Will do. I quickly googled after posting and website solely about magnesium was the top site. A quick look and there seemed to be lots of connections with low magnesium / MC and birth defects however it also seemed to relate to diabetes too.

Isn't it one of the vitamins us as a nation are quite often low in though?

I will update once I have spoken to GP on Thursday.

peachesarenom · 23/01/2018 13:41

Just to clarify, I have not yet had my fully negative test post MC. I was just embracing the crazy and saying maybe as it had been 19 days by Friday and HCG was still 10 which I believe is basically zero, perhaps there is a tiny hope I could be preggers. I expected everyone just to say don't be so stupid lol! I love you guys!

Cookiefiend I love your use of befuddled! Me too!

DaisyMay25 on friday at thr epu. I managed to get pee on my leggings! I had to go without them for the rest of the day!

DaisyMay25 · 23/01/2018 13:44

@peachesarenom oh god that made me chuckle!
Are you having bloods done again soon to see what they're at?

peachesarenom · 23/01/2018 13:44

gingerbreadmam oh! I didn't know about magnesium! I take the 5mg folic acid too and inofolic and metformin for pcos

gingerbreadmam · 23/01/2018 13:44

Another quick Google found that you can't get too much magnesium from your diet but if you take supplements too these should not exceed 350mg if under 31 years of age and 360 if over 31 years of age.

Pregnacare has 150mg so I would guess it is safe to take a 200mg supplement in addition to this.

peachesarenom · 23/01/2018 13:46

DaisyMay25 no, they just said it's basically zero so the mc is defo over, feel free to try again, no need to wait for period.

di626 · 23/01/2018 14:06

Where can you get 5mg folic acid ladies?

peachesarenom · 23/01/2018 14:34

My midwife told me to ask my GP to prescribe it due to my high BMI

Boboelephant · 23/01/2018 14:53

@MrsMac1489 you are so right!! Beautiful unpredictable bodies!
@gingerbreadmam I've just been taking folic acid and vitamin d. Will be interested to hear what the doc says though!! @di626 I just bought folic acid tablets from Morrisons.
@peachesarenom haha I was embracing the crazy with you! Theres always hope!
I am being a total nut job. I KNOW i go away tomorrow. I KNOW I'll probably ovulate in 10 days. But I am continually checking for EWCM in my vain hope we can catch an egg before tomorrow morning because I'll ovulate early! (Sidebar- surprise surprise there is no EWCM!!) 😣

HoldTightPretendItsAPlan · 23/01/2018 15:00

I'm taking folic acid and vitamin D. I started the vit d before my first MC and I do feel less tired with them so it's a win win. I'm also trying Angus castus.

gingerbreadmam · 23/01/2018 15:49

Vitamin d stops my coldsores. Miracle cure! Always wondered why I never had any when pregnant.

5mg folic acid needs to be prescribed and it's usually based on BMI however it's worth asking because you have MC before.

LookingAtTheStars89 · 23/01/2018 15:58

@gingerbreadmam. Can you ask for 5mg before you become pregnant? I'm off to the doctors tonight as Im on cd39 and bfn but feeling utterly pants!

Boboelephant · 23/01/2018 16:36

Ah I missed the 5mg part. What's the benefit of it over normal folic acid?

Eastend2015 · 23/01/2018 17:24

Also on 5mg of folic acid as am epileptic, even though i’m not on medication. The GP has to prescribe it and it makes me nauseous which isn’t helpful when symptom spotting!

gingerbreadmam · 23/01/2018 17:27

Yes I was advised to take it 3 months before TTC so can't see any harm.

I think it's just a precaution tbh. As my DM is forever telling me there was never none of that in their day Grin

peachesarenom · 23/01/2018 17:34

I asked my colleague if I could be preggers and she said no testing till march, 'I can't go through another friday!' I can't either tbh!

MrsMac1489 · 23/01/2018 17:57

Any vitamins or anything you take that your body doesn't need is just exits your body as expensive wee 🤣. As long as it's nothing that you shouldn't take like vitamin A you can take as many preggo safe vitamins as you want.

Patienceofatoddler · 24/01/2018 09:09

Mix of emotions today - AF has turned up 26 days after miscarriage.

Part of me is upset / disappointed but part of me is relieved my body at least seems to be in abit of a cycle so going forward the next few weeks we at least know roughly what is happening.

Big glass of wine tonight after work I think.

PassTheAfterEights · 24/01/2018 10:09

Just wanted to say hello, rather than lurk - early MC this month on second cycle TTC #1 and keen to crack on again. Couple of ladies on the Sept 18 ante-natal thread conceived +2 weeks post MC, trying to think positive but after this experience will not be letting myself get excited quite so early if we're lucky again.

Fx for sticky BFP's all round.

Hollymchollyface · 24/01/2018 13:45

@MrsMac1489, my oh and I had a lot of arguments post my 1st mc as.he didn't want to ttc again. Its hard, I don't know what to advise because I don't think we dealt with it very well. I struggled with the emotional side after my mc which was hard to explain to him and it just made me really angry all the time, which obviously put him off ttc. He wanted us to be in a good place first, but I knew that all I needed was to get on it again and get pregnant as thats all I wanted.

DaisyMay25 · 24/01/2018 14:34

DaisyMay25 · 24/01/2018 15:08

@Patienceofatoddler enjoy the wine! Perhaps a bath too?

I know what you mean, i felt like it was the final end to the pregnancy for me. At least now you can start trying again Smile

peachesarenom · 24/01/2018 17:24

Patienceofatoddler I see what you mean. I was thinking about how I'll feel when AF turns up and I think the same as you. I'd love to know roughly what is going on!

peachesarenom · 24/01/2018 17:25

Welcome PassTheAfterEights

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 25/01/2018 09:49

Right, I'm going to take another test, and then one every few days, and one day it'll be fucking negative! Angry Plan!
