TTC #2 - March BFPs

Cariad2017 · 23/02/2018 19:54

If you’re ttc #2 and due your AF/ BFP in March then this is the bus for you.

For my sins, I’m a bit of a veteran of the ttc circuit, and ironically if we get a BFP this month, my EDD is likely to be DS’s 3rd Birthday. Stats are as follows:

Age: 35
Cycle: 18 (without a hint of a BFP - yawn)
AF due: 15 March
DS: Aged 2

Desperately hoping to invoke the law of sod this month as we have a fertility clinic appointment on 26 March to get the ball rolling on IVF. You have no idea how much I’d love to cancel it!

Hi everyone

Age 24
Cycle #2 (although cycle #7 if you count the cycles before we took a 2 month break)
AF due 24th March

We didn't expect #2 to be difficult considering #1 was a happy surprise.

Good luck to everyone this month. Hope we get BFPs for winter babies 🤞

Although must admit bit unsure about prospect of having Xmas baby! Already have too many birthdays in Dec/Jan In my family!

BadBadBeans · 01/03/2018 14:28

Yass how did your return to work go? Hope everyone was sensitive.

Cariad - hilarious that you nearly got caught by your BIL. Nightmare!

Funky thank you; I had used Ovia (briefly) when we were last TTC, but back then I had a massive and carefully-kept history of all my periods, which I was able to back-fill. This time I can't even quite remember which day of the week my last period started. Symptomatic of having a toddler?! I've relogged in to my account anyway. If I start getting more scientific about ovulation then I'll get a fertility friend account too - thank you for the recommendation.

I'm not sure we have dtd enough to be in this month. Managed it twice toward the end of my fertile period according to Ovia, and once the day before the fertile period. Not feeling mad hopeful about it. We shall see. I've got a week until my period is due, so I'll only take a test if it's late.

BadBadBeans · 01/03/2018 14:29

Oh and Twittle I love the idea of a winter baby! My first was born in July and JEEZ was it hot in hospital! Phew!

Fififiesta · 01/03/2018 14:41

I'm in, hello!

AF due sometime around 12-13th I think, she's an inconsiderate visitor who is often early or late or unnaccounced!

This is Cycle #2 for us

I had a winter baby before, hate to burst your bubble Bad but it was BOILING in hospital even though it was icy cold outside!

TwittleBee · 01/03/2018 16:04

BadBadBeans hopefully it was still enough to get you a BFP! Also completely understand the hot hospital, I had a July baby last time round too and it was a bloody heat wave. Although will skidding around on ice whilst heavily pregnant be any better haha

Fififiesta hi there and also argh no not hot hospital even in winter!

I am tempted by a home birth... Although with preterm PROM last time round not sure how likely that will be

Funkyemzie · 01/03/2018 16:34

My DD was born in August and all I can remember of that morning was the silence in the room after she had gone to sleep all but for the 3 fans that were going full blast because of the absolute blistering heat. That will be 11 years ago this August. 😞

Secondtimelucky1980 · 01/03/2018 22:46

Hi All.

I’m out unfortunately! I’ve just realised I miscalculated my ovulation. Anyway I wish you all so much luck. See some (but hopefully none!) of you on the April bus.

Xx

TwittleBee · 02/03/2018 07:43

Secondtimelucky so sorry to hear you're out this month. Fingers crossed for you get lucky next time and you figure out your ovulation this time round correctly. How frustrating xx

BadBadBeans · 02/03/2018 11:07

Fifi Oh boo, I suspected that might be the case! We were in hospital for 6 days last time and I just started going slightly mad with the heat! Ugh Funky yes I bet that memory is vivid!

Twittle excuse my ignorance, but what does PROM stand for? We had an induction at 41+5 then emergency C-section at 41+6 - definitely no home birth for us in future! I don't even want to try for a VBAC. Would have loved to have had a water birth with low lighting and no drugs, but evidently I am not built for it!

Second that's annoying for you. Hope you get it sorted next time round. My GP said the best way to get pregnant is to just have sex every 2-3 days while you're not on your period, but honestly, who has time to do that when they've already got a child?!!?!?!?!

TwittleBee · 02/03/2018 12:08

BadBadBeans PROM =Premature Rupture of Membranes. DS was totally fine, only happend 1 day out of 37 weeks so all he was missing was eyebrows and eyelashes haha. Although we both got sepsis so had to stay in for a while.

You never know our next pregnancies and births could be different. Everyone keeps telling every birth is different. My sister is certainly evidence for that, her first one was a bit of a nightmare and second time round she had the most lovely water birth and delivered baby totally on her own. So fingers crossed it might be like that for us!

havingiraffe · 02/03/2018 15:48

I'm officially out. Tested first thing this morning and was negative, then AF decided to arrive early just so there could be no doubt!

Good luck to the rest of you.

CoconutGal · 02/03/2018 15:59

I think I'm nearing the end of my fertile week. Feeling rough today though, cold, headache & generally uncomfortable. DH is at work so we'll most likely BD tonight. I'm hoping this month is our month. 14th cycle lucky?

Secondtimelucky1980 · 02/03/2018 16:11

Thanks ladies.

I had highs on CB and loads of EWCM that then turned to creamy CM so I thought I’d ovulated but then all of this week I’ve had creamy cm mixed with EWCM so I presume I tried to ovulate, failed, and then did it again later than usual. So frustrating. Anyway, It’s fine. I’m increasingly thinking we should stick to one child as I can’t stand the thought of more MCs.

giraffe I’m so sorry - see you on the April bus! Xx

TwittleBee · 02/03/2018 18:50

havingiraffe sorry AF turned up early and even more sorry it's not your month. Good luck for April.

CoconutGal hope it's your month too! Fingers crossed

TwittleBee · 02/03/2018 18:51

Secondtimelucky urgh frustrating with trying to figure out what's going on for you!

LopeyLopez · 03/03/2018 11:36

Sorry for all those who've just got af....12 dpo for me today and just started spotting, so pretty sure I'm out. Gah. We dtd like troopers this month as well, every day of fertile period even when we were both knackered, and our timing was immaculate (but then, it is most months....☹️😥). See you on the April bus folks....cycle 14 for me....😞

BadBadBeans · 03/03/2018 12:35

Wow Twittle I have never heard of that before! Glad you were both okay - sepsis must have been very scary.

Sorry havingiraffe and Lopey :( Fingers crossed for April for you.

Cariad2017 · 03/03/2018 18:40

Oh no Lopey. I logged on hoping to discover that this had been your month. Fx it’s just too early, but I know how demoralising it can be to get to the end of your cycle and realise that you have all the usual AF symptoms and no pregnancy ones. I shall keep everything crossed that April is your month.

Sorry to hear AF has arrived Having. Sending lots of Wine your way.

1dpo at this end, and we failed to dtd on the day of ov, so I’m not feeling overly hopeful, but hey ho, given that this is Cycle 19 I doubt whether or not we time it properly will make a jot of difference to the outcome.

MynameisJune · 03/03/2018 18:57

So sorry you’re spotting @lopey it sucks so much that we have to deal with this every month. Big hugs, keeping everything crossed that April is your month!

@having sorry for af arriving, big hugs.

@cariad when I conceived DD we dtd only 3 times that month and not on ov day. When I had the bfp last year again we only dtd 4 times. It only takes one swimmer!!

I’m either 8, 9 or 4dpo because I’ve stopped tracking and had EWCM twice this month. So who knows what’s going on!!

Fififiesta · 03/03/2018 19:47

Sorry to hear that some of you are out this cycle.

I'm - I think - 7-9 DPO and feeling very irritable and unreasonable so I'm guessing AF is on her way this cycle too.

I know it's only cycle 2 but think we are in this for the long run Sad

newmama2018 · 03/03/2018 20:04

I'm out😥

What day do people start using opks? I ovulate anywhere between cd4 and cd20 and usually get 2/3 positives so not sure I'm doing It right.

TwittleBee · 03/03/2018 21:18

Lopez and newmama so sorry to hear you're both out. Fingers are crossed April will be your months for BFPs xx

June I find have 2 lots of EWCM most cycles! No clue why. Finally gonna get round to using OPKs this cycle though. Hopefully in all the confusion this cycle turns out to be your lucky one.

Fififiesta hopefully you're not out!

Boboelephant · 03/03/2018 22:24

Hello all, can I join please?

Age: 35
Cycle: who knows? #3 since a MMC which took 9 cycles to get. Ectopic before that. So about 18 months trying for #2.
DS- 2.5
AF (hopefully BFP) due 17th March

Good luck to everyone. Sorry for those who are out.

LopeyLopez · 04/03/2018 08:00

Thanks all for your kind words and support. Hello newbies. Good luck Fifi - thank goodness someone is still in!

This is so frustrating and I feel a great sense of numbness these days even before the onset of af, when it gets to that point where I'm pretty sure I'm out (I.e. yesterday). However, I find the depression does not last as long and I get more positive again sooner. Maybe I'm just getting used to the disappointment....!

So, with positivity in mind, I've decided to keep up all the good things I have been doing since around mid-Jan (no alcohol, no caffeine, much less sugar, loads of fruits and veggies and nuts and seeds, more exercise....) and carry on til summer (3 - 4 more months), and then pay to go private. Then I'll have more time to sort it all out and investigate with the summer holidays being around; at the moment I just can't find time for appointments and so on with work. It will also give the healthy living approach a bit more time to work.....and if it does not, well at least I'll be glowing with health and several kg lighter!!

BadBadBeans · 04/03/2018 10:47

Gosh, there's been a lot of heartbreak for people on this thread already. You are all so positive. Very inspiring. Lopey yep the nice thing about getting fit and healthy is that it gives you a positive outcome no matter what happens with ttc. And I just find that when I eat well and exercise well I feel so GOOD. And full of energy! Keep up the good work!

Welcome Bobo.

Well I'm on roughly cd 25. Starving hungry today but I don't think that hunger is an early sign, is it? I feel totally normal other than that. (Well, other than my stinking cold, anyway.) Funny, I didn't think I'd be itching to test... But of course I am! AF is due around Thu/Fri this week so I'll test if she's not paid me a call by Saturday.
