Would you limit the number of attempts you had at iui or ivf orchid?

Cleo-of course I'll let you know what advice I get. Hoping to know more by the end of the week.
Sparkly-I think Ali's clinic I'm planning to go to quoted her £600 per IUI cycle. I'm going to see if my insurance covers it by any chance. That's be nice though I'm happy to pay myself if not. It's a small price to pay for what might be...

I'd probably do 3 IUI attempts if that didn't work I'd move to ivf.

16% is still a lot better than we are getting right now! I think a natural cycle with everything in order is currently 5% or less.
How much would an IVF cycle cost?

Hi all. I'm having one last try naturally but doctor thinks my chances are 1% partly as some issues on both sides so have decided to go ahead to IVF. We'll be having ICSI where they inject one sperm into each egg. Having to go private but still a bit of a wait unfortunately so egg collection will end up being in a couple of months if all goes well. Have sort of migrated over to an IVF thread but wanted to come and share the info and wish you all luck xx

Thank you! I will check back sporadically in hope of seeing happy BFP news! A friend who is 41 and has been TTC for over a year and had a miscarriage just had 12 week scan last week and all is looking good so there is hope! x

Ahh, good luck hedgehog.....would be great to hear how you get on. Weasel, my fertile time has been over the weekend too. Have you managed any dtd at all? Hope DH feels better soon! We've actually managed once per day from last Thursday through to last night. Normally it's every other day. I'm really thinking if it's not happened this month though maybe it's time to stop. I'd like to stop ttc but continue to have unprotected sex........but I find it so hard to be really laid back about it and 'see what happens!'

I have my day 3 test tomorrow too jojo (although I will actually be day 5 but apparently that is fine).
I think it's for FSH and LH? What is triple swabs? Are you at GP or fertility clinic?

I've just seen my friends new baby, beautiful and healthy. My friend is 43. This gives me hope (and envy haha)

Oh snap. I've been trying to find results online but as usual can't really find anything. It looks like FSH needs to be less than 10? My doctor bumbles so it was difficult to catch what he was saying. He said you could detect PCOS from one of the tests which I've been diagnosed with in the past. Looking online they do estradoil on day 3 too. The swabs are to rule out infection. This is with my NHS doctor.

Yes it needs to be less than 10. Last time I had it done it was 10, so classed as boarderline. But it was done on an unknown cycle day. I am really nervous about it this time in case it has gone up

Jojo-I got a printout of my results tonight. There are quite a few things there. I tried to Google what indicates PCOS but couldn't find that amongst my results.

Were your results ok orchid? From what I've read PCOS is indicated by the ratio between fsh and amh. So both can be within range but if amh is 3 x fsh then that indicates PCOS or something like that.

I'm not sure JoJo. My FSH is 6.7 so that's fine and my AMH is 5.1 now I found somewhere that a 40 yo woman with AMH of 3.2 has a much better ovarian reserve than women her age but I also read that highly level can indicate PCOS. I just any find what's considered high at our age. How were you diagnosed with PCOS in the past, through blood test? Or ultrasound?

Lol that's what I was wondering. Sounds like my grandma except that she was 44. We also have friends that gave up trying for #2 and a long time later got drunk and boom-got pregnant at 43.

2 days late...not testing, just posting to entice AF out of her hidey hole and do her thing. 100% sure she's on her way but she's toying with me(my own fault-diet has been awful and changed multivits)
