TTC #2 - April Showers Bring May BFPs! (Hopefully)

Hope it's ok for me to start the next edition of the TTC #2 thread :) if there's another one already point me in that direction please AF arrived today so I am out for the month :( but fingers crossed next month will be the month for all of us :)

My stats:

Age: 23
DC: 4yo DD
Cycle: 3 (6 week mc in January)
BFP due: 12th May

I'm going to try temping this month. We did a half-hearted version of SMEP last month but my night shifts at work got in the way. Fingers crossed!

Annnd I'm out. Period starting (albeit slowly) but it's here. Onwards and upwards!

I had a BFN yesterday, and AF turned up early today. And maybe a half dozen new baby bombs. Feeling all kinds of sorry for myself tonight.

I've priced acupuncture in my area, and it's £55 for the first session, then £40 after that, and recommended weekly treatments for 4-6 weeks min. Does that sound about right? Seems a lot to spend for such a short period of time..

Your DH does sound very level headed Twittle. I'm sorry you're going through this, but maybe taking a wee break is for the best until you have some answers

mayago pants! sorry to read that. Hope AF didn't catch you out. I hate that. FX for next cycle. You got anything nice planned for bank holiday? Think I'm gonna use this bank holiday to treat myself. And yeah DH is level headed, sometimes he does know best. For my pre labour acupuncture (that I never had a chance to have lol) it was priced at £20 for half hour.

My boobs are absolutely freaking killing me so assuming ovulation is imminent - opk was positive this morning so going for the every other day dtd approach - c'monnnn May!

Still feeling crummy here; hopefully I'll be back to normal again soon. Still not out for May; BFP now due on the 27th. My parents are staying with us during fertile week, and our bedroom is directly above theirs

AF turned up on 11DPO. I wish I could justify the cost of acupuncture right now, as I'd like to try it. I'm wary of taking supplements as I'm still BF DD. It seems each month my cycles are getting shorter through the luteal phase!

Nothing nice planned for the holiday Twittle; OH is working in the evening, but maybe we'll head to the beach! What is everyone else planning?

At cd18 I've FINALLY got a opk+ after testing since cd11. 😂 I thought i got it few days ago so thankfully the last few days of dtd still count! DH fell asleep inn DDs bed last night so we're on for tonight.

mayago oh hope they don't mind the noise of you DTD!! FX they just sleep through it haha. Sorry to read you are feeling crummy. And so so odd that your luteal phase is getting shorter! That isn't meant to really vary, has there been any changes lately in your lifestyle? Btw I started taking Vit B to lengthen mine as was on the shorter side at 10/11 days, now its 11/12 days. Maybe worth a go?

I'm still taking pregnacare breastfeeding, which has Vit B and folic acid amongst other things. I have been taking this for the last 15 months though, so it shouldn't be changing things around now! I'm almost out, and not sure if I should shell out for more.. Nothing else has changed. I think I'll have to make an appointment with my GP.

Twittle my mum is pretty hard of hearing, so there's that at least! We're away for what should be ovulation day, so hopefully it's less stressful then.

Maybe take extra Vit B6 as long as you don't exceed the daily dose? Are you only using OPKs to test for Ov? They predict the few days in which Ov could happen and really are notorious for being unreliable. Worth chatting to your DR though for peace of mind. As long as your luteal phase is above 10 days you will be fine xx

Cycle 15 (miscarriage in July)

Sooo we just had our offer accepted on a new house this week. Yay! We’re going to keep on ttc naturally but Hubby has said we can start looking at ICSI once we’ve moved into our new house which I should imagine will be in 2 months time (moving date not yet confirmed). Hubby had semen analysis done last week and his results showed a very low sperm count. He’s started taking supplements this week so would still be nice to get that BFP trying naturally. I’m due to ovulate around 12th May. So this time we’re going to leave it 3 days between ttc and on the 12th I’m going to quickly pop in a menstrual cup to see if that helps the sperm stay in the right place. I doubt it will work but if there was a chance patting your head and rubbin your belly at the same time also worked I’d certainly give it a go. I’ll try anything! 🤣😜

Hey peanut congratulations on the house and happy belated birthday! Exciting times. And good news you guys can start icsi, sorry to hear dhs count is low but looks like you guys have a plan in place. Keep on ttc - love the idea of patting head, rubbing belly, maybe also standing on your head?

We've just had our ivf- related test results back and everything looks good, to the point that we're going to start in a few months after trying a bit longer and coming back from holiday. My amh level is 85, really high for my age (35) so that's a plus - not running out of eggs like I'd feared.

I'm 4dpo today, doing the lovely waiting game. Trying to keep busy and will test in a week or so once i pass the 10dpo stage. Fingers crossed everyone! X

CatRen27 brilliant news on your AMH levels and yeah hopefully you wont need to go down the IVF route but great its ready for you to start it if need be. Who knows, perhaps the holiday might be a good place to get lucky. Also in the waiting game here, day ahead at 5dpo!

Hey guys, just checking in. My period started yesterday, 9 days after my miscarriage bleed finished. I had a feeling I'd get a period quickly, but not quite this quickly! I am now unsure whether or not I want to start trying straight after it finishes. Definitely going to get going on the OPKs though so I can see what's going on.

TwittleBee sorry you're having such a horrid time with the pain. Really hope you get some answers about it soon.

Peanut1980 Congrats on the house! Sorry about the sperm count but I guess at least it's helpful to know there's a reason and that it's something you (or at least your DH!) can do something to try and improve.

@CatRen27 glad things look good for you - that must have given you a bit of a boost :)

BadBadBeans hey again lovely! Bitter sweet there about AF coming soon after miscarriage bleed. Good shout about OPKs to see what is happening and maybe just take it easy? Just DTD for the enjoyment rather than TTC this cycle? And thank you, tests on Friday and Scan on 22nd, scared but also just focusing on how I'm gonna get some answers hopefully

Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time @badbadbeans. I think I had my period shortly after my miscarriage last year. Not quite 9 days but it was two weeks. I couldn’t believe i ovulated one week after the miscarriage. It’s so tough. Sending you a big hug. Just let your body and mind recover 😘

twittle good luck with the tests and scans, hope you're not too worried about it all and it helps you find some answers. Not knowing is the hardest!

My update is that we've decided to hold off ivf until August when we're back from holiday and can fully focus on it. It also gives us a few months to ttc naturally in the meantime. Ill be diligently testing on Monday, its mothers day here on Sunday so can't deal with a bfn that day.

Everyone else doing ok? Any poas-ers soon?

Oh and peanut yep, 85 was my pmol/l level

Well we had some bad news on Tuesday...routine app at the fertility hospital to discuss test results. All mine have been fine with no issues so far. DP's SA however has come back with 99% abnormal morphology 😞 So all this time it was male factor and we never knew; I always just assumed it was me.

At least things are explained for us now; there is some solace in that.

Our chance of natural pregnancy is 1% per cycle, and as it's been over two years of unprotected sex and 15 months of hardcore ttc already, the consultant was pretty sure it's unlikely. So our only hope is IVF with ICSI, since the sperm are too poor to swim to the egg.

I am moving over to the infertility boards.

@LopeyLopez I'm glad you've got a conclusive answer but sorrybits the news that it is. I hope your OH is ok. Good luck with your IVF!

Gosh lopey I'm so sorry to hear you've had bad news. I was really hoping you'd have your bfp soon. I hope the icsi gets you your bfp lovely, ill keep an eye out for you on the other boards. So many hugs xx
