Oh no Cleo I'm so sorry to hear that! I was so hoping it would all work out for you, Jojo and Sparkly.
I hope it happens quickly and is as least traumatic as possible. Perhaps your TCM man can somehow help your body to adjust afterwards? I'm sure it won't take a year next time, your fertility should be increased afterwards so hoping you get pregnant again very soon. Take care of yourself, will be thinking of you in this difficult time. Lots of hugs x

CLEO - so sorry to see your post and read your sad news. You are right to take the positives from this and yes you now know you can still get pregnant. Hoping it all resolves quickly and easily for you and sending you a massive hug. I’ve been there before and know how you will be feeling. Such a mix of emotions and the hormones don’t help. As ORCHID says fertility should be increased afterwards (Mother Nature is strange sometimes!)

I’m having a strange one this month. Only a week after my last AF I could feel body gearing up for ov and breasts started to tingle and feel sore. I’ve always thought my breasts started being sore after ov but not sure anymore. Only had one chance to dtd this month so hopes of a pregnancy are practically nil! Breasts were sore
almost immediately one week after last af and were for over 2 and half weeks. They are no longer sore which is when af usually shows which would be a couple of days early compared to normal but nothing. Very different cycle altogether for me so sadly I’m thinking peri menopause Sad. Tested but bfn which I knew deep down anyway so not avoided alcohol etc but feeling a tad confused and pissed off Sad

Hope everyone else ok xx

minime2017 · 13/05/2018 10:33

Aw congratulations @Orchid! Lovely to read your news this morning. Hope everything goes well for you.
@Cleo im sad to see you back on this thread-I know how hard it is and am very sorry for your loss. I hope the process passes without much physical distress, the emotional pain will take a bit longer to heal. 8 weeks on and i still feel teary at times, but i am getting stronger. It is a very difficult time, be extra kind to yourself.
We are now trying again. Approaching FW as af has just finished and ive already felt ovary pain. Just hoping ov hasnt happened during af...is that even possible?!?

Cleozeta · 13/05/2018 10:45

Thanks all. I hope you are right and that fertility is higher after. I don't think I could take another year of ttc stress! Plus I was so close to memopause before this pregnancy I don't know how much longer I have left. I will just have to take things as they come. I think we'll start trying right away once this is over. Hopefully my cycle will not be too messed up

Orchid222 · 13/05/2018 11:00

Thank you Minime! Google says that technically you can't ovulate during AF but I've heard of women who ovulate very early on, immediately after AF.
Mattsmamma- I'd keep testing if AF doesn't arrive.
I just realised I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant that I coloured my hair on Wednesday 😕 It was ammonia free but still...oh well I can't take it back now.
It's actually funny, during my fertility clinic appointment I laughingly said to the doctor maybe I'm pregnant now and he said I definitely wouldn't be the first woman it's happened to. Isn't it ironic? You try for a long time, finally you give up and consider other options and that's when it happens. Why can't things be more straightforward?

My ovary is rumbling and in Day 5, right boob is rather tender too..

KeepingTheFaith9 · 13/05/2018 16:35

Cleo I’m really sorry to see you back here but I do believe that my DD was conceived on the back on my miscarriage for sure so as much as you can get back on the horse so to speak ASAP the better. That said it’s a horrible thing and a shock - especially if the body is still feeling preg. After my first MMC I went for a private ‘viability’ scan @ 7 weeks and they told me then that all was not well, so I knew, rather than getting to the 12 week scan like the first time as I wa devastated. But that’s me - I needed to know, it helped me deal with MMC2 much better than the 1st one. And we are all different. But again I am really sad for you - take care of yourself. XxX

KeepingTheFaith9 · 13/05/2018 16:36

Orchid - keeping it all crossed for you love!! Maybe the TCM did the trick after all!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 sending love and sticki-ness! XxX

starsandstuff · 13/05/2018 16:55

Cleo I'm so sorry to hear that Thanks I hope you get through the next while ok and that good news comes your way soon x

Just thought I'd share - DP was at a work thing on Friday and said that a lot of the talk was around a colleague who had just found out they were pregnant at 47/48. People were then sharing stories about all the people they knew who had had kids in their late 40s, especially years ago, and how it was a very common thing. Just always nice to hear.

Cleozeta · 13/05/2018 17:19

Thanks keepingthefaith, I shall get back on the horse as soon as this is done, hopefully my cycles will readjust quickly.
I think the frustrating thing about my mmc is that I did go for a viability scan at 6+4 and all was well, we saw a heartbeat and sonographer said all looked great. Apparently baby stopped developing at around 6+5, so just the next day.....

starsandstuff · 13/05/2018 17:43

Oh that's so difficult Cleo. I'm sorry for your loss.

minime2017 · 13/05/2018 18:30

@chatbash im on cd6 and having low stabby pains so something is gearing up. @cleo im banking on the increasef fertility that is supposed to come post mc and if the aches im having are anything to go by it may be a strong ov this month-which it was on the month i fell preg so fingers crossed. My dsis has just declared her first bfp. Had my mc not occured we'd have been mere weeks apart so i dearly want to enjoy this journey with her. @orchid its weird you say that as a close friend told me she got her bfp when they believed they'd no hope and had signed up for fertility treatment. I guess psychologically the pressure eases so maybe theres something to be said for 'just relaxing' ... the age old advice we're always given but find very hard to do!

Chatbash72 · 13/05/2018 18:54

minime2017 smallest has had sickness bug for last 2 nights but now hubs has come down with it quite thankful that somehow how managed to dtd on fri in between sheet changes and settling him back down, likewise in the early hours of this morn.. woman on a mission 🤦‍♀️😳

Cleozeta · 13/05/2018 19:05

Thanks stars, yeah still coming to terms with it. I was wary at first to not get too excited, but after seeing a good scan and getting as far as 10 weeks, I had started thinking ahead.
Minime, thats such a shame yours did not continue with your dsis, fingers crossed it all happens quickly for you now

weasledee · 13/05/2018 21:20

Hi cleo I'm really sorry to hear your news x

Orchid222 · 13/05/2018 21:59

Minime-yes I think the 'just relaxing' bit really does help. The consultant at the clinic said his mum always tells him he should just tell patients to go on holiday and relax and he said whilst he can't advise that he thinks there is truth in the fact that relaxing does help.
Faith-thank you. Yes, I'm sure TCM did help along with the diet my Chinese lady had me do. Or maybe it was HyCoSy the previous month or less stress once I quite my job or the combination of all of them. Who knows? Maybe mother nature just decided I waited long enough.
Cleo-I'm not getting too excited either but don't blame you for thinking ahead after a good scan, who wouldn't? Hopefully everything goes quickly and you can get back to trying (and succeeding) very soon.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 13/05/2018 22:51

Thanks weasle. It's just shocking how common the mmc is. So many other ladies on the december due thread had the same. Not just within our age group but in general.

Planning on joining you in the pregnancy section soon Orchid!

karryk · 14/05/2018 06:01

Hello ladies Smile

Thought I'd pop in and introduce myself as we're going to start trying later this summer and I wanted to join a group of ladies around my age Wink

I had my first baby last year, a month after my 40th birthday. She was conceived after 2 mmc and a chemical pregnancy over the space of about 18 months. Unfortunately a recent scan has shown uterine adhesions (joy) so I'm awaiting a date for a hysteroscopy to sort them out before we can try again. I'll be 41 in June so hopefully not too long after that!

Wishing everyone well on their journey

Xx

JoJoyorker · 14/05/2018 07:39

Congratulations orchid, lovely news. Hope all goes well for you.
Thinking of you Cleo, hope you are ok x

Cleozeta · 14/05/2018 09:01

Thank you jojo, I have all my fingers & toes crossed for you to take this to the end for us!
Feeling really down about things today and am not feeling much hope. This crash is hard.

Chatbash72 · 14/05/2018 10:42

Orchid222 just had a quick look at TCM online.. how did you stick to the no cold drinks ( cold water??) or cold food.. I love my salads.. but don't have caffeine, alcohol, cook from scratch and loads of fruit and veg.. although trying not to stress thought I had quite a healthy diet but not according to TCM 😳

starsandstuff · 14/05/2018 15:36

Hi karryk good luck with the procedure, and with TTC x

I'm due to ov in a day or two (I think) so will be entering my first ever TWW eeek....

Orchid222 · 14/05/2018 15:54

Thank you JoJo!

Cleo- please try not to lose hope. I know it's so hard for you at the moment but I do believe it will happen again for you soon. I have a newfound belief in TCM so hopefully, if you choose to go that route again, they'll be able to help.

Chatbash-I was very strict when it came to cold drinks and put hot water in everything to make my drinks warm. Hated it it's not pleasant to drink warm water or juice but I must say I did not drink anything cold for nearly 3 months.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 14/05/2018 16:18

I know nothing about the cold drink thing? Is this something you were advised? My TCM guy never mentioned that. He just wanted me to eat lamb, which was not easy after being vegetarian for 20 years but it must have done something!

MATTSMAMMA · 14/05/2018 16:44

CLEO - thinking about you and hope you feel more positive soon. It’s very hard though sometimes I know. Thats very interesting re the lamb? Something I don’t eat at all - wonder why lamb?

Meanwhile AF has showed up for me onwards and upwards ...... again!
