Thread five!

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

@cariad thank you! It’s stoll staying away for now. I was going to test on Tuesday but I might wait. Last time I had the MC it was CD35 so I might wait until after then. That’s if I make it that far.

Cariad2017 · 11/03/2018 14:06

I shall keep everything crossed for you Mynameis. What CD are you on now? Xxx

Chooklass · 11/03/2018 14:40

Fingers crossed for you @MynameisJune ! X

MynameisJune · 11/03/2018 14:44

@cariad I’m CD28 now, af hasn’t been this late since I started taking AC and it pushed ovulation back. When left to its own devices. 25/26 day cycle is usually what happens. But my af has been known to throw the odd random curveball of a long cycle for no reason. So after the bfn’s the other day I am trying to not be overly hopeful!

@chook thank you. The only positive is the longer af stays away the more my FW moves and it might span a weekend when DH is Home to give us a small chance next cycle.

Hopeislost · 11/03/2018 17:59

Congratulations @minime2017 !

DoAsDreamersDo · 12/03/2018 09:16

Well I hit a bit of a low yesterday - crying in the kitchen, hiding, at my Mum's because my Mum gave my heavily pregnant sister a family heirloom and I was feeling a bit rubbish about it being Mother's Day anyway. Anyway, hopefully today will be a bit better! Even though we're not 'trying' this cycle, I can tell that I'm gearing up for FW.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/03/2018 09:54

@DoAsDreamersDo. Flowers I'm sorry you were sad x x

I had a shitty day yesterday too. My EDD is this Sunday and I am supposed to be a Godparent and my nieces christening but I've got myself so worked up by the looming birth date and crappy fertility test results that I told my DH that I couldn't go to the christening. DH told his mum (my MIL) and she couldn't wait to get on the phone and tell SIL before I'd spoken to her. So it made it look like I'd decided on a whim that I wasn't going and hadn't bothered to tell her. I'm so pissed at MIL, she did it on purpose.

I phoned my GP surgery this morning to clarify what my pelvic scan had actually shown and it's been sent back to clinical admin for "further action". What that means, I don't know.

Si1ver · 12/03/2018 12:00

@LookingAtTheStars89 and @DoAsDreamersDo I'm sorry things have been so awful for you both.

Yesterday was pissing awful, I spent quite a lot of it crying on the sofa.

I've just started FW and my husband has buggered off snowboarding for week. I'm due to ovulate the day he comes home.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/03/2018 16:36

@Si1ver. Thanks x x

I have officially been diagnosed with PCOS. They could see a pearl string of follicles on both ovaries, which were both enlarged. So with my ovaries and DH's small soldiers being as they are, I think I may be with you ladies for a while yet!!

FairyAnn · 12/03/2018 17:24

Hey all, sorry to hear it's a particularly rough time for some of you.

I had my blood tests today; FSH, LH, bone profile, etc.... Just got to wait now.

MynameisJune · 12/03/2018 17:31

@looking sorry for the diagnosis, can’t be easy to hear. Be kind to yourself x

SoozC · 12/03/2018 17:41

Sorry for the diagnosis, Looking. Are there things they can do to help? Like clomid?

Chooklass · 12/03/2018 18:03

Sorry about your news @LookingAtTheStars89 . Just 5 days since my pcos diagnosis too. I've been doing lots of reading and have started a low GI/ generally healthier diet today to see if that helps. My DP also has poor SA results. Xx

DoAsDreamersDo · 12/03/2018 18:47

Looking sorry about your news.

Sorry that you also had a shit day yesterday Si1ver

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/03/2018 18:54

@Chooklass. We are like ttc twins! Confused lol. All joking aside, I'm sorry to hear that x Having fertility on both sides is like being kicked twice as hard! I'm giving myself a "let me absorb it" night and I'm going to have a bar of chocolate but then I mean business! I'm tempted to ask my GP if he would consider prescribing Orlistat for a little while to help me shift some weight. Are they doing anything with you?

@SoozC. I'm having my day 21 blood taken again Thursday so they are going to wait for that to come back first I think.

@MynameisJune. Yeah not great to hear but I've always had my suspicions - I have to pluck my chest hair Blush lol. I'm mortified just typing that!

@FairyAnn. Good luck! X X

You ladies are so lovely x

LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/03/2018 18:55

@DoAsDreamersDo. Thanks x x

WonkyDonk87 · 12/03/2018 19:15

Sorry about the diagnosis @LookingAtTheStars89 did they say anything about the next step or was it just diagnosis and pushed out the door?
@Si1ver tearful few days here too. Double babybomb (one unplanned) and an ikea construction fail set me off.

Si1ver · 12/03/2018 19:22

I've just sent all our data off to the IVF clinic. I'm bloody terrified.

And also shortly about to be terribly skint.

SoozC · 12/03/2018 19:53

Wow, Si1ver, so not long to go until your first round? Sorry you're terrified, although I can understand why. Let us know how you get on x

Chook, sorry, I must have missed your diagnosis announcement. How are you feeling about it? Great to hear you're making some changes that could help x

Dreamers, sorry yesterday was crap. I just ignored it, although my lovely nurse/fellow mc-er cousin sent me a "Happy Mothers Day" text. She gets it that I consider myself a mum even if I never made it past week 7. I hope you're feeling better today and get a renewed sense of hope for the upcoming fw x

I am roughly somewhere around 5-8 dpo. Had some cm, twinges and aches but not tracking them, just forging on ahead with life, as I've no idea when to expect af. I always get symptoms of some kind and they always end up being progesterone-related. I'm still harbouring some positivity though, which could be down to the maca or the acupuncture or my lovely new fertility bracelet (still doing the hippie thing!) or, most likely, for no reason at all. But I like it, I like not analysing everything.

Who knows, maybe this is what comes after 24 cycles?

WonkyDonk87 · 12/03/2018 20:10

Very restrained of you @SoozC !
I've been symptom spotting like a crazed woman (googling until the wee hours) and I think I'm only about 9dpo. Was thinking of you and your posts whilst doing it 😁

SoozC · 12/03/2018 20:19

Maybe you need a rose quartz and moonstone fertility bracelet, Wonky... Come join me on the hippie side...

OP posts:
WonkyDonk87 · 12/03/2018 20:22

Booked in for acupuncture next month.... might pop out and hug a tree whilst I'm waiting.... 😉

SoozC · 12/03/2018 20:26

Ooh, good idea, I haven't tried tree hugging yet...

OP posts:
LookingAtTheStars89 · 12/03/2018 20:44

@WonkyDonk87. I'm halfway in and halfway out of the door at the minute! Waiting for day 21 bloods on Thursday.

@Si1ver. What kind of data do you have to send in?

Bubblegum89 · 12/03/2018 20:49

Sorry to hear that looking :(

Ooh good luck si1ver scary (but exciting) times!
