Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

@Bubblegum89 I get you, it's so annoying that it's all like clockwork until you want it to be and then it goes all fucking weird.
I don't know anything about why a period would just stop. Wish I did so I could give you an answer.

LimpLettice · 25/01/2018 15:48

I think it was a previous incarnation of this thread but I remember someone saying how rage inducing it is when af turns up straight afetr a frer - it is literally like pissing on tenners. Sorry Steak.

Bubblegum don't hate me but are you sure? I don't think I have ever heard of half a days period without it being IB. Although I have had some random shot periods this year - not that short but 2 days instead of 5 and only a few hours of heavy instead of my usual 2 days. Sometimes I think they are just bloody abnormal.

Steaksauce · 25/01/2018 15:52

@LimpLettice it's exactly like that!

I've just misery eaten half a box of orange matchmakers so now I'm fat and barren instead of just barren.

And I feel sick in addition to my cramps.
Nice one Steak twatHmm

LexieJean · 25/01/2018 15:55

@bubble I have no helpful answer! Mine did reduce to 1 day of very very light bleed, for about 4/5 months before we were TTC. GP sent me for internal US but without any results. I was then told it was probably just my body altering post being on the pill. Even though I’d come off the pill nearly 2 years before! When I told the acupuncturist she was concerned and wants more blood for me! Hence my change in diet. She also attributed the light bleeding to my bad eating habits as a teenager (I basically only ate sunflower seeds and instant coffee- girls school eating disorders 🙄) in the last 8 months or so I have had slightly heavier periods but still very light and only 2-3 days at most. It’s frustrating that no one has any suggestions when this is driving you mad! Did you speak to the fertility/gynae consultant about it? Stay away from dr google!

Thanks ladies. My first thought/hope was IB but honestly, I think it was too heavy to be. IB is just spotting isn’t it? Also the blood was dark red as opposed to pink or bright red plus I had cramps and a couple of tiny clots. And my boobs have stopped being sore as well. I did have some weird pink/brown cm yesterday but nothing between that time and nothing today again. I’m just baffled lol I’ve been off contraception for 15 months now, is it possible it could still be affecting me? I’m worried it’s a bad sign of whatever is going on in there.

New and Limp huge congratulations to you both. I'm so pleased for you.

Bubble poas please, just rule it out.

LimpLettice · 25/01/2018 16:14

Do test, Bubblegum. My mum had full bleeds for 2/3 days all the way through 3 pregnancies, and while I am not doing that 'my friend had that' thing, I have read enought to know it can actually be quite heavy. I have also remembered a close friend having a dreadful bleed for a day before bfp with her youngest. As Milk says, at least then you can put it down to hormonal weirds and move on.

Steak not fat, just insulated. That is my excuse :)

I don’t know @bubblegum. I do think they can just randomly start and stop, but you have had a long gap following it starting! Where are you at in the consultations etc process, can you ask at any upcoming appointments? It seems that anything weird to do with periods can either mean something, or not. Which is not helpful when trying to get answers.

LexieJean · 25/01/2018 16:44

15 months is not that long off contraception @bubble It could still be your body trying to work out what it’s natural rhythm is. Were you on it for a long time? That can somethimes make a difference too- I didn’t have a break for about 12 years. But each body is different too which I know doesn’t answer you!

Bubblegum89 · 25/01/2018 16:48

I feel as far from pregnant as I possibly can lol BUT I may poas in the morning just to rule it out completely. I’ve thrown the towel in now where my body is concerned. I’m never ever going to understand it. Ever.

Okay so I don’t have a preggo test so I used an opk. It’s negative as I expected but is this a bit odd? I’m CD5 today so not expecting to be anywhere near ovulation for at least another week if not more. But this is the kind of opk result I get when I’m about 3 days off ov’ing. Does that mean that I could be about to ov this early? I only ever start getting lines like this that aren’t squinters at around CD11 (assuming my cycle isn’t being a dick and I ov on time on CD14) I can’t dtd this month anyway because my HyCoSy appointment is in two weeks so it doesn’t really matter if I ov super early and miss it, but then it means my period will come early and I don’t want it to cross over when I’m going to my appointment as they won’t do it if I’m on my period. I’m confused. My body is a nightmare. Ttc is a nightmare. Could it be something to do with like, leftover hormones or something? I’ll be so annoyed if af shows up when my HyCoSy is due...

Bubble - I would take a hpt tomorrow, as that opk looks positive to me (admittedly not day of ov positive but very close to it)...

Bubblegum89 · 25/01/2018 21:19

cariad my positive opks are usually very dark like these but the opk I just did is what they look like the day before I get a dark positive. I’ll get barely any line for the first couple of days of FW then I get one like that last opk and then I get these dark ones for two days then they go back to barely any line. What is going on?!?! I’m not going to bother googling because google seems to have a one track mind lol

There's always some LH in system isn't there? It doesn't mean you'll ov early. Try not to worry. Keep doing opks if it helps but I know since ttc I've seen plenty of people with opks like this at odd times in their cycle. I haven't, but then I don't test when I'm not around fw.

I know it's confusing and frustrating. x

Bubblegum89 · 25/01/2018 22:06

Yeah you always have some LH in your system. I used to start doing opks on CD7 and would get no second line until about CD9 where it would be a squinter but there. Then it would look like the opk I took tonight at maybe CD11. But I’ve never done an opk this early before so I have no idea if it’s normal for me, I suppose it could be. I’m guessing LH levels can fluctuate even way before it surges? I might take another one tomorrow to stop me worrying. I’m sure it will go back to no second line. Really don’t want to have to rebook this appointment as much as I don’t really want a catheter shoved up into my cervix and then be ballooned up with dye lol

MynameisJune · 25/01/2018 22:56

Can you get a hpt tomorrow @bubble, a positive opk as a pregnancy test really isn’t going to give you an answer either way. You might be gearing up to OV early, it could just be a LH surge or you could be pregnant!

WonkyDonk87 · 25/01/2018 23:05

Argh!!!! Can someone block me from the conception area? Keep looking at "line eyes please" because it's fun and i'm a masochist. Why oh why do I do it???

"Is this what I think it is???" YES. IT'S AS CLEAR AS DAY YOU BERK!!! AngryGrinGrinGrin

WonkyDonk87 · 25/01/2018 23:10

*my face that is - not theirs. They deserve happiness and congratulations. I'm just being a miserable jealous old witch Wink

LimpLettice · 26/01/2018 11:13

Did you do another opk, Bubblegum (invested)

All been there Wonky. And the lovely shining beacon ones with the 'duh, is this a bfp' are the WORST.

@milk it’s easily fixed with thyroid medication if that’s what they suggest. Thyroid function can have quite an impact on fertility so it’s good that it’s been picked up.

I did Limp it’s a teeny bit darker than yesterday’s (I think anyway) was run off my feet all day so didn’t get a chance to pick up a HPT but I don’t know if I’ll bother. If I was preggo and it was showing up on an opk, the line would surely be positive, I don’t think the second line is dark enough. I’m just going to keep doing opks for the next few days to put my mind at rest that they’re not getting any darker so means I can’t be near my surge quite yet
