Morning Faith! I'm currently sitting in a waiting room to get uncoiled (came yesterday and the dr wasn't in the clinic so was rather miffed I'd shaved my legs and power hosed my foof for nowt Grin) Still saying to DP as he was leaving for work "Are you sure????" Ha! I have a long day after this in terms of work so I'm hoping it's not too cramps afterwards, but then as I said to DP if I can't deal with that then I've no hope of managing to expel a tiny human... Have a good day all x

KeepingTheFaith9 · 19/04/2018 10:05

GOOD LUCK with the uncoiling STARS, I hope it isn't too uncomfortable.
Onwards and upwards for you. Fingers crossed for a speedy conception!
Faith. x

weasledee · 19/04/2018 10:12

Good luck Stars!

MATTSMAMMA · 19/04/2018 15:45

STARS - ‘power hosing foof’ Made me laugh Grin. Hope your all ok and enjoying the sunshine and coil removal wasn’t too painful STARS and you’ve got a bun in the oven very soon!

Waiting for AF which is later than normal this month (def not preggie though as haven’t even had chance to DTD this month!). I’ve been taking B6 and B12 though and usually that makes for a slightly longer cycle.

starsandstuff · 19/04/2018 18:04

Thanks all! I'm now officially uncoiled and ready to be upduffed Grin Was only the tiniest bit sore for a second and no cramps or spotting so thankfully all is good. I had a proper wobble while I waited. A woman was there with a lovely newborn, but all I could see was the pram and the bag and I was thinking "Oh my God they need so much STUFF and our house is SO SMALL and we won't be able to just get up at a moment's notice and GO TO THE PUB and what the hell am I DOING..." and I had a tiny panic attack. But I txt DP and he was lovely and I remembered why I want to try so I was ok when she finally called my name. I hope that isn't insensitive to those who've been trying so hard. It's just I never thought I'd be trying for kids so it's still hard to get my head around after 25 years of trying not to. Anyway sorry for rambling. Hope you're all enjoying the lovely afternoon sun x

KeepingTheFaith9 · 19/04/2018 23:54

Stars - I was like you once - got to 38 and my fertility clock started ticking - it was scary. But it’s also an exciting time. I’m sure anyone who is lucky enough to be a mummy will agree. Good luck to you in this your new adventure! Fingers tightly crossed! X

starsandstuff · 20/04/2018 00:26

Thank you SmileThanks

PetraRabbit · 20/04/2018 14:28

I'm feeling like a youngster at nearly 43! Has anyone else seen this news? Happy for them.

www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-5638139/Rachel-Weisz-pregnant-48.html

starsandstuff · 20/04/2018 15:56

I saw that. I love Rachel Weisz, she's so beautiful and seems really sweet and smart. (Ok maybe I actually have a little girl crush Grin ) Good luck to them.

MATTSMAMMA · 20/04/2018 18:02

PETRARABBIT - thanks for sharing Smile.
I’d not seen this! Love to see stories of hope! x

weasledee · 20/04/2018 20:36

Great story, we live in hope! Smile

BooseysMom · 23/04/2018 08:41

Welcome to Help, Chatbash and MessyHouse and now Critter and Hmmm! Great to have so many new ladies on board!
Ali & Weasle .. Really sorry about your early mc/chemicals. These tests are just so super sensitive.
Thinking of you both.
The only op i'm doing atm is Emma's Diary online ovulation calculator and amazingly it seems to be spot on! It says i should ovulate on 24th ..tomorrow. .and i have some mild cramp and ewfm so must make myself dtd tonight as i've only done it once so far over this phase!
If it's any consolation for the ladies who are 41 and thinking of giving up, i had DS at 41. I had given up hope after 2 mcs and had given up taking folic acid when it happened and i even had a very low risk abnormality test result ...so it can happen ladies! Now i hold out very little hope for dc2 as i'm 46 but the whole ttc thing never quite leaves you til the fat lady (in this case menopause!) sings!
Good luck to all lovely ladies on here! Flowers

weasledee · 23/04/2018 10:06

Thanks for that boosey, I do keep having waves of thinking I should just give up.... gonna give it 3 more months I think.....

SparrowSG · 23/04/2018 15:52

Hi all, mind if I join?

I was quite active on here in 2015 when I was TTC the first time and was lucky enough to have DS1 through IVF in Dec 2016. Back on the TTC wagon again and will probably fast-track back to IVF again in the next few months. We were TTC for almost three years before we did IVF the first time, and apart from having an ectopic preg in early 2014 had no luck at all (unexplained infertility). I don't think things are going to be any different this time around, hence the feeling of going for IVF again for DC2.
I'm 43 next weekend, so not really in a place where I want to try naturally for months (remember very well the heartbreak each month the first time around), especially since my AMH came back at 2.5 and my cycle is all over the place (possibly entering peri-menopause)...
Good luck to all and here's hoping for some good news stories from everyone (not just Rachel Weisz - although I do like her too Grin

littlemimosa · 23/04/2018 20:57

Hi and welcome to all the newbies. I love seeing more and more over 40s ttc. I don't think people talk about it in real life, a bit taboo for some strange reason. I admit I keep it to myself for fear of being judged. It makes me wonder if loads of my friends, fellow mums and colleagues over 40 are secretly ttc a last hope child...

Great article Petra! I love seeing 40+ pregnant celebs:) 48 is amazing, good for her. Who wouldn't want to have a baby with Daniel Craig lol?
Gives me great hope.

How are you weasel and Ali? How are your bodies adjusting? I hope you're getting some love from your families and looking after yourselves xx

Not much to say here. I think I'm about 4DPO but I just don't know for sure these days. First proper cycle after my HSG... Hubby handed his sperm sample in today for testing so we'll get all those results back in 3 weeks. Fingers crossed for good news.

weasledee · 23/04/2018 21:24

Hi little im ok. Nothing much to report, fertile week starts this weekend I'm guessing, so out come the OPK's again 🙂

KeepingTheFaith9 · 23/04/2018 22:26

Hi ladies. Welcome Sparrow - lots of positive energy here so hopefully you will feel part of something encouraging and motivating. Not much to report from me. I still have no idea when I ovulated - should have been a week ago in theory but seeing as OPKs don’t work for me who knows - I’ve had CM for a whole week, and now on CD 22... 2 more weeks of accupuncture & herbs to go till my course finishes... I’m pretty sure nothing is happening that’s BFP .. tbh I would just like to have a decent period so I can see my lining looking better. Still remaining hopeful. 🙏🏻😊x

PutTheChocEggDown · 23/04/2018 22:27

I'm temp charting at the minute and trying to lose some weight. So no unprotected DTD just yet - I want to get a bit fitter before committing to another pregnancy. And if I'm honest I'm not even sure it's the right thing to do.

Orchid222 · 24/04/2018 07:35

Mimosa- hope the sperm analysis is good. I found the cycle right after my HyCoSy very confusing. The doctor on cd15 said 2-3 days for ovulation but I didn't get a peak on opk until cd22.
This cycle I started getting high fertility 4 days ago but no peak yet. I'm a bit worried because I only have 3 more sticks left and don't want to buy another box since I'm thinking of IUI next cycle so I believe the clinic will be able to tell exactly when my ovulation happens. As for this cycle I have to hope I get a peak in the next 3 days. My clinic appt is next Wednesday so I'll post after that to let you know how it went.

And welcome to all the new ladies! We've been a bit quiet on here so hopefully the increase in numbers will translate into increased activity on this board :)

KeepingTheFaith9 · 24/04/2018 09:09

Yes Orchid - it’s been a bit quiet since JoJo and Cleo left to sail pregnant waters! We need to keep active. Can I ask - if you OV on CD 22 - is this every month and how long is your cycle? I’m beginning to wonder if I’ve got it all wrong and I’m actually O-ing a lot later than I’d thought... maybe the herbs have altered things .. I definitely had much more CM this month - lots from 14-21 which is unusual for me... x

Orchid222 · 24/04/2018 17:17

Faith- I'm never sure when I ovulate but go by opks as the best estimate. One thing I can say for sure my opks started turning positive later than usual as soon as I started the herbs. They used to go positive on cd17 every month then with herbs it was around cd20 and the last cycle it was cd22. I did read online that many women experienced longer cycles immediately following a HyCoSy so I blamed that on my opk going positive as late as cd22. As for the cycle length it's usually around 32 days.

Karigan1 · 24/04/2018 17:50

Well personally I’m throwing my hands up in disgust at this cycle lol. First o was late (cd16 rather than usual 10/11) but that may have been to do with heavy exercise but then at 6dpo there’s no boob soreness or anything and normally there is. Seems to me that maybe this one was anovulatory! Grrr

littlemimosa · 24/04/2018 18:20

Weasel - glad to hear you're ok. Any more thoughts on going to see your doctor?

Orchid - funny you mention this....I usually ovulate early in my cycle (CD9-10ish) but this month i got a nearly positive opk and some ewcm on CD14 (so we dtd that day and the day after) but then today (CD19) I've had loads more ewcm and ovulation pains. lo and behold i got a very positive opk this afternoon. It's very late for me (but a good thing i think) but my first period post HSG went on for 8 long days. Presume everything is delayed, but I'm not complaining. Now need to persuade DH to dtd again (and he had to 'produce' in a pot yesterday for his sperm sample lol )

Karigan - I had what i thought was an annovulatory cycle a few months ago but i then ended up ovulating on CD26 or something crazy like that. Keep testing and knicker checking I say.

Chatbash72 · 24/04/2018 18:52

Had a miscarriage at 5.5 weeks at beginning of March. Last cycle af arrived on day 33, normally a 28-30 day girl.. this cycle I think I ovulated at the end of my af.. my boobs have looked like I should have a small infant attached and I have gone up a bra size.. a.m. currently wearing old maternity bras.. they aren't sore just big and swollen ( sorry tmi) I'm only day 15, a hormonal hot mess.. today have had many crying moments and have had lots of tummy twinges and cramps and a little bleeding yesterday morning.. not sure I even dare to dream but another 15 days of trying to wrap myself in cotton wool and hoping something sticks..
