[... Insert jazzier title here!]

The bus is still running, we're sick of bastard bfns, and crossing fingers (and some) for Feb 2019 babies. Come join!

I'm 35 yo
DD is 3yo
Cycle 25 (urgh!!)
Af/bfp due 18th June

After a few months charting and opk-ing, I've decided to chuck it all out and try and dtd every other day. Eek. Only two more cycles until we start ivf in August so crossing fingers we can get a natural bfp before then. Here's hoping!

@Mammyofasuperbaby vitamins and supplements can help - vitamins C, D, either B6 or Bcomplex (women have different experiences with one or the other). I took Angus Castus ttc DS many women swear by it but it's not agreeing with me 2nd time around. Ubiquinol (Co enzyme Q10) and evening primrose oil. Might be worth a try but it is expensive buying all that on a monthly basis Confused

loveisland · 30/06/2018 07:03

@Mammyofasuperbaby definitely listen to the lady @Angelmiracle those little things all help.

Thanks for all the support, I had my coil out start of May then af come first of June. So 1 proper cycle. I used ovia to check my dates. I've actually fell quicker then DD she was a few months!

Mammyofasuperbaby · 30/06/2018 07:28

I've used all of these before @Angelmiracle and the results were horrible or did absolutely nothing unfortunately.
My body has a strange cycle where one cycle is around 28 days then 40, then 80 and then back to 28ish. I don't know why it does this but it's only something I've recently realised.
Frankly I'm surprised I have my son and fell so quickly with him.

BadBadBeans · 30/06/2018 13:27

Congratulations @loveisland! Such lovely news. Hope you have celebrated with a relaxing day in the sun!

I'm hoping for a positive ovulation test today or tomorrow as that would mean my cycle would be back on track. @Mammyofasuperbaby it must be so hard to have such unpredictable cycles. I'm finding it extremely frustrating - it's making me feel out of control. Grr!

DS has been pushing and testing all day long and in this heat I am struggling to remain patient! He's just gone down for a nap so I am enjoying a breather.

Mammyofasuperbaby · 30/06/2018 13:44

It is super frustrating isn't it @BadBadBeans.
My DS has been driving me mad today aswell plus my DM and DSis are moving down the country today so I'm feeling very delicate as apart from DP and D's they are my only reliable family and supported me through my last pregnancy which nearly killed me and ds

BadBadBeans · 30/06/2018 14:50

@Mammyofasuperbaby I think everything is made harder in the heat too! I can totally understand you feeling a bit fragile. Can you do something in the next few days to treat yourself? Even if it's just an hour off child care hanging out with a friend in a beer garden?

In happy news, I have just done an ov test (internet cheapie) and it looks positive to me. Will post a pic when the colour has totally settled. It's bang on the right day for my usual cycle length so I am feeling REALLY good! Now then, TTC experts. Today is CD15 and I have just had my positive OPK. We DTD the night before last and last night, so CD13 and 14. Would it be a bad idea or a good idea to DTD tonight as well? I know that sperm takes a couple of days to replenish, but... Surely chucking a few more up there, even if it's a reduced number, can't hurt?! Right?!

BadBadBeans · 30/06/2018 14:53

Here you go. Excuse the sticky label adhesive - can't find the sellotape!

Badbadbeans...I'm sure your OH won't mind...go for it 😀

Pudding01 · 30/06/2018 16:52

@BadBadBeans go get BD'ing! 😉😆
I'm doing the SMEP and that says every day for 3 days when you get your +opk, so I don't think you going again tonight will do any harm x

sodababy2 · 30/06/2018 19:43

Definitely positive @BadBadBeans!

Go for it - I'm sure I read on fertility friend that every time you DTD increases your chances. You should only hold off if OH has low sperm count.

Angelmiracle · 30/06/2018 20:18

Looking good @Badbadbeans go for it Grin

BadBadBeans · 30/06/2018 21:30

Cheers ladies! Now just got to locate DH who is pottering somewhere out in the garden and has no knowledge of this ovulation test excitement 😂

Treaclepie19 · 01/07/2018 06:41

I bet that was a nice surprise for him :p
I'm imagining you running out test in hand to find him.

BadBadBeans · 01/07/2018 07:28

@Treaaclepie19 😂 I didn't tell him about the opk till afterwards actually as I didn't want him to feel under pressure! I guess technically we should DTD tonight as well. This is turning into a bit of a shagathon! It's the honeymoon we never had 😂

Treaclepie19 · 01/07/2018 08:05

Haha! Good idea.
TTC certainly keeps us active 😂

BadBadBeans · 01/07/2018 19:49

FFS, I just realised that I haven't taken any folic acid for about five or six weeks. Never mind. I'll start again today...

My opk this afternoon has gone back to a faint line, so yesterday was definitely the surge, making today probably the day I've ovulated. Hoping that having DTD the last three days in a row will have done the trick because I don't think it'll be happening again tonight!

CatRen27 · 01/07/2018 22:51

Congratulations @loveisland! 💐

@Badbad nice work on timings, glad your cycle is back to normal now! Fingers crossed 🤞

Im having the strangest cycle. 7 day long period, longer than normal, and then spotted for 3 days. I've struggled to accurately temp as dd has been sleeping terribly but it looks like i ovulated yesterday on cd 14, 4 days earlier than usual..! Arrgghh! Thank goodness we dtd on cd13, couldn't last night as i was in the death throes of food poisoning (worst timing ever!).. i had more fresh blood yesterday though as if early on af so not sure if that is ovulation bleeding or what the af is happening.. I'm pretty annoyed we missed dtd yesterday but will try tonight just in case.

No watery cm, no ovulation pains or usual signs. Nada! So ill keep temping and dtd in case.

Congratulations loveisland!! So lovely to hear some positive news.

So happy you've got the positive opk Bad. I'm currently waiting for mine, which should have been today. No cramping or anything yet, so I am behind this month. For the first month in the last 6 Hmm

CatRen not sure what is going on with strange cycles this month. I'd say it was weather related, as all things seem to be, but that's not so much the case where you are Wink Do you normally get ovulation bleeding? Fingers crossed you caught it this time around.

I think I'm going to have to cave and buy a new batch of OPKs. I was hoping I wouldn't need them after this month, but if my cycle isn't playing fair then I think I'd rather have them just in case.

sodababy2 · 02/07/2018 17:10

Congratulations @loveisland 🎉

Sorry about your strange cycle @CatRen27 No advice really, I guess just keep DTD in case?

I'm 8dpo. No symptoms. Just feel pissed off and like we're hurtling towards IVF. Just heard from my best NCT friend and she's pregnant again. I feel so jealous and miserable

sodababy2 · 02/07/2018 17:12

@mayago did you have a chemical last cycle? That could delay ovulation a bit. My cycles were a bit wonky for a couple of months after my m/c. Hope it happens soon for you!

Treaclepie19 · 02/07/2018 17:39

Oh gosh CatRen hope you're feeling better now!

mayago · 02/07/2018 20:57

soda no symptoms doesn't mean you're out this month. I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Yes, chemical last month. Another one of my baby group with DD posted her positive test the day I started getting negatives. It really does feel like a swift kick in the ovaries.

CatRen27 · 03/07/2018 23:03

Hi all, thanks for well wishes I'm all better now. Missed dtd the day after ov (last possible opportunity!) as dh came home at 1am from work so i was pretty annoyed with him.. seriously he has one job to do..! My temps have confirmed I'm now 3dpo and having dtd only once in the fw I'm feeling pretty rubbish about it. How the hell was I to know I'd ovulate 4 days early?? Maybe it was the chemical last month messing with me..

HidCat · 04/07/2018 07:06

@CatRen27 that sucks hun, just remember that it only takes the once!

CatRen27 · 04/07/2018 08:41

Thanks @hidcat hopefully we're still in for a chance.

I've just remembered that i was taking some prednisone, a steroid to reduce that allergy rash i had, and it turns out it can mess with your cycle... In worst cases can stop ovulation, so thankfully it didn't do that but i think its the cause of funny cycle. Why my gp didn't think to let me know is beyond me!
