Hope it's ok for me to start the next edition of the TTC #2 thread :) if there's another one already point me in that direction please Grin AF arrived today so I am out for the month :( but fingers crossed next month will be the month for all of us :)

My stats:

Age: 23
DC: 4yo DD
Cycle: 3 (6 week mc in January)
BFP due: 12th May

I'm going to try temping this month. We did a half-hearted version of SMEP last month but my night shifts at work got in the way. Fingers crossed!

Hi ladies,

I’ve been lurking on this group without commenting (didn’t want to get my hopes up!). Can anyone see a line on this? I had a miscarriage in December so not sure if it is wishful thinking. AF isn’t due until Friday so it’s also very early but with a day of potential drinking at a friends BBQ I thought I’d do a test just in case!

TIA

BadBadBeans · 22/04/2018 11:25

@slippynips I can see a line... maybe go easy on the drinking!

WhitleyBae · 22/04/2018 12:54

@slippynips I see a line too!

Can I ask, why is it people put rings in the picture with the tests? I've been googling but can't work it out!

TwittleBee · 22/04/2018 13:27

slippynips put the image into FF lightbox/line reader. Can certainly see something!!!

@WhitleyBae I used my rings to help focus the camera, otherwise it focussed on the whole test and not joust the window

@TwittleBee Thank you so much for that - can definitely see it on the first one - how exiting!!!!!

Peanut1980 · 23/04/2018 12:41

@slippynips I can see a line! 🤞😃

CatRen27 · 23/04/2018 12:57

Congrats slippy, good luck in your pregnancy Flowers

My update is that I'm a week away from my fertile week, started acupuncture and have some Chinese herbs (eek?!). Our fertility clinic appointment is tomorrow morning so hopefully we'll have a plan soon. Even went on a run today and ate kale.. Jesus wept..

How's everyone else doing?

WhitleyBae · 23/04/2018 13:50

@CatRen27 my FW will begin 2nd May - moving house on 4th Shockdetermined not to let that get in the way though haha.

Hope your plans all come together quickly!

If you don't mind me asking, how much is the acupuncture?

TwittleBee · 23/04/2018 14:11

WhitleyBae oooo we move at start of May too! Good luck for your house move. and of course FX that you have successful DTD

CatRen27 what herbs you got for yourself? FX they work! If they do I shall certainly be grabbing some haha

My update is Dr appointment booked for tomorrow. Sister has suspected Endometriosis and talking to her about her symptoms is now making me wonder if that is what I am struggling with (everything she says she is suffering with is exactly same for me...). Really hope her laparoscopy comes back clear, she is only in her teens poor thing.

Peanut1980 · 23/04/2018 17:01

@twittlebee sorry to hear about your sister. Go and speak to the Dr if you feel you have the same symptoms.

I had my blood tests taken today. All part of the investigations for my ovarian cyst. Find out on Friday whether it’s cancer. Cried for about 3 hours today. Husband tried to take me out for lunch to distract me but I was so emotional in the car he got me an M&S ready meal (always a treat!) and we went home and watched dumb and dumber. Ahh it was good to laugh.

Really hoping it’s nothing nasty so we can continue with TTC no. 2 🙏

WhitleyBae · 23/04/2018 17:31

Oh @Peanut1980 the wait is the worst I really feel for you. Last year I had a lot of investigations due to bleeding very irregularly and almost all symptoms led to cervical cancer. I had extra smears, an internal ultrasound and multiple appointments to discover it was actually a cervical ectropion.

I cried waiting for results, it's such an anxious time but 9 Times out of 10 it's something manageable or at least finding something bad early. Fx it's nothing to be worried about.

Peanut1980 · 23/04/2018 18:09

Thanks for your kind words and wishes @whitleybae. Oh I really hope so. I’m so sorry to hear of your battle and issues last year but pleased to hear you’re fine now 🤞🤞🤞

YassQueen · 23/04/2018 20:46

Ohh Peanut sorry you're going through this :( fingers crossed it's nothing sinister and the blood tests can give you some peace of mind Flowers

I've left the OPKs at home and we're on holiday. Good in a way because I'm not stressing but not great when I'm trying to monitor ovulation Hmm although I'm in the mindset now where the closer we get to a spring due date, the happier I'd be.

BadBadBeans · 23/04/2018 22:12

@CatRen27 best of luck with the clinic appointment!

@Peanut1980 oh it's so hard waiting for results. I had a biopsy of a breast lump in my early 20s and it was so stressful - especially as my poor mum died quite young of breast cancer. All was okay though. A very kind nurse said to me around that time that if you were walking down the street and saw something with four legs and a tail that from a distance looked like a horse, it's unlikely to turn out to be a zebra. I have tried to stop looking for zebras in my symptoms since then but it is hard! Hope very much that yours turns out to be a horse (!). X

CatRen27 · 23/04/2018 22:46

Whitley I'm in Australia so costs might be different but it's about $100 each time, which is gbp55. I had private health in uk last year before moving here and it would have been covered.

twittle i have a bunch of little round black pills, god only knows what they are. I'll take a screen shot of the ingredients and post it.

Thanks badbeans, I'd love to be on route for at least a round of iui as soon as possible but not sure things work that quickly given I'm on cd8!

peanut I'm so sorry you're so worried, it must be terrifying to wait. Odds are that it will be fine, but i guess that doesn't help the worry. Love that you watched dumb and dumber with fancy m&s sandwich - hope it helped. Fingers crossed for you Flowers

CatRen27 · 24/04/2018 02:30

So looks like we are on track for ivf either next cycle (mid june bfp) or the one after that. She said because of my endometriosis she wouldn't recommend stimulation and turkey basting (iui!) as it is likely to be a problem with my fallopian tubes and the actual implantation.

Fingers crossed we won't need all this but I'm glad to be planning for the next stage. We had loads of blood tests done and dh is complaining about having to give his second semen sample for testing (yep i reminded him of the surgery and other invasive and painful things I've undergone so far..!) but he'd better get used to it if we're doing ivf for reals..! Costing us a pretty penny, around 5k (£2700), but i can't really wait any longer. Maybe its time to move over to the infertility boards but I'll stay here another month in hopeful positivity!

TwittleBee · 24/04/2018 08:27

CatRen27 they sound interesting... haha! FX for you. Great that the next stage is being line dup for you to be ready in case this cycle isn't the one for you. FX that it is though! Your DH needs to deffo acknowledge just how much more you are going through lol! What an idiot ey? You could always hover between the boards?

mayago · 24/04/2018 14:49

Goodness CatRen fingers crossed for you! I wouldn't have thought giving a semen sample was really that taxing, given everything you have to go through! How are you finding the acupuncture?

Enjoy your holiday Yass! It's a great thing for TTC to be relaxed and carefree... DD was a holiday baby Smile

Peanut I can't imagine how you're feeling during this wait. I do hope it's nothing to worry about, and that it won't affect TTC no 2.

How was your appointment Twittle?

Congratulations Slippy!!

Not much of an update here. I got my BFP two years ago today, so feeling a little nostalgic. At 3DPO I'm essentially drumming my fingers and hiding away the pregnancy tests Grin

TwittleBee · 24/04/2018 16:22

mayago literally just got out of GP. She said certainly sounds like possible endometriosis or something went wrong during labour etc so she's booked me in to get swabs and scans to get ball rolling. Should all happen within fortnight she said to try and catch it before next period starts.

Oh really loads of FX for you that you get a BFP this cycle then mayago as that be lovely to get it 2 years from your first xx

WhitleyBae · 25/04/2018 06:32

Thanks @CatRen27 - I looked into it briefly but not sure I'm quite there yet (plus moving house is expensive so best to wait a bit anyway!)

Good luck with the ivf - fx all round!

BadBadBeans · 25/04/2018 12:04

Ooo exciting @CatRen27 - so nice to know that you can get things moving. FX for a BFP for you to scupper your IVF plans though!

@mayago awwh yes not surprised about the nostalgia! Haha about the pregnancy tests. I am going to get in a stock I think as I am going to be unable to resist testing. Anyone got any recommendations for cheap ones?

@TwittleBee FANTASTIC news that the GP is helping - and that she wants to do it quickly. I'm so, so pleased for you.

My mc is nearly finished now I think. It feels rather as though it has been going on forever, but it has actually only been two weeks. It does, however, feel like a very long time since I thought I was pregnant. Maybe because I had started to suspect way before 9 weeks that something was wrong? It almost feels like I dreamed the whole thing now. I still have the four positive pregnancy tests I took sitting on a shelf in my office, but I will be chucking them as they are making me feel a bit wistful when my eye is caught by them.

On the plus side I do feel like DTD again! Last week in the thick of the mc I couldn't imagine ever wanting to again, haha! The hospital advised waiting for a week after bleeding had stopped to avoid possible infection. We'll be using condoms anyway for this first cycle, which in a funny way will maybe be nice because there won't be any wondering about whether we've conceived or not...

WhitleyBae · 25/04/2018 14:26

@Bad it's funny what the MC will do to your head. I still have a pic of the BFP on my phone and that's from September! Caused a bit of awkwardness when my sister was flicking through my phone as I hadn't told anyone about any of it. Still haven't said anything to my mum- feels like too much time has passed now to bring it all up.

Pleased you're feeling ready again hard to remember the fun bits once you start obsessing over tests! X

CatRen27 · 26/04/2018 08:06

badbad Glad you're feeling back to normal, and surprised to hear it lasted so long, poor you. How will you know where you are on your cycle now?

It could be a total coincicdence but my temps this month since starting acupuncture have completely stabilised. This time last month they were all over the shop before ov, and I'm getting the exact same temps every day now for 6 days. Maybe it's not all nonsense..!

TwittleBee · 26/04/2018 08:11

BadBadBeans sending you lots of hugs and hope you have fun DTD just because you feel like it rather than to TTC. Will make it easier to wait till 1 cycle happens too for calculating AF etc.

CatRen27 ooo that is interesting! FX that acupuncture helps you conceive too if its stabilising you. How do you feel in yourself after having it done? (I was meant to be having a course of it leading up to labour with DS but never got the chance as he arrived bloomin early!)

CatRen27 · 27/04/2018 00:11

Hey twittle (fyi my phone has learned your username and predicts it lol) we'll see how it goes but even today its stable. During the treatment i feel really relaxed, she puts the needles in, then pops a heat lamp over my tummy and switches the light off - cue me dropping off to sleep! And i feel pretty energised after that (although it could have been the nap..!). I don't usually go in for alternative therapies, Im an evidence based science minded no dream catchers kinda woman but this is helping to feel like I'm 'doing something' and it feels good..

How's everyone doing? I'm on cd11 now so gearing up for ovulation in the next week. Bring on the opks...

Fingers firmly crossed for all you lovely ladies xx
