Ladies, the old thread has now closed so I created a new one but can't post the link, hopefully you'll find it and we can continue.

Welcome sparkly and missmars.

Orchid - I think sometimes the cheapies can miss the positive, depending on times used etc. Sounds like you probably already ov'd if it is fading now. I got +opk on Sun (1st day of peak on cbfm) and it was rapidly fading yesterday, which would have been after ov.
Finngers crossed for this month!

littlemimosa · 23/01/2018 20:34

Welcome sparkly and missmars.

sparkly - i'm the same as you, age 41, already have 2 DC, wish I was content to stop at two but am so broody. Oh and been ttc for over a year. I almost feel guilty some weeks that the vast majority of my friends/family have stopped at two and that I still wanting another, as though the two i've got aren't enough:(

14-15DPO here. Not got any HPTs and wouldn't even think of wasting my money on one until I was at least a week late, but I did do an opk (cheapie) last night as I have some in the cupboard, and it came up quite strong (but not properly positive) and so now I'm stupidly getting my hopes up even though we only dtd once at ovulation (bangs head on wall).

JoJoyorker · 23/01/2018 22:03

That sounds interesting little. Fingers crossed for you. Welcome to the new ladies. Does anyone get ovulation bleeding? I've never had it before but had a bit of brown/pink spotting earlier. I had my CB peak on Saturday. I wonder if it's ovulation or that my cervix got knocked from DTD more than normal

Alibaba2 · 24/01/2018 09:12

Fingers crossed Mimosa - how are the boobs?

Orchid222 · 24/01/2018 09:19

Mimosa-sounds promising, sometimes it only takes one go.

Thanks for the welcomes. Little, we are in a very similar boat! I was oh so relaxed and philosophical about ttc number 3, but a few weeks ago I discovered I'm borderline hypothyroidism. Having read how much this can impact on fertility, I'm now on medication to get the level at optimum for ttc and pregnancy. The meds seem to be affecting my hormones massively! I'm having pmt like I've not had since before my last baby, sore boobs, and the broodiness has ramped up so much. I recommend getting thyroid function checked if struggling to conceive, at least it's easily remedied.

sparklyglitterball · 24/01/2018 09:46

Oh and I get the guilt too, incredibly grateful to have two dc, but the overwhelming urge for another just won't go!

Cleozeta · 24/01/2018 10:00

I am the same as you two. Ttc number 3. Also getting guilt etc. But just can't drop that urge for a last baby.
Good luck mimosa, sounds promising!
Jojo - I have started getting ovulation spotting recently. I never used to. Think it's an age thing. Although I usually get it before ov, sounds like you may be post ov if your peak was saturday?

Karigan1 · 24/01/2018 10:35

I was happy with my boy until my partner went all broody. Now I want another. I think I just didn’t let myself think about it until then.

JoJoyorker · 24/01/2018 10:56

Cleo I did wonder if it was another age thing 🙄 yes I got my peak on Saturday but Monday night I noticed stabbing ovary pain and wondered if that was ovulation. I started EPO this month and like somebody said Yesterday could it have delayed my ovulation after the peak by a couple of days? In which case we didn't DTD at the right time 😩

Cleozeta · 24/01/2018 11:12

It's so hard getting the right time though! And I did read something recently that said as you get older the nearer you dtd to ov the closer your chances are to that of a younger person dtd a few days before (or something like that) so sounds like as we are older we need to time it more precisely. Which is bloody hard to do. And alongside that it is recommended to only dtd every other day to allow 'supplies' to build up properly.....

sparklyglitterball · 24/01/2018 15:29

We're aiming for dtd alternate days from when at finishes. Doesn't always happen though! This may have have been discussed before, but do any of you have a deadline for ttc? Ours was a year which we've just passed. But because of the thyroid levels we're now giving it a little longer! At some point though if it doesn't happen, I'd like to stop and be happy with our two. I can't imagine being any older than 42 when giving birth. Not that I see anything wrong with being older, but just my personal cut off I guess. More for my own sanity than anything else!

Karigan1 · 24/01/2018 15:53

No not really. I don’t feel over 40 and blessed to have a younger guy (he’s 8 years younger) whose prepared to be the stay at home anyway.

Cleozeta · 24/01/2018 16:05

I think end of 42 is my cut off, I should be happy with my 2 anyway

Alibaba2 · 24/01/2018 18:48

Orchid, at the moment I feel ok. I think my hormones are good this month. So I don’t feel too desperate about ttc. And I’m going cold on the IUI idea. But I may feel differently once AF arrives. I’m up for having another scan pre-ov to check everything plus tubes. But we haven’t had the prog or sperm test done for the IUI. How are you feeling about it?

Orchid222 · 24/01/2018 20:16

Ali, I am feeling desperate but that's probably because I only have one DC and I think I'm out for this month because I doubt my body would let me get pregnant while down with a flu so I feel like I must do something to help myself. That being said I saw my acupuncturist last night and she didn't think IUI would increase my chances much given that on paper everything seems fine with me and DH.
Are you having the scan done at the clinic? I think a scan should be the next step for me to eliminate things that wouldn't come out in blood tests.

OP posts:
Orchid222 · 24/01/2018 20:17

The acupuncturist also mentioned my gp should've offered a scan before refering us to a feetility clinic but she didn't.

Alibaba2 · 24/01/2018 20:56

I can understand and I do feel desperate a lot of the time. I don’t think flu would stop you conceiving btw. It may change ov but nothing else. Yes I’m having scan at clinic. It was to check tubes and estimate ov. I did get a scan done through GP so you could ask. It takes about 6 weeks for a referral. Have you had your blood tests done?

Karigan1 · 24/01/2018 21:30

When I got pregnant with my son I had the norovirus so it could still happen.

Can I ask you ladies how soon before ovulation do you get increased discharge. I think I’m onky Day 8 and it’s increased. Could be the evening primrose or is it early ovulation? :/

Orchid222 · 24/01/2018 21:51

Thanks ladies. I know it can still happen hence we dtd but I read online that it can affect things even stop you from ovulating that month and my acupuncturist said all the body heat from high fever isn't great as it can affect the whole cycle but also the ovaries etc so my hopes for this month are not high.
Ali- I had my bloods done last month. I need to get the results emailed or printed out so I know all the numbers I just remember my progesterone was at 91 and I'm pretty sure we timed things right and I'm still not pg :(

OP posts:
Orchid222 · 24/01/2018 21:56

Karigan- I took epo for the first time this cycle and noticed increased discharge on cd12 and my opk turned positive a whole week later but again I think this cycle is abnormal for me because of the flu so things seem delayed.

Couldn’t hold out on the not knowing so got some more clear blue advanced digitals and not even a flashing smiley face yet so phew.

Karigan1 · 25/01/2018 06:56

Thanks Orchid. That would put it about right to ovulate not far off 14 if that pattern is the same here.

JoJoyorker · 25/01/2018 09:09

I think I've relied on the CB monitors too much this month. Looking back the last couple of months I've had the peak on day 14 and felt like I ovulated on that day and all EWCM has dried up by the next day. This month I got my peak on day 12 so we DTD on day 11 and 12 and assumed I'd ovulate on that day. I actually think I still ovulated on day 14 as I still had EWCM on that day. I wonder why it peaked so early. I think I need to go by my symptoms more rather than the CB. I'm annoyed I didn't this month.

Cleozeta · 25/01/2018 09:26

I wonder sometimes if we can slip up by annalyzing things too much, I know I do!
Starting to get mega stressed out by temping. I've already ov'd so temps right now should not matter, however I am finding myself waking up several times in the night to see if it's temping time yet, and stressing (interupting my dreams) about what the result will be, and this morning I woke at 5.30, temped, worried that it was too low (I don't think it was) and temped again when I woke up at 7.30 and got a 'better' but quite different result. Now I'm wondering which one was the real one and which one i should put into FF. It's pointless as I've already ov'd so really doesn't matter!
I thiink I'm loosing the plot.
