Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Yes you’re right, 1:1 ratio is fine. I’d read something on the ratio but yours is fine.

Alibaba2 · 27/02/2018 21:02

Mimosa, weird! Do you think ov happened today?

Cleozeta · 27/02/2018 21:27

Mimosa - so it was not anovulatory it was just very late ov, that's actually much better! Fingers crossed for normal cycle next time.
Ali - sorry your test results were not so good, did they class you as borderline for FSH? It's actually not so bad, and only just over 'normal'. What makes you think it might be soy affecting it? Only wondering as I used soy for all the cycles in between my 2 FSH readings and they went up by 8.4 which is quite a leap! Although I had read somewhere that soy ccan lower FSH, clearly not the case!
What is the deal with the ratio thing? My FSH is classicly high at 18.4 but because my LH was good at 5, they marked them together as boarderline, not high. Nothing said about ratio?
Af arrived this evening, so with tomorrow being officially cd1 now, means this cycle LP is 13 days, instead of the usual 11. Orchid - I've been doing TCM for 2 weeks, but it must have made the difference as not done anything else. My friend said her cycle was completely improved after 3 or 4 sessions, so I guess it must be doing something! I should hope so too at that price haha. Are you still doimg herbs too? My pot looks to last 2 weeks thankfully not 1, was worried it was going to be £100 a week with acupuncture too.
Still thinking of going down fertility clinic route too

Orchid222 · 27/02/2018 21:34

Mimosa- you're absolutely right re: tests and ovulation. Many years ago I spent a lot of time digging through 19th century church records researching my family tree and I couldn't believe how many women were having babies in their 40s and that's long before any fertility treatment was even thought of!

OP posts:
Orchid222 · 27/02/2018 21:54

Cleo- you're v lucky then I'm spending £155 a week so for obvious reasons I won't be able to keep it up for 3 cycles like they suggested but wanted to do at least 1 full cycle to see if it makes a difference. So yes I'm still doing it, into week 3 now.
Re: fertility clinic, what treatment would you consider? I'm going to wait and see what my fertility clinic days but am really thinking of IUI. Also I'm worried that with his my appt won't be for a long time and I'll miss another cycle or 2 waiting for it...
Ali, do you know what your consultant requires before attempting IUI? I wonder if I could potentially get it done there next cycle.

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 27/02/2018 22:01

Cleo - haven’t spoken to the consultant yet, will let you know. Weird that my oestrogen was so high! Much higher than last time! Soy, just trying to find reasons I guess. Wondered if it messed up my cycle as it sends a signal that oestrogen is low so everything may have gone into overdrive?

Orchid, they require vaginal swabs, sperm analysis and HyCoSy before IUI.

littlemimosa · 27/02/2018 22:01

Duh oh yeah I never thought about it as late ovulation lol. Whatever it is it’s odd for me. Age no doubt. I presume I’ll bleed in 14 days. Yes I woke up with ewcm and have had ov pains all day. If boobs start hurting in a couple of days that’ll confirm it.

No idea about the ratio thing. I have heard it before but no idea on it. My LH was 11 and my FSH 6.5 but that was a day 21 test. Is the ratio supposed to stay the same thru the whole cycle?

Orchid222 · 28/02/2018 08:00

Thanks Ali. Do they do vaginal swabs there? I've got sperm analysis and will have HyCoSy done soon so, assuming they take nhs results, I'd just need to get the swabs.

Orchid have you had a period since doing your TCM? Got my first one now and it does seem like I'm having a 'clear out'.. .

Alibaba2 · 28/02/2018 09:35

Yes they do Orchid

Orchid222 · 28/02/2018 12:57

No not yet expecting it next week. Cd26 now but since my opk went positive on cd21 I'm expecting a longer cycle this month

Orchid222 · 28/02/2018 13:28

Cleo-I'm is it much worse than usually?

Karigan1 · 28/02/2018 13:43

Bloods done today. I went with your advice and just claimed what I know to be 7dpo to be cd21. Now just waiting for results

Cleozeta · 28/02/2018 15:02

Orchid, its a bit different. Without tmi had a batch of brown stuff before actual af started. And now just seems a little different. Hopefully its doing some good

Cleozeta · 28/02/2018 15:04

Karigan good luck with your results, let us know how you get on

Fidgety31 · 01/03/2018 09:04

Hello ladies - I’m new here and this is my first post.
I’m 42 and just found out I am pregnant - only just - one day late for my period but I had a few inklings so took a test.
I’m worried about being so old. I have 3 boys already aged 20, 16 and 8.
Any advice would be appreciated.

JoJoyorker · 01/03/2018 09:08

Congratulations Fidgety! Had you been trying long? Hope it all goes well for you.

Fidgety31 · 01/03/2018 09:17

Thank you
I’m not sure if I should post into another thread as I wasn’t trying and I’ve just noticed all of you are so maybe it’s not appropriate for me to be in here ? Apologies if not.

weasledee · 01/03/2018 12:51

Fidge congratulations!!! How long have you been trying for? No definitely stay here and let us know how is going :)

JoJoyorker · 01/03/2018 18:27

AF has arrived 😞 I got my hopes up this month as I had a tiny bit of spotting 8DPO. I had no other symptoms so I should have realised really but that's never happened before so I really thought it could have been something. So it wasn't implantation but what could it have been?

Alibaba2 · 01/03/2018 19:17

Perhaps attempted implantation or hormonal changes.

PetraRabbit · 01/03/2018 19:22

Congratulations Fidgety! I'm sure you could post elsewhere but I think the mention of your pregnancy will encourage women our age who are trying.

Don't worry about being too old. This thread is full of 40 somethings TTC, so that's a lot of people who think it would be a great time for them.

I think your life stage is as big a factor as your age. I am exactly the same age as you but have an 8 month old and am newly pregnant with my second. I would never think of myself as too old but I can see with a 20 year old son it might feel different for you. Wishing you well!

Cleozeta · 04/03/2018 11:56

I've decided I might try IUI. Going to go to a fertility clinic and get tests done for next cycle. I'm aware that I am rapidly running out of time and I need to up the chances before it's too late. Will they do it with high FSH?
Who else is going for IUI?

Alibaba2 · 04/03/2018 13:50

Cool Cleo!

What’s putting me off is the cost. HyCoSy is 600 then IUI the same again. Plus swabs 200.

Are you tempted to get your FSH redone? Have you ever had AMH done?

Cleozeta · 04/03/2018 14:32

Yeah it is expensive. We are due to get a bit of extra money in next month with any luck so looking to spend it on this.
Not had AMH tested yet so will get the full test set at 450 plus IUI at about 750 and drugs around 400/500 it all racks up. But I'm just worried were out of chances for going it alone. Definitely want to get FSH tested as hopefully the TCM is bringing it down, but its so recent since my last NHS test I don't think they would do it again
