Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

What should the LP be? I think mine is only 11 days too. Well I started spotting on day 25 which was 11dpo AF arrived in full on day 27

Cleozeta · 07/02/2018 20:47

Wow 7, that's quite impressive!

Jojo, I don't think 11 day LP is a problem, it's just shorter than it should be. They say ideal is 14 days, but it won't cause a problem unless under 10.
My issue is that mine was always 14 days until I started ttc, now it's 11!

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 09:14

Bollocks. Just got my FSH back. It's 18.2 Sad

JoJoyorker · 08/02/2018 10:37

I was just about to come on here and ask if you had yours back. Oh no 😞 where does that put you? Good is under 10 isn't it? What were your other results?
I just rang up for mine and am really confused by the serum estrogen one. Any ideas what this is or what the level should be? I cannot find anything online apart from for estradol is this the same thing? Mine was 164 which is high if it's the same thing. Others were ok:
fsh 7.2
LH 7
AMH not back yet

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 10:46

Cleo-sorry your fsh is higher than you hoped but I have read stories of women with much higher fsh still getting pregnant so there's still hope. Quite a few mentioned Chinese herbs helping them so if you have a Chinese medicine place near you maybe it's worth giving it a shot? I might try to find one too, maybe it'll help more than acupuncture. I do believe Chinese medicine helps with different things.

JoJoyorker · 08/02/2018 10:57

Cleo I've just had a look online. Do you know if your fsh and LH were around the ratio of 1:1? This seems to indicate a lot around fertility

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 11:08

JoJo-I looked at my results because they have a range for everything but don't see serum oestrogen at all so can't help :(

Thank you orchid. I am wondering if she said it wrong or I've written it down incorrectly as I can't find anything. I'm at the surgery later so will collect a print out and check.

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 11:23

LH was 5. Not sure what that means? Any idea's?

Orchid, thanks, will look into chinese herbs. How about acupuncture? Is that supposed to help too?

Just thinking it might be wiser to wave the white flag now, and give up now Sad

weasledee · 08/02/2018 11:29

Well despite OH illness we managed to dtd once so let the tww commence! 😁 (not holding out much hope!!)

JoJoyorker · 08/02/2018 11:30

I think your LH is really good then. I think that needs to be between 3 and 10. FSH and LH should be around the same though so that's a big difference. If LH is higher than FSH that seems to indicate PCOS but not sure of the other way round? What were your other results? Did the doctor comment on them?

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 11:55

Just been to see GP to discuss results. He said as my progesterone results were good, and I am definitely ovulating, there is still a chance. Apparently it can take up to 2 years in our age group.
He said not to read too much into FSH as it can fluctuate, and generally does rise with age. He said the important one for me is the progesterone which is good. He said LH is also good at 5.

He also suggested if no luck soon to try private fertility clinic, as NHS do not offer much in the way of fertility any more in my area (cambridge)

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 12:00

That's really good news Cleo! And you wanted to waive the white flag already! What was your progesterone? I found a Chinese place not too far from me so will go there later in hope of getting some miracle herbal tea :)

JoJoyorker · 08/02/2018 12:06

That is really good news Cleo. Sounds like your doctor was really reassuring. I guess we do need to look at the results together rather than worrying about one figure. What was your progesterone?

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 12:45

Proogesterone was 28.4, I didn't think it was that good but he said it's well within the range, and says I am definitely ovulating, so i'll go with that.

Definitely going to be hunting down a chinese place too, I like the sound of that. Worth a try!

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 14:56

Cleo-on my way to the Chinese place will report back soon.
So I had my blood tests done yesterday and smear test today and if be ready for the fertility clinic appt if it wasn't for the scan to check my tubes which I can only book on cd1 so another 26-27 days to go! :( would be great if I got pregnant thus cycle and not have to bother with it all...

OP posts:
Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 16:23

Ok so they say herbal therapy is much more effective if you have an initial consultation, go through your cycle, blood tests egg. So I have that booked for tomorrow night and will get my herbs after that. It's not cheap! Cheaper than ivf though and they claim to have high success rates for over 40's with oldest woman there getting pregnant at 48 and a 44yo told, after taking the herbs for a few months, that her ovaries are 10 years younger than her age so let's see what happens.

OP posts:
Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 17:02

That sounds interesting - and worth a shot! How expensive are we talking?

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 17:32

£100 for the initial consultation and £90 per week for herbs

OP posts:
Alibaba2 · 08/02/2018 17:33

ears prick up

Which place is that Orchid?

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 17:48

Is that £90 every week??

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 17:48

It would have to work at that price!

Orchid222 · 08/02/2018 18:37

Yes every week, I certainly do hope it works at that price! I'm also going to do moxibustion (might be misspelling it) a few days before ovulation as it's supposed to help. We'll see. My place is in South West London but I'd Google Chinese medicine places near you and look at reviews, that's what I did. I had a great Chinese place around the corner from our old house though I only used it once when my baby was breeched and that has fantastic reviews but it's a bit far for me now.

Cleozeta · 08/02/2018 20:08

I have found one fairly nearby that looks good. Will get onto it.

sparklyglitterball · 08/02/2018 20:34

Wow, this is all really interesting. Makes total sense that it takes up to two years to conceive in your 40's. Given that the monthly chance is around 5%. Good luck with the Chinese herbs ladies, did the NHS doctors recommended this?
