Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

Sorry you're feeling down too, Steak. I like to think it's just because it's this time of year and that as the season changes to spring and everything starts to come alive, we will too! Hugs x

I'd just like to report to Bubble that I have woken up with a headache, a stuffy nose and a slight stitch in my right side.

Sooz good grief, not a stuffy nose?! I have woken up with weird pinching crampy pains that I’ve never had before. That totally means something right? Even though there is less than 0% chance I could be pregnant haha. How are your boobs? Mine still aren’t sore, thank god.

Also, can a SIS make you have a heavier period? I only ever cramp once af has arrived but been cramping on and off since yesterday and I’m wondering if maybe I’m gearing up for a decent period? Clutching at straws here obviously

No idea, Bubble, but I usually cramp the evening before af. Fx you'll have a good clear out! Grin

Boobs are fine, no pain, all seemingly normal. They weren't sore last time though, and usually in af run-up they feel a bit sore when I take my bra off at night, so I'm taking it as a good thing!

Definitely a shit fest in here at the moment. I hope by the end of this thread all of us are long gone with our bfp.

@bubblegum89 I same as you a year and a half down the line and no idea why it hasn't worked. Everything is fine literally everything and I'm in my 20s and it still doesn't work. Have never had a bfp ever. DH is not talking about it but looks heartbroken. The people who he sits with at work are either expecting or other half are expecting.

I have booked one of these private fertility checks. Today I have a vaginal ultrasound cause I need reassurance post my horrific hycosy. DH is having his sperm checked again as well.. so I didn't even get laid on valentine's. FML. Got hate for those people who get pregnant and making a baby was so romantic.

@highwater There are nice guidelines which tell you what you should be getting. I wish I had read them but they are a bit wordy.

The IVF and fertility treatment varies place to place if and when you need it.

I went to the GP last June and I had two blood test including a day 21 progesterone. DH had to have his sperm checked. I was referred to gyn and had a hycosy in December, I am waiting for my follow up with gyn in march. I will then be referred to fertility services. Where I have been told they repeat most of the blood/sperm tests and a vaginal ultrasound. The waiting list for IVF assesment is a year from initially appointment with fertility services in my area. Prepare yourself for a wait

@catherine I’m sorry you’re feeling rubbish. I was like you, in my 20’s both of us healthy but it just wasn’t happening. Had never had a bfp and was sure i wouldn’t ever have one and then 6 months after I turned 30 bang bfp, only thing we did differently was move house so stopped thinking about it and only dtd 3 times that whole month. It took a lot of years and I know that’s not what you want to hear, but it did happen and I’m sure it will happen for you too.

@bubble hope the hyCoSy helps kick start decent periods for you! And that in turn helps you get a bfp!

Af has pretty much left now so I’m not feeling too bad as is usual for this stage in my cycle 😂

@mynameisjune The GP told us that the chances of a natural conception are low due to the length of time trying and the chance of mc due to age are ever increasing. So to manage our expectations and to take all fertility treatment that is offered. I really hope you are right but at this point I'm not hopeful

@catherine definitely take the fertility treatment, we hid our head in the sand for various reasons and partly I wish we hadn’t due to issues now and not having time on our side anymore. we’d l been trying for 6 years without a single bfp or even late period. The chances of natural conception were tiny. Just try to remember that there is always a chance 🤗

Also waiting for AF to stop to get this cycle on the go properly. Feeling surprisingly positive, my thermometer arrived yesterday so I'm planning on temping this month and also 30 ic opks which I'm also planning to do properly for the first time. Hoping I ovulate extra early or late and I've been missing it so far (unlikely - I know!) but really getting dp more involved this cycle in everything (so he knows why I get so stressed and upset) and also got him some zinc.....fx

@lexie we need a sex schedule due to DH’s working away a lot! Not very romantic or inspiring but needs must. Although this month I’m not doing any temping or charting and I’m just going with the every other day for a good 2 weeks or so if we can manage it. We’ve tried every other way so why not give this way a go! I’m also contemplating an Ava bracelet I think if it doesn’t happen this cycle.

@lexie I convinced DH it was cheaper in the long run that £20-£30 a month on clearblue sticks 😂 I’ve also been taking Maca root since CD1.

Bad news on the fertility front. Husband has loads of mobile sperm however they have antibodies meaning 95% stick to each other. The first test done by the NHS did not test for this. We can keep trying but we have been recommended ivf

Fuck. Just had some spotting. Fucking hell. Why can't I just get some luck for a change? I'm far more upset than I thought I would be. I just wish my body would work how it's supposed to, you know? 4 months ago I was the happiest person in the world and here I am, in tears again. Fuck.

Oh sooz how shit. I’ve just been the toilet and no spotting but got that telltale heavy feeling in my uterus. I’m not too fussed as I knew I couldn’t be pregnant though. I’m so sorry you’re feeling upset :( I hope that it’s your turn again really really soon ❤️

@sooz sorry for the spotting, I know how you feel. 5 months ago I got a bfp on my birthday we were so bloody happy. And now, every month I just feel useless because my body won’t do what so many women’s does easily.

It will be the most expensive icis £6500 a go, we should be able to get some NHS treatment. My husband looked so sad he had to go back to work after our appointment. Just so upset

2 baby bombs this evening. One not too bad, she already told me she was pregnant a while back before announcing on Facebook today. It’s her fourth baby but she was ttc for 4 years with no luck then got pregnant the cycle after having a HyCoSy. The second is a girl who got pregnant after only being with her boyfriend for a month and he hadn’t even met her other kids yet...
