@emmasc I’m sorry I have no advice at all. I just didn’t want to read and not respond. I had my first mc in Dec 14 and it took 4 months to drop on again. I had a mmc in Aug 15 and it took me 8 months to conceive my little girl who is now 14 months. Like you I had the pill to miscarry at home. It was so traumatic, and I really suffered a lot after. I think it did mess with my body. I just had another mc this Dec (that one wasn’t planned but loosing has made me realise I do want another). I’m 35 in April so I know that I should get my skates on really.
The only successfully pregnancy (DD) we both had great diets, I researched sperm boosting foods I fed him up on salmon, walnuts and spinach. He also was taking wellman tablets. He has started taking these again in preparation to try again. Not sure if all this helped us to have a healthy pregnancy but I don’t want to take any chances

EmmaSC · 07/02/2018 14:10

What is it with miscarriages?! I know someone who had all three of her babies between 41 and 45 and no miscarriages! Yet, here we are! Unfortunately my DH also baulked at taking the Wellman supplements and dumped them at the back of the bench. Sigh.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 07/02/2018 14:15

@Primrose16 So AF should be due tomorrow or Friday. Idk I kind of decided to just take one for whatever reason

HoldTightPretendItsAPlan · 07/02/2018 14:44

UnicornsandRainbows1 I'm so happy for you!

Eastend2015 · 07/02/2018 15:32

Hi all- not been on the thread much over the last few weeks as trying to take my mind off the 2ww. Congratulations unicorns amazing news! I have my own news to share as also had a bfp this morning. I can’t believe it- the timing is just hilarious as we had our meeting at the recurrent miscarriage clinic this morning and as I’m 10dpo I thought i’d better check. I also had a massive stress out at DH a few weeks ago on O day and he said if TTC was going to drive me crazy then we shouldn’t try for a bit. Hence only DTD a couple of times before ovulation and not since, so my head is all over the place. Anyway clinic have just prescribed baby aspirin and taken blood to look at thyroid then sent me on my way. Apparently as I had 2 losses, then DS then another loss that isn’t sufficient evidence for clexane but if I could get it privately then it wouldn’t do any harm. Arghh so confused! Any experience anyone? Sorry for the long post!!

Primrose16 · 07/02/2018 15:37

@EmmaSC I know. It’s bloody horrible how things work out. I have several friends who fall pregnant and that’s it. Actually after our second my hubby had to explain quite graphically our mmc to his male friends in the pub that just said ‘ah well just try again’ they couldnt understand- after all they had healthy pregnancies! Oh dear my hubby decided himself that he was going to start taking them again. He already had a almost full pack in the cupboard.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 07/02/2018 15:38

@Eastend2015 Oooh congratulations

peachesarenom · 07/02/2018 15:44

Yay! Eastend2015!!! I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy! 🌈

Primrose16 · 07/02/2018 15:55

Congratulations @Eastend2015 what a lucky thread today. Sorry can’t help- no experience.
So you had 2 miscarriages, baby then another? That’s same as me. I have already told myself that if I’m lucky to get pregnant again I’m sitting in that GP and refusing to move until I get help as I can’t do it again (I know others have gone through more than me).

Eastend2015 · 07/02/2018 15:58

Thanks ladies, I’m not feeling super positive at the moment tbh! Primrose speak to your GP about the possibility of further tests. Ours was very supportive.

keepinghopeful · 07/02/2018 16:55

Aw brilliant @Eastend2015 congrats 😁😁

Chattette1 · 07/02/2018 17:01

Hi everyone and sorry you all have to be here. Can I join you? TTC#1 after two losses. One MMC a blighted ovum (awful term) discovered at 11+4 and a natural mc at 5 weeks last cycle.

We have been to see a specialist and until we get bloods done she has prescribed me baby aspirin and progesterone suppositories from ovulation onwards so at least I feel like we are doing something different. DH is on Wellman supplements and she's recommended I take high dose folic acid, COQ10 and omega 3 so I'm doing all that!

I'm scared about this whole process now so it helps to be able to talk to people who understand. Good luck to all of you.

Flameredbus · 07/02/2018 17:21

Hi Chattette i am suspected to mc at 4+4 and i too had a blighted ovum before christmas so this will be my second mc. I am interested to know how did you get to speak to a specialist? These miscarriages are back to back after two years of trying :-(

Chattette1 · 07/02/2018 18:18

Hi flameredbus I'm sorry for your losses Sad I went to my GP and she ran some basic blood tests but I was so anxious I decided to pay to see a private consultant. The appointment was £200 at the CRGH in London and she actually prescribed more detailed blood tests for myself and DH to be carried out on the NHS, plus I got the prescriptions for baby aspirin, high dose folic acid and progesterone, so it hasn't cost too much (at this stage).

ek78 · 07/02/2018 18:41

Loads to catch up on here but just checking in to say what brilliant news @unicorns and @eastend15!

Flatwhite32 · 07/02/2018 18:42

@UnicornsandRainbows1 this has made my day! SO pleased for you! Xx

Flameredbus · 07/02/2018 19:13

Thanks chattette i have more hcg tests tomorrow (to confirm what we already suspect) so i will ask more at the epu. Was it a fertility consultant you saw?

Mimilicious013 · 07/02/2018 19:13

congratulations @eastend

SoozC · 07/02/2018 19:16

Congrats Unicorns!!!

Boboelephant · 07/02/2018 20:06

Hi all! I haven't really commented in the past two weeks as ive been on my enforced month off. (Been on holiday for 2.5 weeks without DH over fw)
Just been having a little read though. Congratulations @UnicornsandRainbows1 and @Eastend2015!!!! So glad it's worked out for you after our shitty December chats! Fingers crossed for easy sticky pregnancies for you both.
I'm expecting AF at some point in the next 2 to 6 days. Feel like I ovulated twice this month and been having horrendous cramps for the past day so no idea where my cycle is at! Looking forward to getting back on the wagon and hoping for a bfp soon!!
Welcome to all the newbies and I'm so sorry for all your losses.

Mimilicious013 · 07/02/2018 20:11

hope you enjoyed your forced time out @bobo. welcome back and good luck ((maybe a sneaky bfp)) í½í¸

HidCat · 07/02/2018 22:14

Hi everyone, just joining Mumsnet after finding out our Baby didn't make it at our 12 week scan 2 weeks ago. I've not had any bleeding yet, just spotting but doc said it's possible that's all I'll get so quietly waiting for bfn / af. HCG levels still up at around 800 though so may take a while.
Starting to get myself back in the mindset for TTC so looking for any tips to get going.
So pleased to see people's bfp's on here too. Nice to have positive news.

Cakelaur · 07/02/2018 22:23

Gosh so much to catch up on!!

@keepinghopeful I track bbt. I love it. Keeps me calm in as I know what's happening. More than happy to take a look at your chart if and you like.
@Primrose16 and @SoozC hopefully it's a good nausea. Fingers crossed!
@UnicornsandRainbows1 massive congrats!!! Seriously amazing news!! Totally gives me hope. It took a couple of weeks for me to get BFN hoping to get my bfp aswell this month.
@Llondbol I thought my negative was never gonna come. Took me two weeks exactly from erpc operation to get BFN. Then exactly a week later it seems that I've ovulated (according to bbt)
@EmmaSC hi and welcome. Sorry you're here. The best advice I can give you is try bbt. It will tell you if you're defo ovulating and try a book called 'taking charge of your fertility' by Toni weschler. Massively calmed my crazy mind. I'm mid 30's but defo Worth a read.
@Eastend2015 amazing news!! Congratulations!!! 2 bfps in one day!! It's like xmas!!

Cakelaur · 07/02/2018 22:25

@Chattette1 I think my issue is low progesterone. This has me tempted to go for these tests. I had spotting before af and irratic temps which made me think this. And then when I finally got my bfp, I had an mmc at 8.5 weeks.
Do they test once pregnant again? Or before bfp?

Primrose16 · 07/02/2018 22:25

@hidcat so sorry for your loss and welcome. I’m sure you will get some good advice along the way. I mmc in August 15, baby was 8.3 and was discovered at 9 weeks. I tried to wait to miscarry naturally but after a week I couldn’t stand the worry of it just happening. So I decided to go for medical management, a tablet to get my womb to contract and expell my baby. I bled very heavily for 3 days and a normal period for a further 4ish.
Sorry if I’m already telling you something that you already know, but I didn’t have a clue and I would have appreciated someone telling me what was going to happen. Again sorry for you loss. It’s truly heartbreaking
