Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

I’ve not been taking any supplements other than a multi vitamin. My cycle has changed so much in the last two years and I struggle to know when I’m ovulating...it used to be so easy to tell grrrrr! I was using opks for a while but I found that meant dh and I ended up dtd at times when we really couldn’t be bothered and it was putting us both off doing it at allConfused

I’m waiting to see where my cycle is post miscarriage. God only knows!

BooseysMom · 13/02/2018 17:08

LuckyHappyMummy123...yes its a killer and is yours getting worse each month? Sometimes mine feels like chemical preg and i'm getting more clotting. Sorry about too much info! I wonder whether to start testing again. I did opks one month and having read all the msgs on this thread i can safely say i've had the same thing happen as one OP where the line was faint for days then suddenly got darker but by the evening there was no line whatsoever! They were given to me by a friend so maybe they were cheapies! I never bothered to buy any but maybe i should? 😕 Good luck everyone!

Alibaba2 · 13/02/2018 18:29

I did actually forget to take the epo this month (was taking fish oils instead) but was hoping Shatavari had sorted my early ov out. I normally ov on cd11 but lately it’s been cd10 and sometimes cd9.

Last month I really felt that my hormones were good but this month I feel really flat and low. Think my hormone levels are low.

I guess with early ov, egg quality is not as good which means progesterone etc are lower. Is that how it works?

Karigan1 · 14/02/2018 12:33

I think that’s what I read. I was a bit worried about early ov myself.

EPO helps as you know but did I read that one of the vitamin bs could also help? Might be worth googling?

BooseysMom · 14/02/2018 14:47

Hi ladies how is everyone doing? I'm a new-ish poster to this thread. Had a weird thing happen this morning! I've just finished af which was longer than usual. Then over the last 2 days i'm feeling a surge already! I don't use opks since last ones didn't really work i don't think. I'm a firm believer ..or try to be ...in leaving it to nature. And i know what you'll be about to say ...but at this age you can't afford to leave it to nature!! But after 3 years ttc dc2 nothing is happening and no way can we afford ivf so i am trying my very best to be grateful for what i do have which is ds who we adore (most of the time! !)...anyway i am rambling as usual! ...so this morning i look in the mirror and a light brown mark like a stain has appeared by the side of my eye. Inevitable googling came up with various possibilities inc. Hormonal changes ...could be peri menopause a knocking on my door!!!
Good luck everyone xx

MrsBobDylan · 14/02/2018 18:55

Hi Booseys, am also leaving it to nature and am worried about peri menopause...my cycles have shrunk from 31 days to 27 in the last two years so I think it’s not impossible, but I prefer to travel hopefully than find out for sure.

The other thing that has changed is that I have noooooo control over peeing on sticks. I become a crazy stick pee-r every monthBlush

sparklyglitterball · 14/02/2018 20:07

Hey ladies, along with my sore boobs subsiding I've had some brown discharge today..........so just waiting for af to show tomorrow. I really admire those of you trying for years and staying positive! I'm just over it really, been ttc number 3 for 13 months now and have had enough. My plan is to stop trying, but I can't bring myself to start using contraception!! I'm not sure if that's possible but gonna give it a good shot Smile. I want to focus on my gorgeous dc and dp.........I feel lucky to have what I've got and it's time to enjoy it and not be dwelling on what's missing. Someone said on this thread recently that their GP had said it's normal to take up to two years to conceive in your 40's. Reading that has really helped me process all of this. Bossey, I understand where you're coming from.........being grateful for what we have is so important. Anyway, enough of my prosecco induced rambling! Happy Valentine's Day to you all. Xxx

BooseysMom · 14/02/2018 22:01

Thank you and Happy Valentines Day to you too! I hope your dp's spoiled you a bit. Only just got ds to sleep and it's 9.45pm...dreading getting him up in the morning! He's 4 and already resembling a teen in so many ways! ! Tonight it was "i hate mummy's and daddies" ...lovely! Sometimes i do feel glad we've just got the one! I can't imagine doing doing it all again. Today there was a tiny baby in the supermarket. I had to stop and ask how old ..he was just a week!! So gorgeous and i felt broody. How both parents were out after one week is incredible!.. .i didn't go out for about 6 weeks!!! They had a 3 & half year old too and they looked in their early 30's .
Sparkly: i'm the same..i can't bring myself to start using contraception either. There's always a just in case in the back of my mind.
It's so great to have ladies in the same boat to chat to here! I just wish we'd get some bfps soon x

littlemimosa · 14/02/2018 22:38

Hi all. I just opened up mumsnet for the first time since I said au revoir as I’m missing all the ttc chat! Thought I’d say hello.

Ali I couldn’t help notice your posts in particular as I’m on my second ever anovulatory cycle. First one happened about two years ago and cycles resumed ok afterwards but I did have a six week cycle. I know I’ve not ovulated at all this month and like you was wondering if the Shatavari has affected things. I’m trying not to stress too much as it’s just one month and actually I think my ovaries need a rest from ovulating every third week! Aaaah.

weasledee · 15/02/2018 07:54

Hi ladies, how we all doing?

I keep symptom spotting and being optimistic, I'm 9 DPO and going to test at the weekend......

Cleozeta · 15/02/2018 08:38

Hi mimosa, good to see you back. Sorry to hear you are having an anovulatory cycle, they are horrible. Are you feeling rubbish with it too? I remember having all kinds of awful symptoms with mine, caused by the imbalance of hormones. Hopefully it will go back to normal next cycle. I found soy helped that for me.

Good luck weasledee

Karigan1 · 15/02/2018 09:26

Sorry to hear that mimosa.

How do you know if it’s an anovulatory cycle? What are the symptoms?

Good luck Weasel

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 10:20

Nice to hear from you mimosa. I had one before my first 21 day blood test which confirmed I didn't ovulate. It all went back to normal the next month. I think it was a shorter cycle though. Nothing much happening with me. Still waiting for my AMH result. Just coming into FW again, CB showing high so expecting a peak in the next few days. I dread the TWW I send myself crazy 😔

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 10:21

Oh and good luck weasle 😊

Alibaba2 · 15/02/2018 10:24

Hi Mimosa, nice to hear from you!

I’ve been in touch with my Consultant and decided not to proceed with IUI but he’s going to do a scan next cycle to check tubes and have a look at the eggs pre-ov. I’m also going to ask for another FSH blood test to see where that’s at.

If all that looks ok, the next thing is a post-coital test to check sperm activity in the cervical mucus.

I feel better about this and that I’m actually doing something.

Good luck weasle!

Cleozeta · 15/02/2018 12:56

Ali - that sounds really positive to be actually doing something. Good luck with it all.

Jojo - I find the 2ww is the only time I can relax! I love it when I know I have ov'd and done all I can, then it's time to breath. The lead up to ov is super stressful as I always worry it won't happen.

This month for exmple, it was all looking really good, lots of ewcm, opk's getting nice and dark. Then today I woke up, took my temp as normal and went back to sleep, then checked the temp on waking, but was half asleep and thermomitor was upside down. By the time I turned it the reading was gone. So no idea what temp was, did cbfm and it was still reading high (no peak yet) but line on it lighter than yesterday. Just done cheapie and line has now gone really faint after being very dark (but not quite positive) yesterday. So now I have no idea if I've ovulated or if body has given up and gone back to bed. sigh

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 13:52

Oh no Cleo how stressful 😣 can you DTD later in case. Keep doing the CB see what it says tmrw?
That is very true. I'm fretting about will we DTD at the right time this month, will there be a delay after the peak again, will we manage to DTD enough. Ugh!

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 13:58

Having to force DTD stresses me out too. We would normally only do it once a week so to suddenly do it every day is not natural to us, I'm pleased when FW is over so can relax and go back to normal.

Cleozeta · 15/02/2018 14:14

Yeah I love that feeling of fw being over and we've done all we can. No need to force dtd anymore! We can only dtd every other day anyway as that's all dh can physically manage with conclusion (if you get what I mean!)
I think I would start to get miffed at every day.
I just wish I hadn't fluffed this mornings temp then I'd know if its done or not! I'm guessing not by lack of +opk but then why are they getting fainter now?? Urgh stress

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 15:20

We've never actually tried every day before but with him working away we only have half the week anyway. So it will be every day for four days just so can try and catch the right day. Well that's my plan I'm not sure he will be able to cooperate 😂

JoJoyorker · 15/02/2018 15:21

That is strange they are getting fainter. Can you try another CB see what that looks like now? Are you still getting EWCM?

Cleozeta · 15/02/2018 16:19

Haha yes sometimes a plan will not match with reality!

I no longer have ewcm, it's gone creamy (which it often does after ov, so thats a good sign) will have to wait and see what it does next. Also will be interesting to see what temp does tomorrow. I'm really hoping it's done

Cleozeta · 15/02/2018 17:56

Ok scrap that, I still have ewcm. No idea why opk's have faded. stress

Orchid222 · 16/02/2018 08:14

Ali-looking at the eggs pre-ov and checking the tubes are 2 separate things right? I'm waiting for my next cycle to call the hospital to schedule the test for tubes, last thing I need before having an appt at the fertility clinic. They didn't mention looking at the eggs though so if that's done separately I might do that privately depending on what the tubes scan shows. At the moment though I'm waiting for ov. Cd14 today and still nothing on opks but im noy expecting anything until monday. Would be so nice to finally get a bfp and be done with it all...but with the amount if stress I've been under at work I doubt anything will happen. Was hoping the Chinese herbs will help a bit but not feeling less stressed...having acupuncture and massage today at the Chinese place in hope that helps a bit.

Alibaba2 · 16/02/2018 13:04

Sorry you’re stressed Cleo. I think stress only affects ov timing so don’t worry too much.

Presuming that tube check has to take place pre-ov, my guy said he would take a look at eggs at the same time to estimate timing of ovulation. A scan is needed for both so he’ll have a good look while he’s doing tubes. Wish we’d done this a year ago when he sent me away saying I’d be pg in 3 months!

So my schedule is this:

Pre-AF - HVS to check for infection (had this done recently but they have to check 1 week before checking tubes)
CD1 - FSH and oestrogen blood test
Approx CD6 - scan and tube test
