Quick question. I normally ov around cd10. This cycle I started opks on cd10 (yesterday) and got faint lines. Same for today (cd11).

Do you think it’s more likely that ov has already happened or is approaching?

Probably it’s coming rather than missed but I don’t think you could exclude either. Are you taking EPO as that could knock it back.

ALI - hopefully still yet to peak but it’s so hard to know for sure. I’m sure I ov quite differently each month and the signs I used to follow I now find unpredictable 🙁. I’ve stopped using opks as I found them increasingly unreliable. I’m also sure ovulation is much earlier than it was in that it was always around day 15 in fact when I got my peak with my last successful pregnancy aged 42 it was on cd 17! I’m sure it’s now as early as day 10 sometimes.

I do believe vit B6 can hold it back too

Were the lines exactly the same on both days? If so I reckon that you will still be due ov as the line would normally fade quickly after ov, but can be slow builld up before. Last month my line was at exactly the same level for several days (almost a week I think) before it got darker. However I knew that ov was iminant as my usual response to an opk is complete blank. I got my first faint line yesterday and it was slightly darker today (cd11) so I think it may move faster this cycle.
I have noticed for a little while now, no cycle is ever the same. It used to be so predictable! But now I really need opk's as ov is different every month. Some months its early, some its late, some its a slow build up on opk's (over a week of lines) sometimes it's sudden (1st faint line, then positive the next day). The only thing that is prredictable is is the unpredictableness.....

Hello, I hopped on this thread a long time ago but got pregnant fairly quickly, then miscarried, then got pregnant, then miscarried, then had another (fortunately very early) miscarriage last week.

Lines are all pretty similar Cleo. Am thinking ov happened on Sat as I had some twinges then. Might take a temp tomorrow am to make sure.

I’m taking Shatavari so I was hoping ov would be a bit later. Last month it was cd11 (with Shatavari).

Just been catching up on everything, doesn't sound like a hugely happy run we've had of late Here's hoping luck is about to improve!

Obviously Im busy symptom spotting because what else is there to do during the 2WW (I think I ovulated around the 3rd) but trying to hold off on POAS and instead eating lots of to help cut down on the nausea.

Keep checking Ali as it may still be yet to happen. I got twinges Saturday too but pretty certain no ov yet. Although my temps seem higher. Think it's just yet another oddity.
I've added to my list of many suppliments. Now also on vit B complex to extend LP and wheatgrass to lower FSH. Well and truly rattling.

Quick question, when do you use opk, in the morning or later in the day? I think cb says to do it in the morning but maybe better to use the cheapies in the afternoon?

I do a few opks each day but make sure tribe is not too diluted. So normally first thing, around midday then late afternoon.

So Ali how long do you wait before you do one? I'm struggling not to go to the loo for 4 hrs and drink 2 litres of water each day :(

Cleo- your list of supplements must be pretty impressive! I've decided to go with the more natural approach and starting yesterday I've been drinking some disgusting mix of Chinese herbs...Ive also decided to switch my acupuncturist and give the Chinese place a try. Will report back if I notice any difference/results.

I normally only test for a few days around ov until I get a positive.

I test first thing in the morning (but often do a wee beforehand at 5am), then depends when I’m in but normally around 12pm and 5pm.

I would guess waiting 2 hours before testing is fine.

Am not hopeful this month if I ov’d on cd9. I feel ov on cd10/11 but nothing on cd9 which could mean that the egg is not big/mature enough. Good job I didn’t waste money on IUI this month.

Hi again ladies 6DPO here and looking for symptoms..... well today I felt very sick.... surely it couldn't mean anything????? I do always suffer from HG....

Thanks Ali re:opks. Are you still thinking of IUI? I'm giving Chinese medicine a go this month and waiting to get my scan next month and then will decide.

Morning ladies, good luck to everyone. I thought we'd maybe done it this month as had sore boobs/nipples from ovulation.........which is unusual for me. But seems to have pretty much gone, which I guess is a sign of progesterone falling. I'm due on Friday/Saturday so preparing myself to greet af 😬😬

Felt absolutely nothing this month. Normally feel quite positive around ov but nothing this month.

Orchid I will be really interested to hear how your Chinese herbs & acupuncture go. It's supposed to be really good for lowering FSH so I'll be jumping on that after half term.

For opks I use the cbfm with fmu, then do a cheepie around midday/early afternoon (often with 2nd wee of the day) but to be honest I don't drink enough water really.

Ali are you sure you ov'd cd9? Or are you still getting opk lines today?

Yes I think ov happened cd9 as no lines today. Strongest line (still faint) was morning of cd10.

BOOSEY af and around that time of month is a killer for me too - everything always seems a thousand times worse and I’ve had some awful times when in the tww and then when af comes it’s just soul destroying. Currently mid cycle and trying to find the opportunity to do the deed as it’s half term! Good luck everyone xx

Have you checked temps to confirm?
At least if you have ov'd already you know you can try again in 2 weeks. Is it normally that early? You could try suppliments to push it back. I think B6 is good for that?

I'm pretty sure EPO pushes back ovulation. I normally ovulate on the day of CB peak. Last month first time of taking EPO peak on Saturday but didn't ovulate until Monday. Will see what happens this month. CB started flashing today I'm hoping the peak holds out until Friday when DH gets back 😔

Based on when AF came I got CB peak 2 days before ov and I’ve been taking EPO too.

AF came 17 days after peak.
