Thread numero four-o.

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement.

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

And most importantly...

  • Thou shall not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if they do so.

Welcome and welcome. We’re all very nice and friendly despite being horrible bitter old cows ☺️

Thankyou all for your replies.
Gosh collecting wee every day! I suppose freezing it would make a nice change from pointlessly shoving bits of plastic in it.... Grin
Think I might as for a referral. If there is a waiting list I might as well get on it

Bubblegum89 · 15/01/2018 19:44

Ugh my boobs are in agony. They don’t normally hurt this much. My poor nips are sore too. Anyone got any tips that can help? Wearing a sports bra isn’t even helping :(

Good luck tomorrow @bubble. I hear you about finding it easier to deal with if there is a specific problem. I’ve had the HSG so waiting for meeting with consultant following all tests. I initially asked for the Lapopscopy after reading Robert Winstons book but was flat out refused. Bloods, US and HSG first.
More time passes without a hint of +tive 😫

WonkyDonk87 · 15/01/2018 20:08

@Bubblegum89 No bra! And a loose top.

Bubblegum89 · 15/01/2018 20:20

That’s the problem with going with the NHS Lexie there’s a specific order and they won’t let you change it.

wonky that doesn’t help either :( I’m okay when I sit down but soon as I stand up/walk they’re so sore. They hurt when I lie down as well, I might just sleep sitting up lol

I would go for a massive comfy granny bra - sports bra is going to irritate the nips even more in my experience

Bubblegum89 · 15/01/2018 20:49

A cotton one? My sports bra is cotton (Calvin Klein one cause I’m fancy haha) I might invest in a granny bra though, it’s more the support that I need. If my boobs move even a millimetre, they’re so so sore. I need them to be fastened right in like they’re in a straight jacket 😂

WonkyDonk87 · 15/01/2018 21:08

Yeah, I'd go for a big cotton one, with big wide straps and back. (I'm biased against style and towards comfort - haven't had an underwired bra in over 4 years). Your tatas are important - the deserve to be well supported and comfy

SoozC · 15/01/2018 23:00

I've figured it out; af is still haywire after the mc. I had one af 5 weeks after mc but just assumed I'd then return to normal. I guess not! Just got to wait for it. How annoying and disheartening.

MynameisJune · 16/01/2018 07:23

Someone slap me, stark white bfn at 10dpo. Why do I bother testing when I know the outcome?

Good luck today, bubblegum - I hope you get some answers and that they are easily solvable. Let us know how you get on :)

MynameisJune · 16/01/2018 07:34

Good luck today @bubblegum hope it goes as well as these things can.

@sooz and @milk sorry for af being screwed, I know how that feels when TTC and it’s so frustrating and disheartening.

WonkyDonk87 · 16/01/2018 08:00

So sorry milk - be gentle with yourself today

Sooz I think I'm the same. AF 35 days after mc..... nothing since.

June We are all guilty on occasion of that one!

Pibbee · 16/01/2018 09:47

Hope your appointment goes OK @bubblegum!

@Milk, I think a 10-day luteal phase is just about OK. Is yours usually longer?

MynameisJune · 16/01/2018 09:50

@milk 11dpo is only slightly shorter than acceptable. 12-16 is ideal I believe so 11 isn’t massively outside that window.

I’m listening to music at work to drown out the noise and some of my sadder song choices are making me teary so af is definitely planning an early appearance before the weekend.

RhiBee29 · 16/01/2018 10:04

@Milknosugar1 my luteal phase was really short after mc I took vitamin b complex and it returned to 14days within 3 months. It's taken 6 months to get back to a normal 28 day cycle

Good luck @Bubblegum89

We've all done it @MynameisJune don't get disheartened my last bfp was at 17dpo

Oh I know @milk IRL none of my friends tried for more than 11 months so none got to this stage of tests and IVF looming etc. A few friends of friends but no one I can talk to. The one person I thought would understand really doesn’t and says helpful things like ‘relax’ whilst stroking her ever growing bump 😡😡😡 This does not make a person relax!
That’s why this thread is a lifeline, makes me feel normal! We’re here for you @milk hugs

DoAsDreamersDo · 16/01/2018 11:34

Oh Milk what a rubbish day for you. I'm so sorry that this is all just a bit shit. I bet there's lots of people who you know IRL who are also having a shit time, but no-one talks about it. It is why this thread is so important to us all because we're all just having a shit time together (hmm, that's not better is it but hopefully you all know what I mean).

Thanks for the good luck, ladies :)

Just got home. My AMH came back normal as did OH’s SA and my US from last time. I knew they were about to fob me off so I mentioned my weird cycles and rubbish periods and she said she is going to ask for me to have a SIS and hyscosy and if any of those come back not 100% clear, she will push for a hysteroscopy as she is more bothered about checking my cavity if anything (due the possibility of scarring which can be missed on other tests) She did say though that we are not allowed to have unprotected sex for one month before the tests as they won’t do them if there’s a chance I could be pregnant. OH isnt too happy because I refuse to used condoms haha other than that though, it went okay.

Hi Yams. Mind if I join? AF has just arrived after kindly postponing herself for 3 days and convincing me I was pregnant. Feeling pretty shitty tbh and doubting whether it will ever happen.

So here I am, pleased to meet to you.

cycle 7 (no hint of a bfp)
Age 32
Ttc 1
