Hope it's ok for me to start the next edition of the TTC #2 thread :) if there's another one already point me in that direction please Grin AF arrived today so I am out for the month :( but fingers crossed next month will be the month for all of us :)

My stats:

Age: 23
DC: 4yo DD
Cycle: 3 (6 week mc in January)
BFP due: 12th May

I'm going to try temping this month. We did a half-hearted version of SMEP last month but my night shifts at work got in the way. Fingers crossed!

HidCat at least for over the weekend I hope! Really fancy a bbq... wonder if I can persuade either of my parents to host one haha

BadBadBeans · 18/04/2018 20:49

@TwittleBee I breastfed DS till 17 months and my periods only came back at 10 months - but bam, just like that, there they were, more regular than they'd even been before! Hoping they will settle back as easily post miscarriage. Yes, also loving the sunshine here, although have realised that I have no provision for this for DS! Fortunately one of his too-large sunhats from last summer fits him now, but I need to get him some sunglasses, a sunsuit, and some shorts!

@HidCat Yes gosh I hope you don't have to go through anything like that again. And I also really hope mine does not take as long! I woke up with a sore throat today and am now wondering if that could be a sign of infection... Eek! I feel fine other than that though. Don't have a temperature as far as I'm aware; not in pain; don't feel sick; don't have the shivers or anything. I did have a few dizzy spells this morning but I hadn't eaten or drunk enough due to some rather off-putting cramping at breakfast time, and since I have eaten and drunk I have felt totally fine. (Other than the damn throat!) I guess I'll just keep an eye on myself and if I get any other symptoms I'll ring a professional!

Actually I've felt so much better today that I am feeling as normal as I've felt since this all started just over a week ago. I think I am going to wait for a period before I TTC again. I don't want the stress of not knowing what the dates should be, and I also want to give my poor old body half a chance to recover. Plus, I would like to have a Bailey's or two, and maybe some champagne, and some delicious soft mould ripened cheese, and hit the gym to try and shed the couple of pounds I have gained for NO BLADDY REASON AT ALL!!!!

Pinklily1 · 18/04/2018 22:10

bad, giving your body time to recover sounds like a good idea.

No idea what’s happening with me. Had that faint positive, then a negative clear blue yesterday, then randomly took an OPK today and almost positive. Will do pg test again later in week to see what’s what.

WhitleyBae · 19/04/2018 07:09

@BadBadBeans my periods settled almost immediately after MC, though the MC itself seemed to drag on.

Dr pretty much said there was no need to wait to keep trying other than waiting a cycle helps you with dates.

So frustrating that the BFP was a total surprise and now we're trying it's so elusive!

TwittleBee · 19/04/2018 16:38

BadBadBeans yeah probably a good move there and you can take a proper rest too and start all a new and fresh. Flowers

Pinklily1 so frustrating! Hopefully just too early for the clear blue? FX!

WhitleyBae Isn't it always the way ey?

So AF has turned up for me. I really will not be doing any bloody FRERs this cycle, do not wanna risk the disappointment of disappearing positives again. Only got a luteal phase of 11/12 days anyway so not like I have to wait the full 2 weeks anyway!

Pinklily1 · 20/04/2018 07:34

Hi ladies

How is everyone?

Just updating to say after my faint positive earlier this week, I got my bp yesterday!

Fingers crossed for lots more bfp's in May!!

WhitleyBae · 20/04/2018 10:22

So bloody frustrating @Pinklily1 Thanks(I'm reading bp as 'bloody period' but apologies if I'm wrong!

Im currently one day away from af but have had brown/pink cm for five days now - not typical for me at all so naturally I'm going crackers. Am I about to wish my weekend away just to be in the know!?Confused

WhitleyBae · 20/04/2018 10:25

@Pinklily1 aw man, I bet that was actually a BFP- I'm not usually this slow. Congratulations!

TwittleBee · 20/04/2018 11:43

Pinklily1 so much good luck to you and FX it all goes well Flowers whoop!

Meanwhile I am trying to not breakdown at work. AF is fully underway and its so painful for me feel like I am in labour again. Never was like this before DS. I haven't helped myself by looking up secondary infertility. Waiting 12 months before seeing a GP is a killer too and I feel like I am gonna get dismissed too because of how soon we started trying after DS anyway.

BadBadBeans · 20/04/2018 11:57

@Pinklily1 YAY! Congrats! Keep us posted :)

@TwittleBee awh that is horrid for you. Have you taken anything for it? Could you nip out at lunch at get one of those disposable heat pad things that you can stick on your tummy? I'm so sorry - I've had the total opposite, and since DS my awful periods have become practically painless. Thanking my lucky stars on that one. Period pain SUCKS.

I had my scan this morning. No sac/pregnancy that they could see (yay - feels weird to be saying yay, but still!). Still got a thick lining obviously and there is still 'stuff' sitting on my cervix waiting to come out. She said I might bleed for another couple of weeks yet. Actually all the prodding with the internal scan seems to have done something as I cramped all the way home and it's got going again. I guess I am probably out for May if the bleeding is going to keep on and on, but I'm going to stick on here anyway because I want to be cheered up by some more BFPs!

TwittleBee · 20/04/2018 12:25

BadBadBeans I have pain killers but they've hardly done anything to even take the edge off. Just worried now that somehow my pregnancy or labour with DS has ruined me up there which is why my periods are so bad & more irregular than before. I am glad that at least its looking clear for you just really hope it all stops bleeding and your cycles go back to normal quickly and you get a lovely sticky BFP Flowers

TwittleBee · 20/04/2018 15:27

Idk if now maybe I am just being stupid, but thought I would ask over here. I was cut on the inside by a student MW when she claimed she was trying to break my waters (they were already broken!!) and now I'm wondering if that scar tissue up there could be causing problems on why its taking a while with conceiving #2 when DS was conceived on first go?

mayago · 20/04/2018 21:19

Congratulations Pink!

Whitley have you tested? That does seem a bit strange.

Sorry AF has turned up Twittle. I can't see a midwife going up high enough to cause any damage to your uterus.. They'd normally break your waters in the neck of your cervix? Always worth getting it checked out though, as with the painful periods. Mine are horrid since DD made her exit, but starting, a year later, to get a little easier.

Bad that must have been a bit surreal. I'm glad the process is underway, but sad this has happened. I hope you're not in too much discomfort - bleeding for a couple of weeks sounds pretty grim Flowers

I'm in fertile week, and having the start of my ovulation cramping plus some promising looking CM. The cramping is a new one since DD, and lasts around two days. No peak detected with Clearblue, and did a second OPK tonight and it's still negative. I'm starting to wonder if I actually do ovulate, and what the hell this cramping is around O day each month if not!!

Peanut1980 · 20/04/2018 21:40

Congratulations @pinklily! Amazing news xx

Good luck to everyone else xx

Peanut1980 · 20/04/2018 21:45

@twittlebee does your Dr know how long you’ve been trying? Can you just add a couple more months on so you get seen sooner? I’ve got until July until Dr will do something but I don’t actually know what would be NHS funded for a 2nd child. Think we might look at private treatment.

Anyway, in the meantime I have my 2nd hospital appointment with a gynaecologist on Friday of next week to find out whether my cyst is anything nasty (the dreaded c). So just trying to focus on getting that sorted and will then see where that leaves us for fertility 🤞

BadBadBeans · 20/04/2018 22:01

@TwittleBee You poor thing, it sounds like your mind is really caught up in worrying about this. Can you maybe speak to your GP about the scar tissue worry? I'd like to think it wouldn't make that much difference - I mean, people have three C-sections in a row and still conceive despite the scarring - but maybe it would set your mind at rest to hear that from a professional? (Also, sorry the student midwife cocked up :( )

@mayago I'm honestly all right, thank you though. Scan today confirmed that the worst is over so I am looking forward to being on the other side of this now. Good luck for your FW!

@Peanut1980 good idea, but poor Twittle can't add a couple of months cos I believe that would take her back to when she was heavily pregnant Wink

BadBadBeans · 20/04/2018 22:03

@Peanut1980 crap just read the rest of your post, that must be so worrying. Cysts are common though and therefore the most likely scenario, so try and hold on to that until you get to see the gynaecologist. Good luck x

WhitleyBae · 20/04/2018 22:04

@mayago not tested yet. After the MC I swore I'd wait a week after af due to avoid any heartache but reality is I don't see that happening!

Af due tomorrow so if there's no visit I'll test. Sod's law is I went for drinks this evening having convinced myself I'm out for the month.

I had similar issues with opk- this month I started earlier and reckon I missed fw altogether in previous attempts

Hope the hospital appt goes well@Peanut1980 - the wait to get to those appointments is torment.

Peanut1980 · 21/04/2018 06:47

@badbadbeans ohhh I did wonder whether it was close to another pregnancy 🙈 scrap that idea! Yes I really hope it’s just a non nasty cyst. I’ve been talking about it quite a bit. Someone said to me the more you talk about it the more normal it seems and she’s absolutely right. It’s really helped. That’s a tip we can all apply to many different situations 😘

TwittleBee · 21/04/2018 07:50

Thanks everyone for helping me with my worries. I wouldn't be able to add in any months to make out we had been trying for longer though because it would mean we started trying even closer to when DS was born lol. I'll talk to them about how bad my periods are though and my worries about being cut up there and the infection I had from it afterwards.

mayago lots of people on here do state that OPKs don't work for them even though they know they ovulate due to going to the Dr about it etc? Frustrating though!

Peanut1980 hope your appointment goes okay! And it isn't anything nasty but maybe still gives you an insight into what's going on up there and solutions are found.

BadBadBeans hope you're doing okay! Really hoping it does all finish soon for you so you can get back at DTD and get a sticky BFP xx

WhitleyBae FX that AF is a No show and a lovely BFP is on its way. Did you enjoy yourself anyway with the drinks? I think I'm gonna go back to not caring about alcohol and caffeine, it's making me too stressed trying to be extra careful and having nothing to show for it.

Peanut1980 · 21/04/2018 08:14

@twittlebee good luck with the Drs. Tell them all you’ve said about your worries and concerns and at least they’ll then get it all on record. I hope you get your BFP real soon xxx

WhitleyBae · 21/04/2018 08:50

@TwittleBee drinks were lovely! Made the most of sitting outside in the sunshine with my friends on a Friday night!

It's a beautiful day again so gonna get overdressed for our plans to mooch around shops and forget about ttc... maybe.

TwittleBee · 21/04/2018 14:21

Peanut1980 thanks lovely and same to you!

WhitleyBae hope you managed to mooch around and enjoy the sun!

WhitleyBae · 21/04/2018 18:00

@TwittleBee had such a lovely day thank you.

Af well and truly here so I'm officially out for April now - here we go May!

mayago · 22/04/2018 10:49

Sorry AF has arrived Whitley. At least she was on time!

Twittle that's quite a reasonable list to take to the GP. Maybe the stress of having some resolution there will help with TTC, who knows!

Peanut that's pretty quick for a hospital appointment! Hopefully this won't hold up your TTC journey.

I actually got a smiley face on the Clearblue OPKs yesterday, and it's vanished today. I think I can determine the type of cramping that comes with ovulation now, and luckily we did manage to DTD just before. Hopefully this is our month- there's nothing more we can do now. Need to find something to keep me busy now for the TWW.. I can't afford another month like last one!! FRERs are back down to £7.89 for a two pack on Amazon. I think I used 5 singles last month!!
