TTC #2 - March BFPs

Cariad2017 · 23/02/2018 19:54

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

I gave in and tested this morning at 9 DPO - BFN 🤦🏻‍♀️

My BBT is still high - does anyone know when it's likely to drop if I'm not PG, is it right before AF? Not sure whether I should take any comfort from it not having dipped yet.....

MynameisJune · 12/03/2018 08:39

@paranormal thank you, hope you feel better soon. Tooth ache is the worth pain. One of my wisdom teeth is also impacted so now I’m scared!

@cariad thank you, I keep telling myself IC’s aren’t great but I don’t know if I’m just fooling myself.

My heart rate has been up and down all week, it usually falls before af rises during af and then drops again until ovulation. It’s jumping around all over so I don’t think it’s hugely reliable. Not for me at least!

CatRen27 · 12/03/2018 08:39

Hi knitting we're cycle buddies at 9dpo today. From what I've read your temp will drop immediately before or just after af, so still high at this point is good. Sorry for the bfn, its totally too early to be testing but we both did it..

MynameisJune · 12/03/2018 08:40

Worst not worth!

Paranormalbouquet · 12/03/2018 08:45

June my HR shoots up after ovulation and is then up and down throughout luteal phase, but only drops back properly on day 2 of my cycle normally. During cycles when I’ve conceived its remained up and down but at least 5bpm over the follicular phase HR.

Was hoping to use this cycle to monitor it but now I’ve got an infection it just won’t be helpful!

MynameisJune · 12/03/2018 08:49

@paranormal mine hasn’t dropped down to what it usually is before ov but it’s been only 2 or 3bpm above on some days and 5 or 6bpm above on other days. Who knows what’s going on

Knittinggurl · 12/03/2018 08:50

Thanks @CatRen27 that's really helpful

I know, I can't help myself, I don't know what I was expecting and now I feel low, I need to get a grip!
Waste of a FRER too 🙄

Paranormalbouquet · 12/03/2018 08:50

Also I wouldn’t panic re the wisdom tooth- I’m 35 so they’ve clearly been there a long time without major issues. Probably the miscarriage and anaemia following it reduced my ability to fight off infection which is why this suddenly happened. Pain improving quite quickly so hopefully will be better by morning!

mayago · 12/03/2018 12:22

I've been lying low as trying to ignore how crazy the TWW makes me Blush I did however somehow justify using a FRER yesterday as mother's day made stupidly early testing okay?? Anyhow, at 7dpo it was unsurprisingly negative.. Not feeling as optimistic now - why do I do this to myself??

Massive congratulations FountainOfYouth and BadBadBeans! I hope there are many more from this thread to join you with a November (?) baby!

Paranormal tooth pain is the worst. You have my sympathies! I had two of my four impacted wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthesia years ago.

TwittleBee · 12/03/2018 12:49

Paranormal ouch ouch ouch! so sorry you're having to deal with that right now!

Sorry to read of the BFN some of you ladies having been getting over past day! Hopefully you all have just been too early with the testing

How early can we use a FRER without it being too early though?
Based on the +OPK I should be ovulating today which means I'll be 10dpo on start of AF?

mayago · 12/03/2018 13:16

TwittleBee They say a FRER is effective up to 6 days before AF is due. But you may still get a negative as it is more accurate closer to AF date. Really I should just wait and see if AF is late, but I've never once managed to do that!!

TwittleBee · 12/03/2018 13:23

mayago I haven't managed it either since TTC with #2!
(with #1 we didn't realise I could be pregnant until AF didn't turn up on day expected so POAS on AF date)

largepinotplease · 12/03/2018 14:04

I'm so confused 🤷🏻‍♀️ today I'm 14 DPO and did a test first thing that came back negative. I think my ovulation tracker app is slightly out as I believe I should have started AF on Saturday but the app says tomorrow (31 day cycle) which I think is too long. I had what I thought were period cramps this morning and fully expected to come on but still nothing...I know it could happen tomorrow in which case the app is right and my cycle is 31 days and not 28. I also had very very light pink discharge when I wiped on the 26th which was my ovulation day and so could have been ovulation bleed?

With DS it took a whole week after I missed my period to get a positive test. My boobs feel slightly heavier but that could also be an AF sign but the biggest thing I've noticed is that I am having the most vivid dreams every night, I had this when I was pregnant with DS and it could be wishful thinking or I'm just so tired I'm clutching at straws that I think it's a sign. If I don't come on tomorrow I'll be doing another test by Friday!

Congratulations on the BFPs so far and good luck to those still in the window for March! Sorry to hear about the BFNs 😞

TTC #2 - March BFPs
CatRen27 · 12/03/2018 23:05

Errrrr soz ladies my phone malfunctioned!

MynameisJune · 13/03/2018 06:24

Bfn this morning on an FR so definitely sure I’m out this month and my cycle is just being weird and long. Not sure why I expected any different after so long TTC.

CatRen27 · 13/03/2018 07:08

Aw sorry mynameis that's rubbish. Tea and cake for you today. Hope af shows soon so you can try again next month. Hugs xx

Cariad2017 · 13/03/2018 07:31

CatRen - 10dpo is still very early, particularly on an IC (so you’re still in with a shot) but thank you for posting a BFN for once. It made me chuckle! 😂

BFN this morning at 11dpo so I’m fairly sure I’m out... Roll on Cycle 20. At this rate, I’m starting to think that abstinence would give us exactly the same chance of pregnancy as ttc does.... On a more positive note we have an appointment next week to get the results of DH’s DNA fragmentation test (which could lead to us ultimately finding a reason for his poor morphology) and we have an appointment at the Fertility clinic on 28 March where I’m hoping to book a proper internal exam... It’s all feeling very futile right now though.

Sorry for the BFN Mynameis. Did you do anything different this month (vitamin/ supplement wise?) Being in limbo is horrid. I hope you get a resolution very very soon. Xxx

@CatRen27 I had a BFN at 10 DPO this morning too.....

TwittleBee · 13/03/2018 07:57

largepinot cycles are confusing ey? Hopefully you will get a BFP soon and perhaps will be a while like last time before it shows. Fx!

Knittinggurl and CatRen hopefully you are both just too early. So frustrating though to have to wait it out.

June sorry you're out. Hopefully April will be your month xx

Cariad sorry to read it looks like cycle 20 for you now. But hopefully your app and the tests come back with some answers to get you on right track if you don't get BFP before.

Beginning to wonder if my short luteal phase might be an issue for us? It's only 9/10 days. Stupidly turned for google for answers why it might be taking us a while (even though it's only cycle 7 and so actually not even abnormal amount of time to be TTC yet).

Cariad2017 · 13/03/2018 08:07

Twittle - I can’t remember if you’re still bfing, but if not, if I was you I’d be tempted to try some supplements to see if they extend your LP. I know lots of people who swear by Angus Castus for sorting out wonky cycles (not that I’m saying that yours are particularly wonky) (it has to be taken in the morning if you want it to have an impact)...

If you want to try something milder, vitamin B6 (which you take throughout the month) can help regulate hormones as can evening primrose oil (which should only be taken up until ov).

@cat 10dpo is still really early, don’t be too down yet.

@cariad sorry for the bfn at 11dpo again it’s still really early.

I did start talking Maca root this month and my magnesium tablets have B6 in them but they are literally the same tablets I took with DD and they didn’t affect my cycle. So maybe it’s the Maca root, although I stopped that last Thursday to try and bring af on. At this point I’d have had to have ovulated on day 17 or later which is over a week later than normal. Not out of the realms of possibility. I’ve decided I’m not taking any further supplements only folic acid and vitamin D. My cycle is better when left to its own devices.

I think the worst thing this month is that I’ve been on the verge of vomiting all the time, I’m nearly crying at everything, and I’m exhausted more than usual.

And to top it off a Nursery Mum was sporting a baby bump this morning. Her DS is about 6-8 months younger than DD so they will get the age gap we wanted. I know comparison is the thief of joy but sometimes I can’t help wondering what we must have done wrong in a previous life to be punished like this.
