AtrocityNeedles I meant a month off

Cleozeta · 27/05/2018 12:41

Orchid I'll give it a few months I think, so see what my cycles do once this mc is cleared. I'm really hoping to get back on track quickly as I don't have time to waste. If they don't get back on track in a few months I'll be going to a clinic then. If they do, I'll give it a few months to try naturally in the hope that the mc has helped my fertility (probably a myth but I'm going with it)

CritterTamer · 27/05/2018 12:47

You’re right Orchid, even the advice from the IVF clinic is to remove as much stress as possible so I’ve also made some big changes - moved to a less stressful role and going part time - just waiting on my new contract now. The emotional and financial cost of this is so much that we want to give it every possible chance of working! Your BFP even helped me to make that decision seeing how quickly it came for you after your choice to quit!

Orchid222 · 27/05/2018 15:00

Critter- fingers crossed it works for you too and soon! I was stunned to say the least and yes, it could've been my TCM treatment finally paying off or a combination of factors but I don't think it was a coincidence that it happened so soon after I quit my job, I just wish I quit about a year ago lol.

Hello ladies. .Here i am catching up after missing way too much (as always!) I've made a list: (LOVE a list!)
Welcome to Wanna & Apple
Orchid : i am sorry to hear about your stressful time. Hoping you're ok Flowers
Little: thank you for the tip about Shatavan for balancing hormones.
Faith: thank you for your lovely words. I'm currently in the 2ww and the way i feel now is that i expect af to make an appearance next monday, the first day of our holiday (of course!)
Karigan: we're the same, my DH and me, as we made the decision not to obsess about it and if it happens it happens sort of thing. I guess that's why we have just one dc as we never try hard enough! Good luck x
Needles: thanks for the advice re progesterone. I hadn't thought of that. Re. Drinking, i went out and drank nearly a whole bottle of wine not realising i was 5 or 6 weeks preg at the time! I beat myself up big time when we found out but DS turned out fine (and i wasn't even taking folic acid as i'd given up on the whole thing after 2 mc's).
Critter: i wanted to wish you success with your ivf journey x

Orchid222 · 27/05/2018 22:13

Booseys- thank you. The wait is awful but not much I can do so trying to keep busy.

Karigan- I forgot to ask you, any news? Did you take another test?

Orchid, Chatbash, you are so right about the stress. I'm a total stress ball. Fertility yoga sounds quite nice, particularly if you can do it at home!

Chatbash72 · 28/05/2018 13:57

How are you ladies coping not eating or drinking cold stuff??? I'm managing room temperature drinks.. and steering clear of lollies and ice cream.. this is hard

Karigan1 · 28/05/2018 14:10

No haven’t tested yet. Going to leave it and see if I’m late. It’s only two days to wait. Although they are going to seem very long days lol

AtrocityNeedles · 28/05/2018 14:27

Chatbash, I gave up cold drinks years ago on the recommendation of my acupuncturist. During the day I drink them at room temperature, but first thing in the morning I drink warm/almost hot water with a splash of lemon juice and it does wonders for my digestive system.

I only ever ate ice cream when on my period, and she said it can make the pain worse. I didn't believe her but gave it a try, and in my experience it has turned out to be true!

Chatbash72 · 28/05/2018 15:20

AtrocityNeedles coping with room temp but requires a little forward planning.. am missing ice cream did have a cheeky one at Chelsea but am sticking to it, it does make a lot of sense..

minime2017 · 28/05/2018 21:02

Has anyone else noticed their bbs being sensitive from ov to af? Im very aware of mine and never really had been until last cycle and theyre the same this month. Also kudos to all of you trying to maintain the avoidance of cold goods/drinks in this weather ☀️ ive been soaking up some sun in the attempt to raise my vit d levels naturally.

CritterTamer · 28/05/2018 22:26

@minime yes I had that last month - never had anything like it before and didn’t get it again this month but my bbs were really tender from 1dpo until 2 days after AF arrived. It got me pretty excited for a while there but turned out to be nothing 😔

Orchid222 · 28/05/2018 23:09

Mini- same question came up here last year and a few ladies said they had it. I remember because I was experiencing the same at the time. Like Critter I got excited at first but it turned out to be mother nature toying with me. Lasted 2-3 cycles and stopped.
Karigan- well done on waiting, I don't think I could wait another 2 days with your symptoms.

OP posts:
Chatbash72 · 28/05/2018 23:26

minime2017 mine were always a little tender but 3 months ago they were off the scale, nipples sore too ( sorry tmi) and had a mc at 5.5 weeks. In the cycles since they have gotten full ( like breast feeding boobs) just before ovulation and then in the weeks that followed.. they have gone up a size and now seem to have a mind of their own.. my mum in law said she knew the nasty M word was in the way by the boobs.. ( not in a nasty way, we were just chatting) so fingers crossed that the mc has just thrown hormones out of whack.. but am Day 21 in cycle and about 4/5 days past ov and they what gone all big and tingly.. so 🤞🤞

minime2017 · 28/05/2018 23:36

Thanks ladies. Theyve been bothering me over the weekend. Definitely feels like they too have developed their own mind. Its weird as I had never had (or noticed) it before my bfp/loss. Maybe im just more tuned in now. Theyre much fuller (but ive gained weight since mc...cant stop myself...lame excuse) and the nips are tender. Id only be 5 dpo at most so im not symptom hunting just boob watching. Getting older is such fun!

KeepingTheFaith9 · 29/05/2018 08:48

Hello all. Silence from me these past few days as I've been at my parents with my little girl. Had a lovely time. Great to read all your updates, fingers crossed for Karrigan (and everyone else of course at our varying stages of waiting, watching, boob prodding, fanny snot analysing!) It really is great to be part of something where we are all in the same - often bizzare boat!

On the boob front, I think they get sore after ovulation don't they, its the progesterone rise, that said, it doesn't happen to me every month, or even every other month but I think things are slowing down for me Ov wise anyway. So Mini, I used the CB digital for a few days - nadda. I have no run out of sticks so need to buy more - will get a job lot of 20. At this rate though, because I have no idea on my cycle looks like I might be POS every day!! CD 22 for me, no idea what is happening - yday EWCM so dtd and have done 3 times this past week so let's see....
Off on hols to Turkey next Mon so altho AF is due (going by the old 27 day cycle) I would be happy for her to come on the past new length of 35 so I don't have to bother whilst I'm away)
Naff all symptoms of anything right now.
Huff and Puff!!
Have a good day everyone.
F xxxx

AtrocityNeedles · 29/05/2018 09:06

I've had the post-ovulation sore boobs for as long as I can remember. In fact, I can almost always track ovulation by them, the moment they get sore I know I've just ovulated. Not that it's helped me Confused. As KeepingTheFaith says, it's the progesterone rise - it would make sense that it would get aggravated as one gets closer to menopause since menopause is the loss of oestrogen, no?

EWCM for me this morning so time to start getting on with it daily (looks for vitamins in cupboard).

Cleozeta · 29/05/2018 09:16

I'be had the sore boobs monthly for about a year. I know ov has happened when they get sore. Weirdly the month of my bfp they got sore after ov as expected, then they stopped hurting around 4dpo (which was unnusual) then came back with a vengance the next day, followed by sharp stabbing pains in one boob....

minime2017 · 29/05/2018 09:27

@keepingthefaith the CB digi only gave me 1 smiley face and it was cd 15 i think. I'd been checking 2 times a day from around cd 11 just in case I'd miss it. Smiley in the morning and nothing in the afternoon or next morning. We dtd the night before and didnt manage to again until 2 nights later so not hopeful this cycle. They are expensive for what they do and i cant decide whether to repurchase again.

Orchid222 · 29/05/2018 12:08

Mini- are you using the purple cb sticks that detect 2 hormones and are supposed to detect more fertile days? I must say they always worked for me every month. Once I bought the pink ones by mistake and hated them because they didn't give me any fishing smileys just static when the time was right.

OP posts:
minime2017 · 29/05/2018 12:55

They were the pink ones. I was generally happy enough with them, just pleased to get a smiley. I also looked at the lines when ejecting the sticks so had a fair idea the surge wasnt too far away. Are the purple ones the newer model or the more expensive kit?

KeepingTheFaith9 · 29/05/2018 13:25

Oh lordy. I had no idea there were purple ones too you guys.
I might give them a whirl, I am guessing they are more expensive Mini.
If I look at the lines when I take the out (not that I have EVER gotten a smiley) is this an indication of things if I can see a faint second line as sometimes that is the case....? x

Orchid222 · 29/05/2018 13:34

I don't know if they are newer. They are more expensive unfortunately but they give you a few days of high fertility before peak vs the pink ones only show you peak. I like the purple ones because a few people have said sometimes ov tests don't always pick things up in time if you're over 40 and might show peak after ovulation and not before and with the purple ones I felt like they gave me a head start so I wouldn't miss it.

OP posts:
KeepingTheFaith9 · 29/05/2018 14:35

I have finished the Pinks so might as well get the Purples in - I am a sucker for trying new things, and the novelty of hope pervades again.
On that front, my raspberry leaf tea drinking (have been doing it 6 weeks now) has yet to increase my lining (well from what I've seen from recent bleeds) However, on a good note, my horrific spots have gone - so hopefully that was the herbs and that's the end of that!
Can't believe I spent £1100 on 4 months treatment and all I got was a load of big FAT zits!!! LOL. X
