[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

Hey all, we have a toddler and we have just decided to start TTC for #2 this month once pesky AF is over. I found being part of these threads a great support when TTC #1 Smile how is everybody doing?

LethargicButAwesome · 09/07/2018 12:43

@mammy how often do you test and is it when you get the double line you know your fertile? I bought them last time but they didn't work for me, so a little put off.

@hishashi, hang on in there, just remember POAS doesn't change the result ....

LethargicButAwesome · 09/07/2018 12:45

@angel do you find CB more accurate ?

CatRen27 · 09/07/2018 13:02

Hello and welcome @glamourbear! When are you due af/bfp?

There's no bloody way I could wait until af. I'm not even going to bother trying. See you tomorrow morning with a stark white bfn! 😂

GlamourBear · 09/07/2018 13:05

Thanks @CatRen27! BFP could appear at the end of July if we're lucky! Currently at the end of this AF so should be ovulating next week although my cycles are a little random!

Angelmiracle · 09/07/2018 13:37

@Lethargicbutawesome yes I do find them more reliable. Test line becomes darker for lh surge on cheapies but not as dark as control. However when I got my static smiley on CB opk you can remove the stick - and the test line was the same colour as control. When you get your high fertility (flashing smiley) on CB opk you can test twice per day. I always get my surge in late evening/night. Ic opk are cheap you can use 3 times per day so it helps me gauge when to start using CB opk!

mayago · 09/07/2018 14:18

AF is due here around Saturday. I've started taking B6 and extra vitamin C this cycle in the hopes of a longer luteal phase. Any ideas how much of a delay, if any, I can expect with AF? I'll have to test before, otherwise I'll be going crazy with wonder! This has been an odd cycle anyhow, so wasn't the best to start fooling with it..

Welcome glamourbear! fingers crossed for a July BFP for you.

GlamourBear · 09/07/2018 14:40

Thanks @mayago! Trying to be more relaxed about it this time but it's so hard. Fingers crossed you get your bfp!

Mammyofasuperbaby · 09/07/2018 19:35

@LathargicButAwesome I test daily and twice a day as the test line gets darker. My cycle is all over the place so I test daily to make sure I catch my fertile period. I've attached a diagram of opk test results hopefully it'll help.

sodababy2 · 09/07/2018 19:50

Thanks all. @LethargicButAwesome I'm on cycle 12 now.

We're awaiting DH's SA results. I'm ok but I have borderline low ovarian reserve and I'm coming up to 36 so have decided not to wait much longer.

@CatRen27 - yes, we've booked our treatment consultation for August and then we can start the IVF cycle at next AF - start of September most likely. I'm hoping that paying £1k non refundable deposit will invoke law of sod and I'll get natural BFP!!

I use the one step cheapies as well and they work fine for me. Have confirmed a few times on more expensive ones.

sodababy2 · 09/07/2018 19:51

@CatRen27 - are you doing IVF soon too? (Hopefully you wont need to obviously!) What are your plans?

LethargicButAwesome · 09/07/2018 23:53

Hi Soda, did you have to test privately to find out you have a low ovarian reserve ? Have you had your fish levels tested ?

Angelmiracle · 10/07/2018 00:42

@mayago I took B6 for a few months - it made my LP 1 day longer each month 10, 11 and its now 12! Good luck. Im now just taking a preconception multivitamin.

CatRen27 · 10/07/2018 02:02

Hey @soda yep we're also booked in for our nurses appointment in August, so we might be cycle buddies! We'll most likely do the egg retrieval early Sep then a frozen cycle early Oct. We haven't paid anything yet, but maybe i should throw them some cash to tempt fate! Hopefully we won't need it but would be nice to have someone to go through it with x

Bfn this morning as expected, 9dpo so still early days. Glad I'm looking after dd today to keep me distracted and away from the ICs!

OP posts:
BadBadBeans · 10/07/2018 07:38

@CatRen27 it is v early days indeed! I was a bit tempted this morning - I woke up at 5am when our bedroom door banged in tbe breeze, and I thought it would be a golden opportunity to POAS and actually have time to wait to see the results develop rather than getting called away to deal with breakfast / soiled nappy / etc! But then i remembered that when I've had positives they have been really really faint even on the day before my period is due. So I'm unlikely to see anything for a few days yet. Ideally I would test on Fri 13th but would that be bad juju?! Especially as my miscarriage was confirmed by a scan on Fri 13th...!

mayago · 10/07/2018 10:13

Thank you @Angelmiracle It's nice to know what to expect!

@CatRen27 9dpo is still rather early. But I'll be in the same boat in a few days!

@BadBadBeans Friday 13th could be a positive day yet; maybe you need to reclaim it!

CatRen27 · 10/07/2018 10:26

Thanks @badbad and @mayago, yes definitely too early but I literally have no self control when it comes to POAS so it's just something I have to go through each month..!! I'm so so tired at the moment with dd3 waking up through the night every bloody night (can't remember the last time i had a night of unbroken sleep...). So I have fobbed her off for a sleepover at her grandparents' place this afternoon and had a nap! Looking forward to a BIG sleep tonight and to start feeling normal again. I'm seeing this as a parenting win Grin

I'm with mayago @badbad, reclaim that day!

CatRen27 · 11/07/2018 00:34

Daily poas update - bfn! A bit sad as 10dpo was when my faint positives were coming up last month. Do you guys know if the first day of a bfp changes cyvle to cycle? Clutching at straws..! I'll keep testing until af so keeping my fingers crossed

OP posts:
BadBadBeans · 11/07/2018 08:23

Oh @CatRen27 I came on here with my fingers crossed for a BFP from you. I'm sure there could easily be a couple of days difference for getting a BFP. Might have implanted a day or two later - or even just a few hours later.

I think I have wound myself up to a point where I am expecting a BFP on Friday. How silly is that? It's so hard not to hope and dream though!

sodababy2 · 11/07/2018 08:53

@LethargicButAwesome I had FSH tested by GP. They said it was fine but I knew from mad googling it was borderline. I went to private clinic who confirmed that and also did antral follicle count for ovarian reserve.

@CatRen27 sorry about bfn. I definitely think it just depends when it implants though so doesn't mean you wouldn't get a BFP later. Can I ask why you plan to do frozen in October rather than fresh all at once? Did your clinic suggest that?

CatRen27 · 11/07/2018 09:47

Hey @soda it was suggested by the clinic. The success rates are identical between fresh and frozen (at this clinic, not sure its the same everywhere) and I'm at risk of ovary hyperstimulation so they'll want to give my body a rest before implanting the next month. I haven't had the full details but understand theres a treatment plan in place for as soon as we come back from hols in early Aug. Have you been advised either way?

OP posts:
Angelmiracle · 11/07/2018 09:48

@CatRen27 definitely still early days for you I really hope you get your BFP and don't have to go to that appointment 🤞🤞

@Badbadbeans it's great to be positive but I know what you mean I really hope Friday is your BFP day!! 🤞🤞

I'm 4dpo feeling perfectly normal 🤣 Serious bloating in the evening but that's the usual after the increase in progesterone. I'm trying to remain neutral this month and not think too much about anything lol! Will see how long that lasts 🙈

CatRen27 · 11/07/2018 09:54

Thanks @Badbad and @angel, I'm not feeling too bad really, it would be a bit of a coup if we did manage to conceive after only the one shag..

@Badbad I'm also expecting your bfp on Friday so.. you'd better deliver!! 😅

@angel nice work avoiding the dreadful symptom spotting, I'm a bit the same this cycle - feel totally normal, literally nothing to report.
