Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Cleo-it's a weird one for me too. I never get a static smile later than cd17 and usually (apart from last cycle) I get flashing smiles beforehand. When I tested this morning on cd16 I got an empty circle, tested this evening with cheap opk and nothing and cd17 has already started...I'm not sure what to think, I don't have the slightest hint of a surge.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 20/01/2018 22:16

I know they say our cycles can change slightly after 40, but mine is different every month now!
Alibaba - most months I would not expect it by now, but I've never had a high or a line on an opk as early as cd9 before so thought it might happen early this month, but it's just dragging on in the same middle state for days now, a week even. That's not normal is it?? Maybe it's weird because of not having the soy, who knows.
Orchid - does empty circle mean no hint of anything? Like a low? When do you normally ov? I often don't get a hint of anything until later, anything between cd16-21. But when a faint line or a high appears, things progress from there usually. Seem to be stuck this month!!
Hopefully tomorrow we'll both get some movement!

littlemimosa · 20/01/2018 22:39

JoJo - no idea really but guessing it might take a couple of cycles for EPO to work its magic?
Cleo & Orchid - sorry things sound frustrating. I have no answers for you I’m afraid with regards to ovulation. My cycle is frustrating too around ov, but in a different way to yours. I get a positive opk too quickly after AF. Then that’s it. Job done by cd9. I know I’m out this month. My reliable old zit which only makes an appearance 2-3 days pre AF has popped up in its usual place. Honestly I don’t need pregnancy tests. I have too many signs and symptoms which I know only to well. Sigh.

Karigan1 · 20/01/2018 23:27

What is EPO?

Leaving it to nature this month. Taking my magnesium to help body post pill and pre Nates but thinking I’ll see what happens.

Day 5 :) AF will be over soon and then fun stuff.

Orchid222 · 21/01/2018 08:58

Karigan- EPO is evening primrose oil.
Cleo-its empty circle means no surge. Got another one this morning on cd17 it's never been later than that. I think I saw a faint line on a cheap opk sk msybd its coming.
Last week I saw a colleague from one of our offices on the continent who's 41 and due with her 3rd in June but it took her 2 years and 2 mc to get there. But as awful as mc are at least they showed she could get pg? I haven't even had a hint of pregnancy for 9 months. Sigh.

Cleozeta · 21/01/2018 14:08

I got a peak this morning! Woop woop! Thankfully. Was starting to get concerned.
Orchid - hopefully you will get yours in the next day or two as well.
I've had no hint of pregnancy in the last nearly year that I've been trying either, no chemical, nothing. Would be nice to know it could happen.
Mimosa - you are not out until af arrives! Early ov must be frustrating. Have you tried any suppliments to push it back? I think there are a few that can do that.

HappyHedgehog247 · 21/01/2018 14:21

Wishing you luck Cleo. My acupuncture seems to be pushing my ov back slightly. But heard supplements can help with this also x

Orchid222 · 21/01/2018 18:50

Oh good news Cleo good luck! Hopefully mine is coming soon. How many times do you dtd after you get a peak?

OP posts:
JoJoyorker · 21/01/2018 19:02

This month we DTD the day before the peak and day of peak. I'm not sure if we should had DTD the day after peak too? So the peak was at 8am Friday so we DTD fri night, should we have DTD sat too? When you get the peak is it worth doing it the day after too? I assumed would ovulate on the day of peak?

Cleozeta · 21/01/2018 19:03

I think I might ov the same day of peak, this morning my temp really dropped like it does before the ov spike. Dtd last night and will again tomorrow and that'll be it (we can only do every other day)

Alibaba2 · 21/01/2018 19:14

Good news Cleo, good luck!

Orchid222 · 21/01/2018 19:21

We've been following the sperm meets the egg plan so dtd every other day the day of the peak and the 2 following it, one day of break and dtd one more time for luck. It worked with our first like magic but nothing's happening now so thinking of changing it, maybe we did too often and should only do every other day? My she's results were good so I don't think there's a problem she 3 days in a row but it is exhausting and not working so might need to revise that.

OP posts:
crivit · 22/01/2018 11:31

fingers crossed for everyone who has been DTD this weekend.

After two days of barely there (sort of panty liner only level) AF has arrived with a vengeance this morning. Given I was getting negative tests I'm just happy it's shown up properly!

However, it could have chosen a better date as if the next one hasn't arrived by my birthday I'll be a day or two late (if using my old regular cycle as a guide which obviously I will do because I'm an idjit). Setting myself up for a nice birthday BFN there Hmm. Although I'll be having a spa treatment that day so should do a test anyway just in case (therapist is aware I'm TTC and is very mindful of it - treatments have definitely changed).

Karigan1 · 22/01/2018 14:23

Ok got evening primrose to try, drinking grapefruit juice, taking cq10 and pre Nate’s so come on eggs lol.

Good luck those that hit the ovulation over the last few days. Hope you got some baby dancing time in ;)

Orchid222 · 23/01/2018 11:01

Here's something interesting. I bought cheap opks 2 days ago to use in the morning at the same time as my cb opks and in the evening. Last night I saw a v faint line on the cheap ones, this morning I FINALLY got a peak on cb (cd19!) but the cheap opks were still negative. Tested again just now and they are getting darker but interesting that the cb ones detected the surge a few hours before the cheap ones did. Had anyone else had similar experience?

OP posts:
Karigan1 · 23/01/2018 11:55

Hmmm I got cheapies this month but may go back to clear blue!

Cleozeta · 23/01/2018 12:14

I always use cheapies alongside a cbfm, they normally match up ok, I like using the cheapies as I get a clearer idea of how close ov is by how dark the line goes, whereas the cbfm is much more yes or no. However the peak smiley face thing is deaply satisfying Grin
I think I did get one month when the peak came before the +opk, not sure why. This cycle it matched up.
Glad to hear you finally got your peak anyway.
This morning I got my temp rise to confirm ov, so just the waiting game now!

JoJoyorker · 23/01/2018 13:40

I never had a positive cheapie OPK but I've been using CB for about 4 months now and have had a peak each time.

HappyHedgehog247 · 23/01/2018 13:52

Hello

Somewhere - but it might have been a previous thread- I read a post that listed out all the different things to try e.g. ubiquinol etc. Does anyone know where I can find it?

x

sparklyglitterball · 23/01/2018 14:42

Hi ladies, mind if I join? We've been ttc no 3 for the past year with no luck. I'm 41, and we have two lovely girls. First took a year to conceive, and second took around 6 months early miscarriage then a further 6 months for successful pregnancy. We'd only ever planned two, and fully expected to be done and dusted before 40............but the broody urge took over and we started trying with the plan of giving it a year or so and to give up and accept two is the right number for us if it hadn't happened. I've been pretty chilled about it all generally, but last month had a longer than usual cycle and was convinced I was pregnant. Just started spotting today and feeling really low. I actually just wish I could be happy with two because it would be so much easier in many ways. But I would love to have just one more Smile. Hormones!! Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Orchid222 · 23/01/2018 14:57

Welcome sparkly!
Well, Ive tried again and the line on a cheap one is fading...How very strange. The only thing I can think of is I've been battling flu the last few days and read on Google that your body can delay ov (which would explain late peak) or prevent it if it thinks you're too ill to get pg this cycle. I really hope it won't mess things up for me.
Ali-this is the last cycle I gave myself and will be on the phone to your clinic if not successful. How is it going btw, have you made your appt yet or you're giving it a bit longer?

OP posts:
Karigan1 · 23/01/2018 15:51

I’m in two minds whether to use the cheapies or not. Might be better to just relax and dtd as often as possible rather than worrying about what the sticks say :/

Dtd anyway Orchid ;)

Orchid222 · 23/01/2018 16:24

Believe me Karigan having waited for 19 days I certainly will! Just hope it's not a wasted effort.

Just joining this thread. I will be 40 next month. Im expecting my ovaries to shrivel up and die in 30 days by the sounds of it :(

Anyway been trying 6 or 7 cycles for baby no1 (maybe too late). My cycles are 26-28 days and I take EPO and get loads of EWCM since using that, but only take it up until positive OPK as I notice it delays actual ovulation for me. Also use concieve plus.

This month I also started taking Q10 for my old lady eggs.

I think I'm 3dpo at the mo.

Karigan1 · 23/01/2018 16:41

Hey miss mars. This might help :)
