TTC First Baby! Anyone else?!

Hi Ladies.

Anyone else on their first cycle and TTCing?! I'm seeing all these beautiful posts about ladies getting pregnant and how they have bonded with people on here soooo, thought I'd make one at the start on my journey!

Hope you don't mind me joining you ladies!

I'm on cycle 1, although we were trying last year then I was made redundant so had to find a new job. Now ready to go again! I had my implant out in September and my periods were super regular after (which was a nice surprise as they were not regular at all before!) Until we got to the last two cycles where they have been 31 days then 25 randomly.

I'm using the Ovia app to track and told myself I wouldn't use ovulation tests this time yet... well I've already started taking them this week Haha!

So glad I found this group first one in my circle of friends to be going for this and they super supportive but don’t have a clue how I’m feeling thank you guys! Xxx

Right ladies. I need your help.

When do I test?! I'm in two minds. Two pharmacists told me to do it now but I'm like a week and a few days away from when my period would normally be.
Should I do one this week and one next or wait longer? :(

If you think you ovulated on the 17th then I think it's too early to test, you'd literally be peeing money away as it's likely to be a BFN and you won't want the disappointment from it. The stats I found say that only 3.6% of women who were actually pregnant came up with a positive at 6DPO. At 9DPO it almost hits 50%, then 66% got a positive at 10DPO, so if you can hold off a few more days you're less likely to get a false negative. Quite how accurate the results are I don't know as it seems to be based on stories rather than research. www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/

I'm due on next Wed, and have promised my OH that I will wait until Monday to test. That will be 12DPO as I think I ovulated the day before you. Try and hold out a few more days, you can do it!

Would it be too early for me to do Monday the same day as you then? Xx

No, I think that would be ok as you'd be 11DPO, some people would test with a FRER at 9DPO but it would be lovely to have a test buddy on Monday if you can wait that long :) xx

So wanting to take a test but need to be patient and wait till next week.
Feeling ok. But have a lot of bloating and crampy feelings in my tummy. Boobs are still heavy and nipples sore when I touch them xxx

@Delilah7 it's all sounding positive but I totally understand you don't want to get your hopes up! Admire you for resisting to take a test until next week!

I've convinced myself that I'm getting symptoms, boobs are sore and that's unusual. I finished my withdrawal bleed on 16th may after coming off the pill, which means it's unlikely I've even ovulated yet so it's extremely unlikely to be anything! I think I'm gonna find this tougher than I thought to be honest xx

@sachabloom I'm not getting obsessed but I am so sure I am. Like I said I know what boob pain feels like and my nipples are never this sore. Trust me it's hard!! Wanna tell my dad on his birthday he's a grandad but that won't happen hahaha.

Oh Hun, well I guess never say never, tbh I'm with you. I'm finding the suspense and the thoughts that go through your head quite hard xxx

So. I spoke to a doctor. They said I could very much be pregnant. But to take one this week and one in two weeks time as I might be negative now but positive in a few weeks.... she said that because I missed my pills first off and had my 7 day break too I could be from that aswell as when I ovulated which confused me as I thought you couldn't when you don't ovulate 😂😂

@Delilah7 that is really confusing! I thought I'd only be able to catch from this upcoming ovulation, I didn't think I'd catch from when I stopped taking my pill?! Who knows what's going on then haha xx

When are you intending on testing now? Xx

@sachabloom I'm gonna test Friday morning as I'm off work then so gonna do it then with a clearblue and then if it's negative wait till I'm 6 days before I'm due and take a FRER. Sound like a good plan? Xxx

@sachabloom I don't think he's bothered. But I'm scared it won't work as well as I haven't gone for my morning pee. Should I just do it now xxx
