78th day of no period....

As the title suggests, I haven't had a period since the 18th October. I came off cerazette at the start of June and have had irregular cycles since but this is by far the longest.

DH and I are TTC and I last took a pregnancy test at the start of December so I'm fairly confident I'm not pregnant (we were both sick after that and didn't have any inclination to DTD).

We finally DTD on 26th and 27th December and yesterday I had really sore breasts and some cramps and EWCM in the morning for the first time in a long time, but we only managed to DTD late last night. Im mildly cramping this morning and have watery CM. These long cycles are so confusing! Is there a chance we might've caught ovulation this month? How long should I wait before testing?

GPs aren’t always that good on fertility issues. Yes the reason you aren’t ovulating maybe coming off the pull but whatever the reason the cause of your lack of/irregular periods is the lack of ovulation. If it was me I would fix it rather than wait but you do what you think best as you know your body and circumstances best

SpadesOfGlory · 03/01/2018 12:29

Thanks. I'll get an appointment in the pipeline then....routine appointments are like 3 or 4 weeks in advance here.

@Rainbowsandflowers78 That article is actually really informative - thank you!

SpadesOfGlory · 03/01/2018 13:49

Thanks for that article, just had a read and it has lots of useful info!

Tbh I'm getting a little anxious that there actually might be something medically wrong Confused .

@SpadesOfGlory I'm the same Shock

LifeOfRiley63 · 03/01/2018 14:10

@SpadesofGlory I asked my GP about my periods and she said it can take 6-12 months for them to regulate again. She said after 12 months if there's nothing to go and see her. I'm not sure if GPs will help before 12 months? I'm the same as you though. I'm going to try and lose some weight and not be as stressed (easier said than done) like that article suggests.

jellybeans81 · 03/01/2018 18:51

@Rainbowsandflowers78 really interesting article. If no AF within the next few weeks, I'll definitely make an appointment. Unfortunately time isn't on my side

hungryradish · 03/01/2018 23:00

Hi, I'm in the same boat too. CD55 at the moment with no signs of anything going on. Like someone else said, I'd really rather something/anything happen at this point! Hate having no control & not knowing what's going on...its so frustrating isn't it.

SpadesOfGlory · 03/01/2018 23:31

@LifeOfRiley63 that's kinda what I thought myself, that they wouldn't be bothered until a year had passed. I'm 27 so they'd probably tell me I've loads of time and not to worry Confused

I honestly thought I'd be all cool about TTC and not let it stress me, but I've suddenly realised how much id love to have a baby and it's so frustrating that it's not happening as easily as I imagined. So naive I know.

@SpadesOfGlory Snap! I swear we are the same person. Grin
I've been holding off TTC until we got into a decent financial/work situation. Now that we've made the decision I want it to happen straight away. Like someone said earlier, if I'd known it would take this long for things to regulate I'd have come off Cerelle a LOT earlier. I'm certainly not keen on going back on the pill in future if it buggers about with your body this much.
It's certainly frustrating and hard to put to the back of your mind. I have sneakily been buying baby things like nappies and furniture bits that will hide away easily.
Never thought I'd say this but I'd actually welcome AF just to know I'm still functioning!

SpadesOfGlory · 04/01/2018 09:50

@LifeOfRiley63 haha we was so similar!

I've already told DH that I'm never going back on the pill. He's ok with that because I thinks he's seen first hand how it's messed me up! I'm surrounded by pregnancy announcements and babies at the minute too so makes it harder to ignore. My mum has already got a room full of baby stuff that she's keeping "for the grandkids" haha!

I've been feeling crampy for the last few days which hasn't happened for a while...like you said, I just wish AF would show up already so I can start counting again!!

Hang in there @SpadesOfGlory - we'll get knocked up this year I'm sure of it! Star
(And then we'll have the worst symptoms and regret the decision lol!) Grin

SallyGardens · 04/01/2018 09:55

My first was born exactly 50 weeks after my LAMP - I have PCOS and ovulated on CD 81 or 82.

My other two were conceived with Metformin only, though ovulation was still "late", on CD 21 both times.

Exactly. We started TTC when we were ready for a baby, not when we were ready to have loads of BFNs! It's only been about 6 weeks since we actively started (though quite a bit longer since I came off the pill) and it's already driving me mad - constantly overthinking the smallest twinge or feeling Sad I'm sure 2018 will be the year for all of us though Wink

Mrsw200 · 04/01/2018 10:18

@SallyGardens thanks so much for that. It's nice to hear a positive story from someone also with excessively long irregular cycles but with a happy ending. Made me smile anyway after having such a rubbish time of it lately, especially having to resign myself to the fact that I probably am not ovulating at all - therefore it shows I can be possible, albeit a small chance. What fantastic news that must have been for you. SmileSmile

LifeOfRiley63 · 04/01/2018 10:34

@Paris1986 Symptom spotting is the worst. It makes you feel mentally exhausted too doesn't it?
@SallyGardens Thats really good to know. There's hope for us yet!

I was pregnant (accident) 3 years ago and didn't realise until i was 4-6 weeks. Unfortunately I couldn't follow it through. Now it feels like I'm being punished. Sad

Paris1986 · 04/01/2018 10:38

@LifeOfRiley63 yes it really does! I honestly never thought I would be like this. The plan was to just stop preventing pregnancy but here I am constantly wondering. According to Ovia and the ovulation calendar thing on here I was supposedly fertile the last couple of days/tomorrow, and I had cramps. So DTD last night (sorry if TMI!). Now no symptoms but I'm wondering when I should take a test! It's crazy. Confused

LifeOfRiley63 · 04/01/2018 10:54

@Paris1986

Haha my Ovia app hasn't a clue whats going on. I've been in the fertile window for the 2 months I've been using it because I've not had AF yet! Grin

Paris1986 · 04/01/2018 11:13

@LifeOfRiley63

I doubt mine does too! I keep telling myself it's right (though I'm not sure I should be relying on an app as much as I do)!

Mrsw200 · 05/01/2018 13:05

Anyone had any progress? Af or bfps?? Nothing here still bruised boobs cramps and generally feeling off. Tested yesterday with a frer but stark white bfn. Although I know there's very little chance I still can't resist testing! Around cd76 now. Anyone else have symptoms that they are reading far too much into like me?!? Confused

Paris1986 · 05/01/2018 13:22

Sadly not here - I keep thinking something isn't right, but it could just be me reading into everything! I'm only 1 or 2 DPO so going to try and hold out until I'm at least due before testing. DH thinks I should test sooner though. Hoping to stay strong-willed unless I get any much clearer symptoms; at the moment only cramps, needing the loo a lot and slight backache yesterday. Unless I mis-calculated then I can't be pregnant from this cycle anyway. Fingers crossed for you Mrsw200, maybe test again in the morning?

Mrsw200 · 05/01/2018 13:38

@Paris1986 yes I've got some cheapies so will keep testing daily. I'm going to wait until 2 missed periods, based on 2 x longest cycles (43days) so cd 86 before I ring the gps. I still think they'll just say it's a result of coming off the pill but I'll ring them anyway. Good luck to you, try and keep yourself busy over next few days - easier said than done I know xx

Faintlinesquints · 05/01/2018 13:44

May I join please? Frustrated here too, cd53 no af and bfn this morning.
I've not been on any contraception, I jut have strangely long cycles, usually around 6 weeks though so this is long, even for me!

Paris1986 · 05/01/2018 13:48

@Mrsw200 I have one cheapy Tesco one left, but don't want to drive myself round the bend by using it and getting a BFN (which I'm 99% sure I'll get!). Going to try and keep myself busy this weekend, but how busy can cleaning the house keep you!? Only got 14 whole days to go... this is so much tougher than I ever imagined. All the best to you as well, hope you get the result you want really soon Grin
