Argh I’m getting so fed up. I said I wouldn’t symptom spot since I’m not actually trying but argh!!!! Why are period and pregnancy symptoms same!!!
Still feeling queasy on and off, nipples a wee bit sensitive but feeling achy- which worsens at night

peachesarenom · 07/02/2018 22:33

Cakelaur what do you use to actually chart your bbt? Is it an app? I'd like to start. I understand that you have to do it as soon as you wake up but is it true you can't even sit up?

Cakelaur · 07/02/2018 22:40

@peachesarenom I use kindara (which is free and I love this community on there) and fertility friend (which is about £30 annually- but this tells you ovulation and stuff) and then I got a cheap bbt thermometer off amazon for about £6. Take my temp every morning around the same time as soon as I wake up. My temp doesn't vary within a couple of hours some people it makes a massive difference.
Basic rules.... temps are low before ovulation. Then raised after ovulation. Once you have 3 temps above the previous 6 then it's confirmed ovulation. Don't look too much at each temp (I used to worry about fluctuations) look at the overall pattern. Between ovulation and af is called luteal phase (LP) should be between 10-14 days.
Once you have 18 days raised temps = bfp but you can test from 10 days post ovulation (dpo)

Hopefully that explains it. Sorry if I over analysed. Defo Worth a go. And worth reading the book.

Chattette1 · 07/02/2018 22:45

@Cakelaur I was prescribed progesterone before any test results as the consultant said it can't hurt and she was of the belief that it could be beneficial to women who have had losses. I think it was more of a precaution and a case of doing something whilst waiting for test results (which I won't have for a few weeks). I've been told to contact consultant when either AF shows up or I get a BFP at the end of this cycle and she is going to devise a plan going forward based in blood test results.

peachesarenom · 07/02/2018 22:50

Thanks Cakelaur I'm defo gonna give it a go.

Cookiefiend · 07/02/2018 23:04

WWWOOOOOHHHOOOOO!

Came in here for an update on @unicornsandrainbows and I'm so delighted by your news and @eastend2015 I hope it all goes well for you both.

My last period was randomly a week late, so in theory AF is due a week in Sunday. But if my body has gotten back to a 28/29 day cycle AF will be due this Sunday (which is also 14 DPO as I used OPKs this month). So I have no idea what to expect now.

@hidcat- I suspect you will have some heavier bleeding, sorry. I hope it is as easy as possible for you though.

Cakelaur · 07/02/2018 23:22

@Chattette1 wow Defo worth looking into it! Thanks
@peachesarenom good luck with it. Let me know how you get on. X

Hi everyone. Can I join?
I’ve been ttc since last summer and got my BFP 15dpo last month on cycle 8. Unfortunately I miscarried at five weeks.
My pregnancy tests went negative quickly and we have just carried on dtd as normal this month but I decided to not do any opks. Until I got cd14 and decided to do one just to check. It was positive. And then positive for the next two days too. Not sure how long it was positive before that. It’s negative now. Not sure if we dtd close enough to ovulation for it to work (because I’m not entirely sure when I ovulated.)
I’m so confused with it all and been through a rollercoaster of emotions really. I’m determined not to do a pregnancy test until I’m a week late in future because I can’t bear to see a bfp turning to bfn again.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 07/02/2018 23:53

@Flatwhite was it you who bought the progesterone cream? where did you buy it? Smile

I think it's very slowly dawning on me (did another ic with super pale urine) oh the things we share!

I am fucking terrified beyond words

Hortonlovesahoo · 08/02/2018 05:33

@peachesarenom : I use the Ovia fertility app to track fertility and what’s going on. It’s free and pretty good. I measure within 2-3 mins of waking whilst I’m still in bed and I’ve got a cheap thermometer that my daughter used to have. It is useful for tracking your bbt.

@unicornsandrainbows: take everything one day at a time and relax :) I really hope this one sticks!

weasledee · 08/02/2018 06:43

Amazing news unicorn!!! Congratulations :) x

dulwichdays · 08/02/2018 07:06

What a day yesterday was for positive news on this thread. Long may it continue!

Took a pregnancy test this morning, 2 weeks after my D&C

dulwichdays · 08/02/2018 07:10

Whoops, didn’t finish what I wanted to say. Got a bfn which is quite bitter sweet, but at least indicates that I’m on my way to getting my body back to normal.

@Cakelaur - I’ve been temping since my D&C and it’s all over the place. I thought I ovulated 2 days ago, but bbt has dropped rather than risen...?! I only started temping the month I got pregnant so I don’t really have any trends to go off. The general trend is downwards which I can only assume is positive

PumpkinPatch000 · 08/02/2018 07:35

Hi @Kingy2910 I know! I thought going to work would be good to take my mind off things and I only had 1 day of heavy bleeding that was on the weekend so struggled through. I had to ring the hospital yesterday though cos the pains have got worse and they signed me off. Said I should be resting.

How are you feeling? It might not be too bad physically, from what i've seen it varies a lot person to person. x

Flatwhite32 · 08/02/2018 07:38

It was me @UnicornsandRainbows1 and I'm still applying a tiny amount each day! I bought it here:

https://uk.store.wellsprings-serenity.com/?utmmedium=email&utmm_source=csc

It says it'll last 2 months. I got mine in October and still have loads left, but I'm just applying a tiny amount each day.

SO pleased for you! X

PumpkinPatch000 · 08/02/2018 07:39

It's so good to come on here and see some positive news!

Congratulations @unicornsandrainbows and @eastend2015 so pleased for you. Wishing you lots of luck and love.

I randomly decided to do a test this morning and got BFN. It's so weird how desperate we were for BFP's and now so happy to see BFN.

It's week today since all this started... feeling emotional today.

Kingy2910 · 08/02/2018 07:53

Morning all....congratulations to all with happy news I'm really pleased for you all.

@pumpkinpatch000 I'm actually doing ok. I've worked from home this week as it's been our busy time and it's helped take my mind of things. I'm not sure what to expect from my body now. I spend my time waiting for all the pain to start but not sure if it's going to happen or not. I've had a few quite heavy bleeds Tuesday night Wednesday morning. Saw some grey stuff and Wednesday morning something fell out (sorry TMI) but can't be sure that was anything or nothing as I haven't been in pain yet. I'm not back at hospital until Wednesday so it's more of a waiting game at the minute.

I must say it hasn't put me off trying again and if it happens it happens but as I've got a Dd I feel very lucky already.

Take it easy pumpkin but can I say just how nice given our circumstances I feel I'm not going through this alone.

Thank you to all you wonderful ladies who share these not so nice experiences and create these forums. You are all very special to me even just by nicknames.

Hope all your little blobs (that's what I called mine) stuck this time

Xxxx

Cakelaur · 08/02/2018 08:08

@dulwichdays if it helps I've attached my chart. I've only just ovulated. Had positive opks and hpts for ages. Then everything went negative a week ago (2 weeks after the op) and then I randomly had a temp spike with no opk warning! Haha. Luckily we just DTD every other day. So I'm hoping we caught the egg either way.
We decided last night that we're just gonna DTD every other night until I get a bfp. Cos I have idea what my bodies doing. Just hope it doesn't take 6 months cos I think We'll be KNACKERED by then!!! Haha

@Flatwhite32 oooh! I'm convinced mine is a progesterone issue. Do you just apply if after ovulation or just all the time? Or just during pregnancy?

@PumpkinPatch000 It is a strange one. I got my bfn last week and I was desperate for it. Now I'm waiting for my bfp with everything crossed at 3dpo... it's gonna be a LONG TWW!!

DaisyMay25 · 08/02/2018 12:13

Hi Ladies, just wondering if anyone can offer me some advice
Been a while since I posted my story but MC in September (suspected ectopic)
Exactly four weeks later AF, and the two after we're regular five or take a day but they were the same as they were before MC (amount of blood and cramps)
Now I didn't have one in January, I had a few red spots when I wiped for a day and then four days of a little brown spotting, this started two days before AF was due
This month AF should be due on Saturday and two days ago I had a single spotting of pink blood, since then very little brown spotting.
Last time the nurse said it's normal for up to six months after MC but AF was normal straight after.
I'm just upset really, my body doesn't feel normal, I've had sore breasts since ovulation, nausea and been exhausted.
I'm not sure they going to take my concerns seriously but I'm just worried I'm not ovulating now and I'm not sure what to do
Any advice is very much appreciated
