I am a woman possessed- 9dpo, countless tests wasted, af due 8th Jan!

I can't control myself. I know it's way too early and yet I ignore all rational thoughts XD

I am now fresh out of tests and have learnt I cannot have any in my house! ConfusedHmm

MissSophieB397 · 02/01/2018 13:27

@BubblesPls ha ha you are just like the rest of us! I'm also due to test the 9th, I'm going to test on the 9th and then a week after if neg as my periods can be irregular. I've bought tons of cheapies though for when I can't hold it in any longer.. although I've done well so far 😂 keep trooping on

Ok, I’m going to test later today so, will use a FRER. Trying not to get my hopes up though, have had no symptoms whatsoever, except for a weird pulling feeling in my stomach a couple of weeks ago, not sure if it’s even related but I never felt it before we started TTC so it’s the only thing I can link it to.

nk1605 · 02/01/2018 15:02

Mind if I join? Got my positive OPK yesterday (CD14) so will dtd one last time tonight. Ideally I would like to dtd again tomorrow as well to try cover as many fertile days as possible but dp is exhausted (I think we started too early on cd9!) I had a chemical pg last cycle so hoping if we are lucky enough again this time it sticks!

Anyone on here using OPKs, do you stop using OPKs after you get your first positive?

MissSophieB397 · 02/01/2018 15:11

@JuniperKane do a fmu tomorrow so you have a better chance of a clearer bfp! 🤗

@nk1605 sorry for your chem preg, wish you the best of luck for TTC 💞

@MissSophieB397 Sorry if this is an obvious question, am new to this, what’s FMU?

bubblybrit · 02/01/2018 15:29

@juniperkane. FMU is first morning urine. The concentration of the pregnancy hormone is said to be stronger then.

BubblesPls · 02/01/2018 16:02

@nk1605 I would recommend stopping the OPK once you have a positive. I'm using clear blue advanced and clear blue reg and the advanced stays with a smiley for 48 hours I believe so you can't test anyway. Take that positive and DTD 😜

@MissSophieB397 FX we find good distractions until next week and we get BFP's all round!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼
X

nk1605 · 02/01/2018 16:06

Thanks @MissSophie. Fx for lots more sticky BFPs this month!

nk1605 · 02/01/2018 16:54

@BubblesPls yep I will stop now otherwise I'll just stress if it stays positive for a while and we aren't dtd!

JuniperKane · 02/01/2018 17:30

So went to the shop and they only had Clear Blue not FRER, then when I got home I didn’t have the willpower to wait until the morning, did the test and got a BFN.

Bee4S · 02/01/2018 17:56

So no idea how many DPO, my OPK did not give any + results but I only had enough tests for for CD13-17 so don't know if I OVd late?! But going to try to wait until AF arrives or not to test because I'm afraid that if I didn't OV this month I will be down in the dumps longer before next FW... the joys of TTC

bubblybrit · 02/01/2018 18:10

Was it clearblue digital @juniperkane?

JuniperKane · 02/01/2018 18:24

@bubblybrit Yes, that was the only one they had in the shop

JuniperKane · 02/01/2018 18:25

@bubblybrit Does that make a difference?

bubblybrit · 02/01/2018 19:17

@juniperkane. The digitals aren’t as sensitive so wouldn’t be too disheartened. I’d try again in a few days to see if you get a different result! It’s quite common to get a negative on a digital but a positive on a FRER for instance. The digitals need a higher level of hcg to show a positive so in early pregnancy your hcg level could be too low on a digital to pick up before especially if you are testing before AF due.

MissSophieB397 · 02/01/2018 20:04

@JuniperKane as she said below, they aren't as sensitive for HCG! Get a frer when you can and try that with fmu 😊 don't be disheartened - you've definitely still got a chance for a BFP x

The fact that I’m on CD37 and no AF and a BFN makes me think that I might just be having one of my random long cycles, every now and then I have a 40 day cycle.
So does that mean that I ovulated later than say a 33 day cycle?
33/34 Days is my average according to my apps, but over the last 4 years me cycles are anything from 28 to 40 days in length. Because if I ovulated later than expected then we probably didnt DTD at the right time at all.

nk1605 · 02/01/2018 21:50

@JuniperKane from what I have read, your follicular phase can vary, but your luteal phase will more or less stay the same. E.g. If you have a 14 day LP, you will have a 14 day LP if you ovulated early (meaning you had a shorter cycle) or later (giving you a longer cycle). Hope that makes sense! I could be wrong but I have read up a bit on it recently. So I would say if you are having a longer cycle, you ovulated late.

Chelseaj · 02/01/2018 23:23

6dpo symptom spotting like you wouldn't believe my back hurts I'm exhausted and nauseous. Trying not to stress myself out my testing too early.

JuniperKane · 03/01/2018 00:36

Thanks everyone for all the info. Will test in another couple of days if still no AF, suppose I’ve realised now that if my cycle length is unpredictable I need to DTD as much as possible, might try another cycle and then consider getting some OPK’s

TheIntrovertedMum · 03/01/2018 07:23

I'm out, AF reared her head this morning as expected. The positive I'm taking away from it is that I only stopped my pill in November so it's good my cycles are falling back into place quickly. Eating well and exercising for January so hope that helps with TTC this month.

GL to you all and congrats to everyone who has gotten/gets their BFPs 💖💖

littlepooch · 03/01/2018 07:27

Morning all

9dpo here and a very definite bfn on an ic this morning. I knew it would be but i just couldn't resist testing just in case

I've been in the ttc game long enough to know id never get a positive this early! Consoling myself that I haven't bought any frers so can't waste them at least! I don't mind wasting ics and these are left over from my last stash.

Still cramping here and I also feel very very hot and having rubbish sleep which are all signs AF must be on her way.

Have a good day all and fx we get some bfps soon!

littlepooch · 03/01/2018 07:29

Sorry introvertedmum that AF got you. As you say things are probably settling down and fingers crossed for January! I need to do some healthy eating pretty sharpish too!

cookielove · 03/01/2018 08:14

Can I join; I know I am somewhere in the tww, dh keeps swinging in and out of wanting ttc and we really currently trying as it was a suprise to start I was not tracking or anything. I think I am due on mid Jan ish
