Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Welcome this is madness and sorry to hear about your losses. Wishing you luck. I've been reading a few Fertility books and if it's your sort of thing I think baby making bible talks about TTC after miscarriage (might be wrong) and it starts with the egg has some useful stuff on trying to get the best egg possible x

thisismadness77 · 17/01/2018 12:34

Thank you hedgehog, I’ve heard of that book before, I’ll get straight on Amazon now. Cutting down on Wine and coffee might be a good start.... I think that would make me feel that I’m doing as much as I can! Good call.

crivit · 17/01/2018 14:17

Orchid Did a test (before seeing your post) but no joy - I'm letting the side down here!

Hi thisismadness - Rambles are good, never apologise Smile

I disappeared for a couple of weeks after barely saying hi (sorry!) but basically I'm a stress bunny. I'd been signed off work with work related stress since the first week of the year and, after another gp visit today, am now signed off until the 10th or so of Feb. I can't help but be concerned that this stress isn't helping. I'm currently 53 days into a cycle which is almost unheard of for me.

Had a chat with my partner about this TTC lark as well and he's talking about maybe taking a test to check out his sperm status. He had one some years ago and they were apparently 'super'. But they were early 30s then, not late 40s so... It seems it's psychologically easier for him as he (unsuccessfully) went through the IVF process with his ex-wife so was resigned to not having children before we met. I've bought a thermometer so am taking daily temps now along with the myriad of supplements. So we'll see...

On the plus side, the gp obviously raised the possiblility of medication for the anxiety and I said I'd rather not right now and one of the reasons I gave was that I was TTC. After I'd said don't laugh given my age, she did laugh but said I wasn't old. Official doctor opinion there, I'm not old Shock Grin

(Cripes, just realised I've rambled too!)

JoJoyorker · 17/01/2018 15:03

How old are you Crivit? Sorry I can't remember

crivit · 17/01/2018 15:07

whispers 43. I think the gp was being nice but I'll take that right now Smile

JoJoyorker · 17/01/2018 18:21

That's very reassuring isn't it!

Karigan1 · 18/01/2018 13:39

So definitely not pregnant. Forgotten how heavy AF was when off the pill and can’t get the damn mooncup to not leak. Roll on approx 12 days from now :) and the fun stuff!

crivit · 18/01/2018 14:36

You're doing better than me with the mooncup Karigan. I've tried it twice with more than a 10 year gap. First one I couldn't even get in, second one I barely managed to get it out - took about 15 minutes!

Yay for fun stuff!

Cleozeta · 18/01/2018 18:23

Glad it's all started finally karigan!
Crivit that is reassuring that 43 is not old, I like your gp!
Im still waiting for ov. Still getting faint lines on opk's and highs on cbfm, been the same for ages now! Although today started getting some ewcm so hopefully soon.

littlemimosa · 18/01/2018 18:34

Karigan, it took me 2-3 cycles to get fully 'professional' with the mooncup. Honestly don't give up yet. It's well worth the trouble it takes to practice. You'll get there if you keep trying. My first cycle with it I just used it on and off, 2nd cycle used it a bit more but still used pads as an occasional back-up then by cycle 3 I was using it full time. Anything you need help with?? I can try to troubleshoot for you....By the way, a heavy period is a great sign your lining is building up again properly after the pill. Have the sore boobs gone down yet?

crivit - same to you too. As you can see i'm a big fan of the mooncup, will you give it another try?

Karigan1 · 18/01/2018 18:36

Yeah sore boobs went the day before AF. That was the first time I slept through again too so obviously it was progesterone reestablising itself in my body. :)

Alibaba2 · 19/01/2018 17:54

Had a smear (and high vaginal swab) today. God, they’re awful aren’t they? I have brown discharge now (which they warned me might happen).

Cleozeta · 19/01/2018 19:20

Urgh I had one of those recently. Horrible things

littlemimosa · 19/01/2018 19:48

I’m with you there Ali.
I detest smears. It’s the scraping of my cervix that does it.

So here’s a new 2ww ‘symptom’. I got my usual sore boobs two days after ovulation. They were sore for a week then went away. This is usually a sign that AF is imminent. However it was a bit early but since my cycles aren’t as predictable these days I didn’t think anything of it. Then, after two days of no soreness they starting hurting again. Never had that before. So of course hopes are up now. Also had a random tugging feeling a couple of days ago in the uterine area! My body does a fine job of tricking me each month. Sigh.

Karigan1 · 19/01/2018 20:43

Where are they hurting. I spent ages googling about sore boobsas mine were awful! Apparently when oestrogen is on the rise round ovulation they should hurt at the front and nipples and when progesterone is on the rise it should be swelling and general pain in the boob itself like a bruise. That should peak day 21 I think (there are graphs). So could be :) keep monitoring and if they keep being sore then it could be your month :)

Alibaba2 · 19/01/2018 20:54

In my last pregnancy, I had the swollen boobs after ov that went down end of cycle then boom, back up again and they didn’t go down.

HappyHedgehog247 · 19/01/2018 21:05

Sorry for your horrid smear Ali. I hate them too although the speculum even more than the scraping (wincing even writing that, sorry!)

Fingers crossed for everyone waiting and hope the breast tenderness might be a good sign.

I'm on cd16 so way too early to test. Couldn't try at all on day 14. It's all feeling a bit of a wild goose chase today. Having 1 large glass of red and hoping that won't hurt things.

littlemimosa · 19/01/2018 21:53

That’s interesting Ali. I’m really not reading anything into it though. They aren’t as sore as usual with the progesterone just slightly tender.

Karigan - they are sore at the sides mainly. Usually they are sore all over post ov. I don’t get any boob soreness at all at ovulation. Never have. How’s your first AF going?

Hedgehog- enjoy your wine. I had a glass of red today with dinner. I’m not giving up my weekly unit of alcohol. I treat myself to a really good expensive glass and savour it:)

Karigan1 · 19/01/2018 21:59

Lol it’s alright now the mad heavy days are done. Gone back to manageable again. Sounds all good :) crossing fingers and sending baby vibes!

Orchid222 · 19/01/2018 22:18

Mimosa-I think there's definitely a chance, I guess you'll know soon enough.
I spent two days surrounded by people who are to become parents, in a group of 20+ 3 men will soon be fathers and one women is pregnant at 41, took her 2 years of trying and 2 mc. Sigh.A7
Ali-I purposely didn't call the clinic hoping for a miracle this cycle but somehow I convinced myself it wouldn't happen so I'll call next week. I'm at the start of cd16 and my cb opks are still showing empty circles driving me mad, not even a flashing smile. Dtd every other day but would really like to see a smile to make me feel better and slightly hopeful.

Orchid222 · 19/01/2018 22:20

Hedgehog and Mimosa-I was out last night, had a large glass of white wine and 2 (or 3) small glasses of prosecco...hopefully it won't mess things up but I'm just fed up by no alcohol and no coffee and nothing happening in the baby department so figured I need to take a break to loosen up. Who knows maybe it'll help? :)

JoJoyorker · 19/01/2018 23:27

I haven't even thought about not having a drink whilst trying. Tonight was the first night I've had a drink since New Year but that's only because I felt like I had more than enough in December so it's been nice to have a break.

JoJoyorker · 20/01/2018 14:06

Does it take a while for EPO to work? I started on day one of this cycle. Today is day 12 and had the peak on clearblue but I've barely had any EWCM maybe less than normal 😒 I wasn't expecting a peak until Monday

Cleozeta · 20/01/2018 18:16

I had a few drinks last night too, and might have another one tonight. Don't think it will do any harm.

Getting a bit concerned about this non soy cycle. Been getting high's on cbfm and faint lines on opk's since cd9, it's now cd15 and nothing has changed. Lines are not getting darker. It's a bit weird. Was not sure what to expect this month but not had any month do this before. Worried body is gearing up to ov and failing....

Alibaba2 · 20/01/2018 21:17

Jojo, some months I don’t notice ewcm. I think it’s pretty random for me. And actually on the day of the surge, cm is creamy.

Cleo - would you expect ov by now? Have you had any cycles like this before in terms of the opks?
