Hope it's ok for me to start the next edition of the TTC #2 thread :) if there's another one already point me in that direction please Grin AF arrived today so I am out for the month :( but fingers crossed next month will be the month for all of us :)

My stats:

Age: 23
DC: 4yo DD
Cycle: 3 (6 week mc in January)
BFP due: 12th May

I'm going to try temping this month. We did a half-hearted version of SMEP last month but my night shifts at work got in the way. Fingers crossed!

Any good news this month to lift spirits and bring a little hope !

@CatRen27 ooo I've only been testing once a day mostly - mid to late afternoon. I may well have missed it. Oh well. I don't think we've DTD at the right times this month anyway. I'll order another batch of opks in preparation for next month, and be more organised this time! Although I'm still holding out hope that I might be a late ovulator. I'm only on day 16 so there's still a chance!

We're off camping this week, which I'm hugely looking forward to. Bit tricky to DTD in a tent but hey ho!!!

And for those of us who are out for May, I started a much less catchily named thread for June x

Hey badbeans i seem to ovulate on day 16 but have been anywhere between cd 15 and cd18 over the last few months. I only get properly positive opks when i test around 4 times a day as my surge is so short I'd miss it of i did it only 1-2 times. They say mid afternoon is a good time to test and my opk+ tend to be around 8pm.

Thanks mayago I'm glad I'm not crazy! Well I obviously am but not crazy to be upset. Exciting that you'll be testing soon! Can you bring sticks with you? Maybe poas before you go if you have ics but 9dpo is pretty bloody early. Fingers and toes crossed for you!

Fertility friend is freaking out that I've not been temping for the last 3 days.. Im enjoying the rebellion!

Thanks @HidCat @Lithops @TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong @mayago for the ov info! My cycle is usually 28-29 days but god only knows what has gone on after the miscarriage!

I'm so sorry Twittle That one just wasn't fair! That does seem rather short for AF, and testing again surely won't hurt?

CatRen I can't believe your SIL wasn't more sensitive, especially as she has been in a similar position to you and should bloody know what it feels like!

Lethargic I'm still BF my 16 month old DD. My cycles returned a year ago, and I'm hoping fertility isn't affected now, but who knows!

BadBadBeans I'm normally around day 14 of a 26-28 day cycle.

I'm due on this weekend, and I'm away with parents and DD. I have never wanted AF to take a hiatus as much as I do this time around. It's so horrible post baby, and I get grumpy and crampy and just unpleasant to be around.. Not sure to test early on Thursday (9DPO) as it seems a bit too early, but we leave later that day.

@BadBadBeans my cycles seem to be around 32-36 days and I got a peak on clear blue advanced CD18 this month. I reckon you'll be gearing up to it now!

Hi Bad, sorry to hear about your mc. Last time I did all this, I remember being surprised that the OPKs seemed to suggest that I ovulated on something like day 18-20. This was later than I had assumed (and perhaps went some way to explain why it was taking us so long...!)

Report
HidCat · 21/05/2018 20:06

@BadBadBeans I'm on CD17 and no hint of a positive opk yet. Cycles usually are 32 -35 ish days though so should get it in the next few days.

Oh @TwittleBee how confusing for you! I also would advocate poas again but that's because I personally would rather have a BFN (or hopefully a BFP!) than the torment of wondering what might be going on.

@CatRen27 and @SJB90 I'm really sorry about the baby bombing. I'm feeling really nervous about the possibility of friends and family announcing before I'm pregnant again, and how that might make me feel. So hard.

I've been doing opks for a week now. I'm on day 15 of my first cycle post-mc, and so far I've not had a proper positive. In total fairness, I did miss day 9 accidentally (but pretty sure I wouldn't have ovulated that early) and on day 13 I was staying at a friend's house so didn't have anything to pee into - I had to pee straight onto the stick, whereas the instructions say to dip it into a container of urine. So that may not have worked.

However, both my BFPs - both on the first day of my missed period - have been super faint to begin with, so I am wondering whether maybe I ovulate late in my cycle. Going to keep on opk-ing until I either get a positive or AF arrives again anyway. What day do you guys normally ovulate on?

Report
Lithops · 21/05/2018 14:51

Thanks, Twittle! Cycles are not super regular - normally 30/31 days, but shortest about 27 and longest about 35 (these are unusual though). I don't think I ever got flashy faces either last time so I will see if I manage to get a solid smiley face this cycle. Usually CM is noticeable for me too and I haven't had much of that this cycle. This is the first time I've paid much attention since DC was born (now just over 1) and I'm annoyed that I can't find all my charting from TTC him for comparison!

Report
TwittleBee · 21/05/2018 14:38

Lithops hey there, how long are your cycles usually? OPKs are also known to be unreliable, so keep that in mind. Also, I never see a flashy smiley face on my CB digi OPKs, goes from nothing to a solid face. So keep in mind might be same for you.

Report
Lithops · 21/05/2018 11:42

Hi everyone, sorry to those who are having a tough time. This is my first cycle this time round of OPKs - I'm on day 17 and still no smiley face, so assuming that there's anything regular about it, it looks like I may be ovulating later than I assumed. Nothing else to report!

TwittleBee · 21/05/2018 09:41

CatRen27 I think I might wait a week, see if any symptoms pop up. Be too early to see anything on a scan wont it? I've got my diagnostics ultrasound tomorrow.

I think it is a good idea to step back from the OPKs and Temping CatRen, half considering it myself. I hope you can think of a few spicy things to help you both DTD every other day and you both have good fun doing it. Hopefully might make you relax a bit more if you're doing it without the charting. twittle you know im always an advocate for poas, but might be worth it to check? Although if you've had bfns i don't want to get your hopes up. Whatever you do keep us posted!

I've today decided to stay clear of opks and temping and dtd every other day once af has finished. Depression plus obsession is not likely to help so I'm hoping to spice things up with dh to last the distance..

CatRen27 hun, you're allowed to be venting to us and to be emotional! Flowers don't feel like you were "milking it"

I don't know! I did get a BfaintP then a BFNx2 and then late AF by 3 days and only a 1.5 day bleed? Maybe I should POAS again tomorrow?

WhitleyBae New House New baby, as they say. FX

SJB90 So sorry, it is so extra tough when someone close announces pregnancy whilst TTC - especially hard when AF shows up same time as their announcement.

CatRen27 Flowers sometimes people just want everything to be about them with no consideration for others. I am sorry you are going through this. Counselling can be amazing, really hope you get some soon. Worth booking in a few joint session with your OH.
We do need a new June TTC#2 - I'm no good with witty names either too.

AF has only lasted 36 hours for me, finished yesterday morning but wondered if maybe she would sneak back by the evening... no sign of her - just clear CM? odd?

HidCat · 21/05/2018 07:13

Ah crap sjb sorry you're out this month, and doubly sorry for the baby bomb.. hope you enjoyed the ice cream!

I've been meaning to set up a June TTC #2 thread but can't think of a catchy enough name.. ideas?

Sil just posted on fb at 10 weeks with loads of song and dance. She struggled loads ttc her dc1 and when i fell pregnant before her i was so sensitive to that, posted nothing for SIX MONTHS and my whole pregnancy had a cloud of "poor sil" over it which sucked, she blanked me for 9 months and i just had to get through it. Now this. Its taking all my effort not to send her a wtaf text. I didn't even get a weekend to process it, let alone tell my family before its in our faces. Ffs. Im also aware i need counseling as I'm not coping well. Have an appointment set up with the ivf clinic next week.

@twittlebee @catren I'm sorry for you both! Absolutley sucks.

AF arrived today for me too.. Along with tea at the SIL with a pregnancy announcement 😭 extra punch to the gut. Even though I'm very happy for her!
My younger sister is also 35 weeks and Im throwing her a secret babyshower this wkend!

I feel like their is no escaping it! Hate the torment of the tww and then the disappointment of AF! I'm sat with a big bowl of Ice cream in bed, feeling sorry for myself. Tomorrow is a new day... and a new cycle! Xx
