now.

Been using the advanced clearblue opks and had Low fertility since CD9; even with the last 3 days of wet cm and ewcm.
Was expecting the flashing smiley, especially yesterday, but nothing. BD Saturday and yesterday anyway as I had a feeling.
Then today I got my static smiley... Whilst I'm happy I can read my body and I'm ovulating. I may as well have bought the standard version, as it didn't give me any high days 🙈 x

Thanks for asking @CatRen27, I've had no bleeding since last Wednesday. The doctor won't refer me for a scan so I've booked a private one for the 17th. At least I'll know one way or another then.

Hi @CatRen27 thanks for asking after me. I'm doing well so far. I'm quite anxious - I think it's probably normal when you've been wanting something for so long and especially after my chemical. I've done a few more tests and got really good lines so trying to keep away now. My boobs hurt and I've got this horrible taste in my mouth which I remember well from DC1 so I'm taking it as a positive sign. I really hope you get your BFP before IVF xx

@Treaclepie19 I've been thinking about you. Great news about no more bleeding. FX for your scan. I'm definitely going to book one for reassurance at 7 weeks if things are still going well at that point.

@mayago I'm so sorry it wasn't the result you hoped for. A break (whether or not it's permanent) may do you a bit of good. I know what you mean about age gaps. I've been convinced that a 2 year gap would be great so was aiming for that. But DC1 is 2 next month! I hope you're being kind to yourself.

@Pudding01 I used the monitor with first pregnancy. It did the same to me the first couple of cycles and then I think it got used to my patterns and worked itself out!

I'm just starting to feel rather old for this now (37 next month). I definitely don't have the energy I did when DD was a newborn, and I worry where I'd be if I picked this up in 6 months! I worry about having a super stressful maternity leave (I get 18 weeks paid, and that's all we can afford me to do) as I have a big project each October-December. My assistant has joked about leaving if I left her on her own for it.. I should just say screw work, and keep on going, but I'm seriously torn and always imagining the worst case scenarios.

Still waiting for AF. She was expected yesterday or today, but tests are still negative so I know what's coming. Not sure if the test Friday was a dud, but I could see something on a couple of cheapies around then too, so it could have been worlds' shortest CP? I've resolved to stop buying FRERs if we keep trying - would save so much heart ache!

Sorry you're still feeling anxious @Sodababy2. Were you thinking about an early scan?

@CatRen27 when are you testing? Fingers crossed this is your month, and you can avoid IVF! I can just imagine what the costs are...

Thank you @mayago. I'm going to be making a drs appointment to try and get to the bottom of my issues. I don't think I'm ovulating properly as I never get positive opks at all but I have a lot more info than when I was 15 so I may get somewhere at 24 instead

Sorry about your bfn @mamiofasuperbaby I'm joining the bfn camp meant to start af in a few days so tested - couldn't help myself and nothing, just using a standard pg test tho not a frer so stupidly just hoping even tho I know I will not be, hoping September will be a lucky month.

@catren I really hope you don't have to go through ivf and it happens this time, you hear stories of how that happens all the time I hope ou become one of these stories

@maya ttc is so stressful, I know with dc1 I got pg after 18months when I thought sod it tests are all booked in we will have to justsee what happens maybe getting rid of the stress element maybe easier for you. In terms of work, I have had a lot of advice from very senior women at my firm, they are indeed very successful but a few years ago one of them had a heart to heart with me sharing that she wished she could trade it, that she had put things on hold because she felt embarrassed or that it wasn't the right time with work and she had left it too late. When we are in it it seems like the most important thing but in hindsight we may think differently, I'm babbling I know...it's because I'm in a similar situation - work wise would make sense to stop trying and wait atleast 4 months but I've taken the plunge and decided what will be will be and we'll have to be creative and think of something should he worst come to it.

T minus 2 days until testing here....had some food aversion last night and felt sick this morning so who knows. It is probably my mind playing tricks on me though and I'll be faced with a stark white test!

Yes @mayago - I'll definitely look to get an early scan for reassurance. Probably around 7 weeks assuming all going well. It all seems such a long way off! How are you feeling now? I do know how rubbish TTC is and the worry of getting older and age gaps etc. I'm 36 very soon and this was cycle 12 for me. Thinking of you x

@sodababy that's such an exciting phone call to make! Must be such a relief.

Bfn for me today. I'm not super sure where i am dpo wise, ff thinks 11 dpo but that would have made such an early ovulation it just doesn't feel right, and i wasnt great at temping this month. Af should surely be here by next Tuesday i think so we'll see how it goes.

Started spotting last night and af is due any day now, all tests are bfn so looks like I'm out :(

AF arrived at the worst possible time for me (commuting on an office day), but at least it was expected. Trying not to eat myself into carb-livion and still debating trying again next month..
