78th day of no period....

As the title suggests, I haven't had a period since the 18th October. I came off cerazette at the start of June and have had irregular cycles since but this is by far the longest.

DH and I are TTC and I last took a pregnancy test at the start of December so I'm fairly confident I'm not pregnant (we were both sick after that and didn't have any inclination to DTD).

We finally DTD on 26th and 27th December and yesterday I had really sore breasts and some cramps and EWCM in the morning for the first time in a long time, but we only managed to DTD late last night. Im mildly cramping this morning and have watery CM. These long cycles are so confusing! Is there a chance we might've caught ovulation this month? How long should I wait before testing?

It came up on one of my many Google’s about ttc at 40 lol. It suggested it as a tracking device. Not used one myself but reading about it it might be good for this purpose. Might be worth making enquiries.

SpadesOfGlory · 06/01/2018 11:47

I just had a look. Interesting concept. But apparently the current version doesn't work for cycles longer than 35 days, so probably not worth the money.

Ahhh didn’t realise that!

Paris1986 · 06/01/2018 11:59

@SpadesOfGlory yes! It’s really tough knowing that there’s only a tiny window every month when you can conceive, and on top of that DH and I are only ever home together once or twice a week. We both work long hours so it’s hard to find the time (and energy!) to DTD as often as they recommend Sad. I’ve only recently come off the pill too so difficult to pinpoint when I’m ovulating.

Given my post yesterday afternoon I knew I wouldn’t be able to last long away from this board/thinking of pregnancy Blush

hungryradish · 06/01/2018 12:32

Yes, we have differing work schedules so it's not actually possible to dtd as much as we'd like let alone when ttc!

LifeOfRiley63 · 06/01/2018 16:35

I hear you! Trying to DTD every 2 days or so is exhausting. (mentally)
This is the state my Ovia app has been in since I started tracking. It says I am constantly in the fertile window and always 2 weeks off a pregnancy test. So frustrating.

Ok so I've tested using an ic this evening because I clearly have an obsession. I'm under no illusion that this means anything but that doesn't stop me from maybe "seeing things". I'll test again in the morning but as I have no idea or when or if I ovulated at least I can't be told off for testing too early 😂😂😂. What do you think? It's very faint - if you tip your head to the side and squint maybe there's something.... 🙄🙄🙄

Mrsw200 · 06/01/2018 18:42

Hmmm...

I think I can see a very faint line... have you got any Frets you can use in the morning?

Paris1986 · 06/01/2018 18:59

Sorry, FRERs - stupid autocorrect! Confused

Mrsw200 · 06/01/2018 19:01

Yes one left so I'll prob try that in the morning. After using so many already setting myself up for disappointment! Xxx

SpadesOfGlory · 06/01/2018 20:43

Oooh I think I can see something really really faint! Fingers crossed!!

I had a negative OPK earlier. No idea why I'm having these cramps and sore boobs if I'm not ovulating! Also BFN on an ic this morning.

Hello. Can I join? Trying to conceive DC2. Had an MC 2 years ago, been trying for 2 months, it took over three years before MC. Came off Cerazette in October. Periods two years ago were already getting shorter and closer, 4 to 5 days long with only 1 to 2 intense days, and 26-27 days apart. But always regular. Had period around 21 November, then 11 December, then nothing. Have tested twice negative. Been feeling tired, cramping for a few days and breasts a bit bigger, but nothing like when I was pregnant with DC1. I am 40 and was supposed to have blood tests to check ovulation but I can’t as I haven’t had this period rather unexpectedly. Meanwhile friends older or younger are expecting and you notice other babies more.

Mrsw200 · 07/01/2018 10:32

So... cd 77 after the very faint line yesterday I did an internet cheapie with fmu (didn't want to waste my last frer) which again showed a very faint line. So thought bugger it I'll do a frer and this is the result. Quite faint but definitely something there. I hope this gives all of your with longer cycles some hope as I had pretty much given up. Still in shock but cautiously optimistic!

Mrsw200 · 07/01/2018 10:35

If it's any help at all, other than the extra long cycle, my boobs have felt 'bruised' for the past 2 weeks, very mild cramps and feeling a little more tired.

SpadesOfGlory · 07/01/2018 10:54

@Mrsw200 congratulations!! That's definitely a line! So happy for you Grin

Your symptoms are exactly like mine, so I'll not give up hope yet!

@Mrsw200 that is a very clear definite line! Huge congratulations to you! Fantastic news and it gives the rest of us hope Smile

Paris1986 · 07/01/2018 11:08

Congratulations @Mrsw200!

Mrsw200 · 07/01/2018 11:09

Thank you, I 100% expected a bfn this morning. Completely shocked. So it is entirely possible to ovulate extremely late. Good luck to all of you xxxx

hungryradish · 07/01/2018 12:08

Oh wow congrats! @mrsw200
Do you have any idea how far along you are?

Mrsw200 · 07/01/2018 12:11

@hungryradish thank you xx no idea at all, only that I was having more obvious symptoms such as sore boobs from about 2 weeks ago. I stopped doing opks early on in this cycle as I got fed up of the negatives. As I had a bfn only last week on a frer I would assume I just ovulated really late. If I use a due date calculator judging by my last period puts me at 10 weeks which can't possibly be right! Xx

hungryradish · 07/01/2018 12:46

Awww such a lovely surprise though :) that's the problem with how they usually calculate it. If a bfn last week must be quite early on still! Gives us all hope on this thread I think x

Mrsw200 · 07/01/2018 13:00

Definitely gives you all hope. We'd only dtd once a week since the 18th Dec probably even missing a week as I had a rotten cold. Before the 18th we hadn't dtd since 6th Dec as DP had man flu and our dog was really poorly so was not in the mood whatsoever. So the impossible is possible, very little dtd, very long cycle, and no obvious ovulation symptoms. Xx

LifeOfRiley63 · 07/01/2018 16:51

@MrsW200 Arrrgh what fabulous news!! I'm mega jealous but also hugely made up for you xxxxxx

LifeOfRiley63 · 07/01/2018 16:53

Welcome @futuremum!
Your body does change as you get older. I am finding it harder to get pregnant than last time which was completely by mistake. Fx for you, but it sounds like your symptoms are quite positive. When did you last test? X
