TTC #2 - March BFPs

Cariad2017 · 23/02/2018 19:54

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

It's heartbreaking to see what a tough time some of the ladies on here are going through Flowers

If I did actually ovulate after my most recent OPK then I would be about 10dpo tomorrow. But I've been getting positive OPKs every 2 weeks for the past 5 months so I'm not holding my breath. Tempted to test tomorrow to get the inevitable BFN done and out the way. Getting to the point that I may just take a break for now and get my referral for surgery and take the risk.

Fififiesta · 06/03/2018 21:44

Sorry to hear that a lot of you are having a rough time at the moment. It's so hard to stay positive when you don't know what the future holds. Like if someone said to me that it will take me two years of trying to get pregnant but when I do it will be fine, I'd be cool with it but its the waiting and the hoping and worrying...

I also feel guilty every time I think about having #2 because I feel so lucky to have a healthy #1 I know it's silly but feel like I might jinx it!

I'm tired today but hope you all had a good day, fingers crossed for anyone testing tomorrow, AF is due sometime in the next 5-7 days for me and I feel perfectly normal not sure if that is a good or bad sign!

mayago · 06/03/2018 22:01

Hi ladies! Joining in this month with some very quiet optimism!

Age: 36
Cycle: 2
AF due: 19 March
DD: 14 months

I think we caught fertile week. We've been away the past few days, and our timing is usually pretty poor. Hello, TWW. I've not missed you!

Hoping it's a positive month for us all Smile

Boboelephant · 06/03/2018 22:03

So sorry for everyone feeling down. It's such a hard road isn't it!? I feel like in my real life no-one can really relate to my journey with ttc #2. I set my hopes so high each month that I'm petrified of how far they can fall if I keep being disappointed. I worry that my optimism has to run out at some point. It's so tough.
Sorry @slippy that you got your af. @funky maybe you should call the doc about your bleeding?
Good luck to those testing soon @Badbeans and @fifi and @bambamber
Hope the doc gives you some answers @Peanut.

BadBadBeans · 07/03/2018 10:48

Some lovely stories on that thread Peanut - thanks for sharing.

Bamb what does your partner think about the surgery? Good luck with the test if you do it.

Fifi oh yes, a crystal ball would be so helpful, and not just for baby making either! I also know what you mean about the luck thing... I feel like I used all mine up getting pregnant immediately with DS1 and him being so generally delicious!

Good luck Maya; quiet optimism is exciting!

Bobo, have a read of the thread that Peanut posted. You're not alone, and there is lots of hope.

I couldn't find any FRERs in Morrison's this morning so I have a couple of blue line cheapies. I remember having to really search for a FRER last time as well. Annoying!

TwittleBee · 07/03/2018 11:33

Fififiesta completely with you on the worried about jinxing it and feeling guilty. I find it tough to talk to my friends about it as they all really struggled to get their #1 and we didn't even have to try so feel as though I am being selfish.

mayago Hi there! Good luck to you too. fingers crossed.

Bambamber I really hope you get a lovely surprise and if you do take a test its a BFP

I am CD12 so getting close to ovulation but no chance of DTD last night and doubt we will tonight either as OH gets back so late.

mayago · 07/03/2018 12:31

BadBadBeans FRERs are £6 for a two pack in ASDA! And there's a pound voucher in them as a consolation prize if you need them again the following month

TwittleBee it's harder fitting everything in with number 2, isn't it! Fingers crossed you find a good opportunity.

Last time around I came off the pill in January, and we were pregnant in April! I'd like to think I've learned more about how conception happens since then, but who knows.

I've struggled with PCOS, and was expecting years of trying last time around, so I've probably been a bit spoiled it happened so quickly...Hmm

TwittleBee · 07/03/2018 13:14

Same here with PCOS mayago which was why it was such a shock with #1. How long do we TTC before we should see a doctor if we have known PCOS and struggling to conceive?

Paranormalbouquet · 07/03/2018 13:24

@Secondtimelucky1980 I’ve been referred to RMC clinic so am just waiting to see now. I suspect it will be something like that- trying anticlotting drugs/steroids. I have lower uterine adhesions though so most likely thing is they caused the 2 at 5-6weeks whereas this latest one implanted high and away from them so possibly just bad genetic luck. I’m booked in for procedure to try remove adhesions but there’s not a very good chance of success so I’m in 2 minds about it. Part of me just thinks I should keep going and hope a good embryo eventually implants high, but the more sensible part of me says to wait for the clinic.

@Peanut1980 hope all goes well with the doctor. I know lots of success stories in my personal life too which always gives hope.

I’m feeling more positive now. Trying not to panic about my age and waiting to try again- taking it a month at a time, have arranged a second opinion with another gynaecologist over Easter and will make up my mind for sure then.

Justwaitingforaline · 07/03/2018 13:44

Can I join? Grin
Age:24
Cycle: 18
AF due : 10th March
DD is 3.5
3 chemical pregnancies and an early loss at 5 weeks.

This is the first month I haven’t peed on a stick by now. I think I ovulated on the 22nd of Feb which would make me 13dpo today! We haven’t tried at all this month as TTC turned me a bit loopy ( I’m sure a lot of you can relate to that) and I plan to hold out testing until AF is late if my willpower carries on! DH has his SA results back next week and my internal ultrasound was normal, as were my bloods.

mayago · 07/03/2018 14:25

PCOS apparently isn't a static condition TwittleBee I had mine confirmed with an utrasound maybe 10 years ago. But in an early scan at 6 weeks the technician looked at my ovaries, and there weren't any signs of cysts. I think the general advice is after trying for a year, see your GP.

Glad you're feeling more positive paranormal I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope next month is the one for you! It difficult when you feel age isn't on your side - this is where I am atm.

Ooh, Justwaiting when is AF due? I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with number two Flowers

Bambamber · 07/03/2018 14:38

@TwittleBee thankyou, but unfortunately was a BFN

@BadBadBeans he's supportive of me having it done when I think is best. I'm torn because I'm in so much pain and the last op worked wonders and made a world of difference, but with each op the risk of scar tissue and adhesions increases. The fact my Dr made a point of asking if we wanted more children and literally told me if I wanted more to do so now and they will do the op afterwards makes it so much harder. But hey ho it is what it is

slippynips · 07/03/2018 14:42

Thanks ladies for the condolences. My OH has been away for a couple of nights so I have just eaten my body weight in mini eggs and battled with a stroppy 2 year old! Month or 2 off now. I’m very torn about it. On one hand it is the sensible and responsible thing to do as we can’t afford another baby in December/January. But on the other hand I hate that money is controlling us growing our family. Perhaps it will give my cycles a chance to recover. I always had a very regular 28 day cycle but 1st month after miscarriage it was 32 days and this month it was 30 days. I’m feeling quite sad and fed up with it all, especially when my BIL and wife and my best friend are both pregnant, and I really am happy for them but don’t really want to hear it. And that makes me feel terrible too. AND it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday and we are skint. I’m not bothered about me but feel awful that we can’t get our mums any flowers.

Any Debbie Downer over here is going to chill out now DS is having a nap, and look forward to seeing OH tonight!

BadBadBeans · 07/03/2018 19:59

Argh Twittle, hope you manage to DTD despite knackeredness tonight?! I was a bit frustrated this month that my fertile week happened to land right when DH was too busy / knackered to be doing much baby dancing!

mayago oooooo thank you! I don't know where my nearest Asda is but shall duly go and have a Google!

Paranormal are there any drawbacks to the adhesion removal?

Justwaiting I haven't been tracking my ovulation at all, but based on my period dates we are probably test date buddies? Friday-ish?

Bambamber oh, that's so hard :( Wonderful that your DP is supportive whatever you decide, though. Could you talk to your Dr some more about it?

slippy hoorah for mini eggs! I've eaten a bucketload of sugary dried fruit today and now feel like my teeth are going to fall out. Must be hard to have such close friends and family pregnant when you are struggling. Regarding your mums, could you make them something with your 2 year old's help? A little card with a 'bunch of flowers' on maybe, that is made up of their handprints? I was thrilled today because nursery sent DS home with a card for me. Last year was my first Mother's Day and DH didn't bother to do anything. I was a bit hurt - but this year, nursery have got it covered! Woohoo!

BadBadBeans · 07/03/2018 20:00

Lord, I just googled and my nearest Asda is 20 miles away. Maybe won't be getting a FRER from there after all! Ha!

Knittinggurl · 07/03/2018 20:57

Hi all, please can I join?

Age 39
Cycle #3
DS 8 months

AF is due around 17/03, I'm currently 4 DPO. My cycle is still working itself out after DS and has been a bit irregular the last couple of months (28 days then 36) but I think I OV on CD 17

Good luck and fingers crossed for everyone on this thread x

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 05:48

mayago ah that might explain why my cycles are so regular now! Used to be all over the show before #1.

Bambamber so sorry. Really wishing you so much luck that you get some answers and positive ways forward soon.

slippynips oh bless You, cannot be easy and don't feel bad for feeling miserable about other people's pregnancies. Totally normal. BadBadBeans' idea about homemade card or something is a great idea though.

BadBadBeans no chance of DTD last night. Ended up going to hospital to see my Nan, she's just fallen really ill with pneumonia. Doesn't look good. Took a opk though and came back negative (I'm looking for a dark line right? OH accidently threw instructions away as I left them on the table!) So still have time to DTD this month. How have you been though?

Knittinggurl hi welcome! Super good luck to you

Boboelephant · 08/03/2018 07:12

@Bambamber hope you get some answers soon.
@slippynips I agree a handmade card is a lovely idea. Anything done by the kids or a nice picture of the kids always goes down well with grandmas.
@TwittleBee so sorry about your Nan. Hope she recovers. With your opk you want the line to be as dark or darker than the control line. They can change pretty quickly so it helps to do them at least twice a day so you don't miss your surge.
@Knittinggurl welcome. We have the same cycles. 5dpo here too.

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 08:56

Boboelephant thank you!

Knittinggurl · 08/03/2018 08:57

@boboelephant any idea when you might test? I lost count of how many times I tested last month but I definitely lost the plot and my period was 4 days late which didn't help. This time I'll wait til
closer to when AF is due. I got my BFP on 10 DPO with my DC so I can't help myself testing really early though I know it's stupid 🙈

Boboelephant · 08/03/2018 09:53

@Knittinggurl I am thinking next Thursday. I'll be 12dpo and I think af is due Friday or Saturday. With my DS I didn't test until I was already 6 weeks- long cycles at the time. I got my last bfp at about 13dpo I think. The months I have tested super early it's always a neg!

Fififiesta · 08/03/2018 13:34

I stupidly tested this morning, I am CD24 so probably too early but BFN anyway Sad With #1 I got a BFP 4 days before AF was due but now my cycle is more irregular so AF is due sometime between CD27-29. Feeling like it's not our month.

I have told DH to get some wine in.

MynameisJune · 08/03/2018 13:53

Af due today but no sign yet, although cramps have started so I’m thinking it’s not far away. I’ll hopefully not see many of you on the April bus.

TwittleBee · 08/03/2018 14:05

Fififiesta oh I hope you're just too early so much! Really wishing you lots of luck. Enjoy the wine though of you decide to have a wine evening! Lush.

June hoping that the cramps aren't period ones! Don't wanna see you on the April bus either

BadBadBeans · 08/03/2018 19:53

Hi Knittinggurl! I'm a keen knitter, too. Haven't managed much in the last 19 months though, funnily enough...!

Twittle oh no, I'm really sorry to hear about your Nan. That's so hard. Glad you were able to go and see her. I'm also glad to hear that you are still in this month - hope ovulation happens for you in the next couple of days.

Ahhh Fifi hopefully it was just too early. Especially if AF might be due in 5 days' time. Wine is a good shout just in case though.

June did AF visit today in the end?

So, my period is due probably around today or tomorrow. I've not had any sign of it yet, but since DS my periods have been total stealth ninjas anyway - sometimes I have no idea they're happening until I've bled through my trousers (!), which is v v different to my periods before having a baby, as they were usually quite painful and announced themselves with cramps well in advance. If nothing happens overnight then I'll be testing in the morning with the aforementioned Morrison's cheapy so I know whether or not to allow myself a drink with friends tomorrow evening.

Got to say though, it's REALLY hard not testing when you know you have a pregnancy test in the house. The only thing that's stopped me from doing it already is knowing that I got a negative with DS two days before my period was due.
