Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Karigan-why are you saving tests? Next cycle you'll need a new reader which means you'll have to get a new pack anyway. As far as I know you can't buy the readers separately

Um because last cycle I ran out before anything happened so was thinking I’d start later. I know it was stupid.

Double checked with a cheapie and line popped straight up so it’s ttc cycle 1 time properly 😁 for sure.

Karigan1 · 26/01/2018 11:34

In all honesty I was expecting another really long post pill cycle. I didn’t expect it to snap back quite so quickly. I’ll take it as a good sign.

Cleozeta · 26/01/2018 12:03

Souunds like you timed it well karigan. Good luck!

JoJoyorker · 26/01/2018 12:36

I just found out recently that you can reuse the reader! I've been chucking them. I tend to only need 5 sticks per cycle so I get 2 uses out of each reader.

Orchid222 · 26/01/2018 12:45

Oh where did you find out that? I've read you shouldn't reuse them so I've been chucking them too.

OP posts:
JoJoyorker · 26/01/2018 12:56

There was a thread on here with someone asking if you could reuse them. I've just googled it and yes you can't will attach screenshot

JoJoyorker · 26/01/2018 12:56

Here it is

40+ ttc: 2018 full of bfp's!
Orchid222 · 26/01/2018 13:07

Oh you're right. I thought when I first started using them the instructions said use a new reader so that's what I've been doing. Never mind. I have one more pack left and might move to cheapies after that if it's true that after 40 they aren't as reliable to spot the surge early.

OP posts:
JoJoyorker · 26/01/2018 13:15

I know I did read that somewhere too so I've wasted a few

Karigan1 · 26/01/2018 13:17

Orchid, I gave cb and cheapie both reading the same today. I didn’t use the cheapie yesterday though.

I checked on the cheapie too

40+ ttc: 2018 full of bfp's!
Orchid222 · 26/01/2018 13:20

The cheapie I used a few days ago seemed behind cb by a few hours which I suppose is not a lot but still might make a difference

Af arrived today. I’m so over ttc now. I think I’m going to bow out of here. It’s been over 12 cycles over 18 months now and I’m truly fed up. I’m not saying I’m completely giving up ttc but I’m not doing another single temp, another single opk (conveniently just run out so that’ll work) or reading anything fertility related. I may pop in from time to time ladies because you’re all lovely and I’ll miss our chats but for now I think I need to de ‘focus’ away from ttc. I wish you all all the luck in the world. Much love, M x

JoJoyorker · 26/01/2018 22:50

Oh no little 😞 I thought of you earlier and checked back on your last post to see when AF was due as it was sounding really promising so I was waiting to see a post. So sorry it didn't happen this month. Sounds good to step away from it all as it really does start to take over. Hope you stay around x

Alibaba2 · 27/01/2018 08:23

I know how you feel Mimosa. I’m waiting for the fall next week. 2 weeks of feeling fine then boom, back to feeling shit for a week. Every bloody month.

Cleozeta · 27/01/2018 09:51

Sorry to hear that mimosa. It does grind you down after a while doesn't it. The hope followed by the inevitable disapointment.
Take it easy for a few months and see how you feel then

Karigan1 · 27/01/2018 11:10

Sorry to hear that mimosa :(, I’m trying very hard to not get too intent on ttc because I think it won’t happen and don’t want to want it too much. It’s depressing even at this stage.

Orchid222 · 27/01/2018 12:51

So sorry to hear mimosa! Often when people de-focus they get pregnant so hopefully we'll hear from you in not too long with much better news. All the best for now!

HappyHedgehog247 · 27/01/2018 21:23

Sending you lots of love @mimosa. It does get so disheartening, I hope some time away creates some space for you and wishing you luck. xx

Karigan1 · 28/01/2018 10:06

Well I got to say the cb advanced digital seems well on track for me. Got peak Friday but cervix not 100% soft. Cervix totally soft Saturday. Cm right Saturday and boobs were tender from Friday night.

HappyHedgehog247 · 28/01/2018 20:22

I got bfn today and all signs af is coming soon. So think I am going to start ivf straight away rather than try again.

Alibaba2 · 28/01/2018 21:24

Do you mean the cycle about to start Hedgehog (presuming you’re right)?

Orchid222 · 28/01/2018 21:40

Sorry to hear that Hedgehog. Have you done any research into it or had any initial consultations? Im wondering how you go about it. I'm only 5 dpo but can already tell its not going to happen and after 9 cycles I'm really fed up.
Ali-given how my acupuncturist said chances are low with IUI I'm wondering whether to even bother with that. I've been putting it off but will call my ob-gyn tomorrow and have a chat, probably fly over to see him and get his opinion on various options since he's got plenty of experience.
Good luck to everyone whose cycle is about to finish, hopefully someone will get a BFP this week.

HappyHedgehog247 · 28/01/2018 22:54

Hi Ali and Orchid. Yes, i mean the next cycle (I'm having to self fund and I suppose the advantage of this is low wait list). Once I am on the pill I can wait for them to be ready with the next drugs. Alternatively, I can have one more try as know they will be ready for March cycle.

I had an initial consultation and then I've had a second consent meeting where they talked through in more detail what it would involve. At my age they recommended I went straight to IVF rather than IUI.

Cleozeta · 29/01/2018 10:50

I've just been for my day 21 blood test, interestingly the nurse was telling me how surprisingly common it is to see pregnancies within our age group, especially multiples (!), it's because as our bodies come near the end of their reproductive years we often will drop more than one egg per cycle, sometimes a fair few. I found that quite reassuring, so thought I'd share!
