Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Cleo what is the LH/FSH test? I've got one more day 21 test to have so not sure what the next step is.

Alibaba2 · 15/01/2018 19:29

LH/FSH is a day 3 blood test. I think the ratio can show PCOS but mainly they look at FSH as a sign of egg reserve and how well you will respond to IVF drugs.

Hey all, nothing to report or say, just reading through all your posts and wanted to say hi. I'm 7DPO I think but I'm not hopeful (again) this month as only dtd once as ov was so stupidly early.

How did you find your gp appt Cleo?

Alibaba2 · 15/01/2018 20:02

Orchid - did you speak to my Clinic?

Cleozeta · 15/01/2018 20:03

GP appointment was fine, saw a different dr this time which is good, as I do feel a bit of a muppet going back after the perimenopause drama in August. The dr explained that the last hormone tests I had were inconclusive (interesting how different doctors read test results differently), as they were not taken on specific cycle days, and by doing these tests now while in cycle, it would give a more realistic result. I just hope it's a good one. Worried about the FSH although I read somewhere (good old google) that soy can actually lower FSH, so could be interesting to see if it has. Hopefully I now have the ovarian reserve of a 20 year old Grin

Jojo - the FSH day 3 test can also tell you how close to menopause you are, so result needs to be low!
Karigan, I'd go for it now if you are going to do it, rather than wait another month. I kind of wish I'd booked in to do it last week as I'm now cd10 so have to wait ages for the next cd3!

Littlemimosa - it only takes once so don't give up hope just yet!

Orchid222 · 15/01/2018 21:11

Alibaba-I got so busy at work that I completely forgot to call. Making a note in my work calendar now. I'll try to get an appt for early next week.

That’s a good sign Orchid. Currently getting cold feet on the IUI but I never feel clucky around ov.

I got a strong positive opk tonight (darker than this morning) so we should dtd right? We dtd last night and normally do every other day but it’s looking like ov will either be tonight or tomorrow morning.

Orchid222 · 15/01/2018 22:32

Alibaba-and I was going to ask if you've already set up your appt for OUI! I don't want to do it either but feel like I don't have much choice. All tests are great yet after 8 months still nothing. We didn't want a big age gap between our children and as it is it will be at least 3 years between them so really dont want to wait any longer just got to the point where I'm feeling desperate and need to do something.
And I'd dtd tonight if you haven't already 😀

Just catching up with everyone. Glad doctors went well Cleo and sounds like the timing is good for dtd Ali! I've tried on cd 9,10,11,12 this month but I'm using donor sperm and not at all confident about technique. Going to be hard to try on day 13/14 as away from home but may see if I can figure out a way. Have lost my thermometer so can't tell if ovulated or not. So so annoying!

Karigan1 · 16/01/2018 09:13

Booked a Drs appt for this afternoon. Might be too soon but the amount of taxes I’ve paid I think I’ve earnt ten minutes of their time lol.

Cleozeta · 16/01/2018 10:45

Well done karigan! Let us know how it goes!

Cleozeta · 16/01/2018 10:47

Good luck hedgehog, hopefully you have done enough already so won't need to worry about anymore. Have you been doing opk's to check ovulation?

Karigan1 · 16/01/2018 12:01

Think my body heard me and got a spot that may be an AF starting. Hopefully that means I’m ovulating again and can crack on with the baby making :)

Alibaba2 · 16/01/2018 18:38

Ov has finally happened today at cd11. Pleased that it wasn’t too early.

Spots can also be pregnancy Karigan.

Good news at the GP Cleo! Sounds like last GP was a bit dramatic.

Karigan1 · 16/01/2018 18:47

Ohhhh get baby dancing Ali. Good luck

HappyHedgehog247 · 16/01/2018 18:50

Glad to hear your body is behaving Karigan and hope docs went well.

Pretty sure I ovulated today (CD13). Lost my thermometer which is so annoying (was in hotel one night this week), but had cramps today, and OPK was positive this morning and fading again by afternoon and I know from past months it seems to coincide with Ov rather than in advance.

I think I'm trying to convince myself as I can't try tomorrow as travelling for work so hope some swimmers have stuck around!

Alibaba2 · 16/01/2018 20:06

Sounds positive Hedgehog!

Cleozeta · 16/01/2018 20:38

Glad something is happening karigan! There's something so nice and reassuring about cd1 after a long wait!
Alibaba - glad your ov day worked out for you! I'm still waiting for mine. Getting highs on cbfm and faint lines on opk's every day still, so guess this will be a long drawn out one! Will see what happens in the next day or 2

HappyHedgehog247 · 16/01/2018 20:49

Good luck Cleo, sounds like it won't be long.

Karigan1 · 17/01/2018 07:29

Well still just brown spotting so time will tell. Doubt it’s pregnancy as think I’ve had a progesterone dip too.

Do you count spots as cd 1 or wait for more?

Orchid222 · 17/01/2018 08:40

Ladies apparently more women will find out they are pregnant today than on any other date this year..is anyone ready to test? 😁

OP posts:
JoJoyorker · 17/01/2018 08:57

I wish I was! FX that happens for someone on here. No just coming into fertile week I think. Started testing OPK today, negative, I think it will be at the weekend.

thisismadness77 · 17/01/2018 09:01

Hello ladies. Can I join? I’m 40 with a 5 year old who we conceived easily. Tried again around 2 years ago and had 3 consecutive m/c, the last two were missed. Horrid. Two ERPC’s. We decided not to try again 6 months ago, as it didn’t seem to be right and we were happy ish with one. Saying that... we both feel a bit disappointed that this is it now. Surrounded by new babies... this week we tentatively agreed to have another try after Easter when we have a big hol planned. Don’t want to risk a M/c at Disneyland, based on previous 8 week mark experience. So... I’m terrified of a bad outcome, worried about my age and disability likelihood, and generally not confident about getting our hopes up and another mc. Hospital bloods didn’t say much, perhaps a borderline result for clotting issue, they said scan at 6 weeks then if viable daily heparin injections.
I don’t know what I’m asking really.. is it daft to think perhaps it just isn’t meant to be? Or am I just scared of what seems to be the inevitable outcome. My 5 year old would love a sibling, and if i could take away the fear and risk I know we would both really wish for it too. Sorry for the ramble. :) and breathe...

Cleozeta · 17/01/2018 09:43

Karigan - cd1 is first day of full bleeding, not spotting. Sounds like it's on the way though.

Orchid - sadly not ready to test either! Also approaching fertile week. Another high result on cbfm today, still no peak.

Welcome thisismadness, sorry to hear about your 3 m/c. Must have been awful.
We can all understand and relate to your worries and fears with the age issue, but somehow hope still remains!
I've almost given up a few times thinking it was not meant to be, but then always end up continuing.
To be honest I don't know how age has slipped me by and I'm suddenly 40 and everything is going downhill!
