Thread 6... 😑

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

NEW RULE ALERT!

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Hope you're all ok - sorry to hear about the FP's

Been a bit quiet here - we're moving house tomorrow so all energy is going on that! Still using the ovusense monitor and I've not ovulated yet, so at least if I ovulate this month I'll be in and settled but not really expecting to ovulate anyway (pcos)

Have lived off takeaways for the last week so actually looking forward to getting back into my diet once I have a kitchen again!!

MynameisJune · 17/04/2018 09:12

Has anyone seen that Chris Evans wife is having twins after IVF? He mentioned last year on his show that they were doing IVF.

Paranormalbouquet · 17/04/2018 09:14

Starwishing that sounds hard. DD is just learning about death as a concept so I think that’s what’s setting her off.

I might try a mooncup since everyone speaks so highly of it! Definitely heavy bleeding is not an issue anymore, although last period was heavier than usual and that was only 2 weeks after miscarriage bleeding finally stopped so hopeful my lining might be better again this month.

Either 15 or 17dpo now. Temps still high but no FP. Cramps still there. Getting annoyed! I’m fairly sure I did ovulate as have had high temps and sore nipples for 2 weeks! Although there was a temp dip on day 4 after ovulation, maybe both myself and FF miscalculated and I’m only 11dpo. I haven’t had a cycle longer than 30 days in a very long time though, it’s weird isn’t it.

Paranormalbouquet · 17/04/2018 09:15

@LG93 good luck with house move. I would love a new kitchen!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/04/2018 09:33

@LexieJean. I apologise if you've said before but what were your Dhs numbers? My DH has just had the one test, all the other numbers were pretty good bit his morphology was 3%

LexieJean · 17/04/2018 09:57

No probs @looking I can’t recall the exact numbers but first time the quantity was v high and the morphology was 0.5 so really bad. The one doctor explained it to me as there not being a huge problem because the high number of swimmers. The second sa was ‘normal’. When I questioned the morphology she said my OH was top 90th percentile. When we spoke to the ivf clinic though they were concerned hence needing to see our exact results before proceeding and possible icsi. Made me feel silly for not getting print outs when the fertility clinic doctor spoke to us and just taking the word ‘normal’ without specifics. But I was too worried at the time to be thinking ahead!

Paranormalbouquet · 17/04/2018 10:06

@LexieJean I was at a science talk once about semen analysis (a bit random I know!) and apparently it’s very user dependent. They actually count sperm with naked eye under a microscope and multiply to get results from full sample. And also a mans count/morphology can change depending on lifestyle. So it’s important it’s measured in a centre that does them all the time and repeated to make sure consistent results.

starwishing · 17/04/2018 10:09

We were told OH was ok even though his morphology was 3% because his count and motility was high. I still worry about the fact 97% are defective even in high numbers! What if they get in the way and stop the goodies from getting where they need to be! I sometimes think of it as like summer when I was in London. I used to get the tube between jobs and always had to duck, squeeze and run between the tourists and commuters!

Aph413 · 17/04/2018 10:17

Hello everyone. I think I'm going to join you all over here, feeling a bit fed up with it all and want to throw a tantrum if I'm honest. Here's my stats for you.
27
8 months in
60-80 day cycles since mirena removal.
Fed up of it all, the bank upped my credit card today so I spent £150 on an ovusense monitor. Sensible move but I can't keep googling getting pregnant with 60 day cycles to try keep my hopes up

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/04/2018 10:18

@starwishing. It sounds so shocking when you say "97% are abnormal" DHs GP was fairly positive about his results, as was my GP when I mentioned it to him. It still does worry me though, I never really thought about DHs sperm before then but sometimes after we've had sex now and I'm lying there, I think "I hope some good ones got up there" lol I know that's silly!

Pinkemi · 17/04/2018 10:19

Sorry ive been so quiet.. had about 4 pages to catch up with! Smile

FP is now pretty much coming to an end.. So I am "sorta" excited about being able to start a new cycle of TTC.

Have decided that I am not going to temp.. not going to use opks and just get on with life. Ive always got in the back of my mind what day I am on... and it is driving me nuts! just have to make sure that my DH and I are having lots of sex.. and fingers crossed it will mean a BFP.

I'm still doing my acupuncture and reflexology though.. And trying to work out which vitamins I should keep and which I should ditch.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/04/2018 10:21

@Aph413. Hi :-) Having long and unpredictable cycles sucks (I have PCOS) I was looking at the Ovusense earlier, I'm thinking of getting one myself as regular OPKs don't work for me.

LexieJean · 17/04/2018 10:21

Haha! 😂 @star I love your analogy! I think that’s why we were told all was normal both times as count and motility were high and second time round she insisted the morphology was ok too.

Perhaps the second time was more reliable as it was the fertility clinic in the hospital @para? He had to do it on site rather than a delivery from home! It seems like there’d be a large margin for error with human counting involved.

Bubblegum89 · 17/04/2018 10:29

Morning ladies. Still no fp. Had a bit of brown spotting this morning so put my mooncup in. Went to check it just now and there’s nothing in it, just a tiny bit of brown cm around the top (maybe a bit tmi for early morning) No cramps either. I’m wondering if maybe fp will start tomorrow but who knows.

Paranormal definitely try a mooncup out. I’m annoyed that I spent so much money and so much time being thoroughly uncomfortable by using tampons. It’s kind of cool to see how much blood you lose during fp, you can’t really tell with tampons and pass as it gets absorbed. And it’s easier to see how “healthy” the blood is. I’ve only been using mine since November and I know I’ll be using it every month now for the foreseeable future and it takes the sting out of fp showing up because I’m like “well at least I can run my little period experiments” lol

Also, I am having one of those days where I’m like “how the hell is there such a thing as unexplained infertility??” Why won’t my OH’s perfect sperm get up into my lovely clear tubes and just meet the goddamn egg I know I’m releasing and then why won’t it implant on my apparently perfect lining??? Argh. It honestly drives me mad thinking about it most days

@looking hello! I've still spent £40 on ovulation tests this month. No idea if there is actually anything wrong with me though and I've been told I've still got to wait a year to even investigate my periods

Pinkemi · 17/04/2018 10:44

oh my god.. Ive been taking maca root.. and just read that apparently you are meant to stop taking it after ovulation! I havent been doing that.. Confused

Pinkemi · 17/04/2018 10:46

although saying that.. another website says its fine to take throughout the cycle. urgh.. i hate the internet at times!

LookingAtTheStars89 · 17/04/2018 10:50

@Aph413 I did that one month with the clear blue ones and I still didn't get a positive! Angry I have an appointment with gynaecology soon so hopefully I will be a little more in the know.

starwishing · 17/04/2018 11:08

@Bubblegum89 I'm obsessed with looking at he colour of my blood! I didn't realise how black it would be 😆 I'm wondering if post lap it might be different as there'll be less endometriosis feeding it

starwishing · 17/04/2018 11:11

Do you know why I like this thread? Because there's no one posting negative hpt and everyone saying "I can see a line" constantly. If I can't see a line I just chuck it 😼

LexieJean · 17/04/2018 11:25

Welcome @aph 👋 trust you’ve read the rules and some of our history so you know we’re all bat shit crazy about TTC most of the time! Your cycles sound unbearably long, v frustrating that you can’t get some tests started yet. Patience is one of my biggest struggles with TTC!

Maca root powder warning: it is DISGUSTING! @pinkemi I’m just about to try the tablets, figured I’d take them every day but who knows!

LexieJean · 17/04/2018 11:26

How did your scratch go @si1ver?

Si1ver · 17/04/2018 12:43

It was ok @LexieJean thanks for asking. The woman doing it kept saying "this isn't right, the NHS should be helping you" which was dead useful Hmm

The scratch itself was uncomfortable and I had period style cramps afterwards. There's been some bleeding today, but nothing dramatic. In other news my meds were delivered today and are stashed in the fridge

I yam what I yam
LexieJean · 17/04/2018 13:03

Shit just got real @si1ver

Bubblegum89 · 17/04/2018 14:10

Ooh si1ver how exciting/terrifying! The nurse is right, the NHS should be helping you. I think it’s stupid that not only is it a total postcode lottery anyway but also that insurance doesn’t cover IVF treatment here like it does in the US. Where are you getting your IVF? You’ve probably said a hundred times but I’ve forgotten!

Starwishing glad I’m not the only one 😂 after my HyCoSy, my period was heavier and redder with less clots so not quite as exciting but still interesting to see how much you lose. If that amount started coming out of my nose, people would tell me to get to the hospital haha

I know I’m going on and on and ON about this but I’m getting so pissed off now. I thought I was onto something this morning when I had a tiny bit of watery brown spotting. I never spot for a full day, brown spotting for me means fp will be here within an hour, if that. Unless it’s at night then I get fp in the morning the second I stand up as it’s been sat there waiting lol. Mooncup has been in since 8am and I just took it out a few minutes ago. I’ve had no cramps or anything but figured I was just getting lucky. Expected to see at least a bit of blood but there was NOTHING. One tiny dot of thick brown-tinged cm but that’s it. I’m starting to worry now. I’m 3 days “late”. I’ve never been this late before apart from the time I ov’d on cd20 after coming off norethisterone and even then my LP was still the normal 14 days. I’m panicking a bit that something is wrong, mostly because of my history of expected scar tissue.

I just don’t feel like fp is coming anytime soon. I haven’t got the heavy feeling in my uterus, no cramps, my boobs haven’t ballooned. They are a little tender on the right hand side but no other impending fp symptoms. I know I’m not pregnant so now my mind is overthinking
