I won't test until I'm late if I'm late that is. It's only first month of trying xx

MissSophieB397 · 01/01/2018 16:05

@Brownbear84 yeah I'm with you on this! Least then it won't be as disheartening if AF did show up - although it's always a downer ☹️ when is your AF due?

@Kayleigh1986 I'm due around the 9/10th! Gonna be a long few days 😩 I had a mc also in October, I was 8 weeks. I started straight after too but AF showed on 14th Dec so hopefully this will be our month! Fx for you x

@kayleigh1986, think we are due AF around the same time. Those symptoms all sound really positive, they were my first symptoms last pregnancy. No symptoms here but early days I guess.

@brownbear84 and @missophieb397 well done for being so disciplined! Is it both your first cycle?

MissSophieB397 · 01/01/2018 19:58

@mascaraisamust yeah it's my first cycle! I lost my last pregnancy at 8 weeks back on the 26th of October, had my AF in December and I'm about 5dpo 😊

Brownbear84 · 01/01/2018 20:08

Yep first cycle came of my pill November had withdrawal bleed and then came on 18th December first period was shocked! Thought it would take months! Started ovulation tests and ovulated day 13 so I'm hoping as everything has returned to normal quick it won't take too long. Xx

Brownbear84 · 01/01/2018 20:09

Oh and af is due 15th January xx

TheIntrovertedMum · 01/01/2018 20:44

Clutching at straws I know but what are the chances the thrush I've developed is the cause of the spotting and not AF on her way?

The last time I was pregnant I had horrendous thrush in early pregnancy and have never had it any other time. AF due on Wednesday and I've had some spotting today I've put it down to AF coming but I don't know what to think 🤔

Twiglet2511 · 01/01/2018 21:00

@TheIntrovertedMum I've just started spotting too. 10dpo but it's dark red so I suspect it's AF trying to rear her ugly head. It's bloody Sod's law that I went and spent £25 on HPTs this afty! The cheek of it!! 🙈

webster144 · 01/01/2018 21:33

Can I join?!

I’m on cycle #3 TTC since my mc at 5 weeks which happened mid Oct.

I’m currently 8dpo today (ive been using OPKs and Flo app) and clutching at straws :( We’ve been following the SMEP since my first period back after mc with no luck so far...I’ve also been having little to no discharge since my mc and been quite dry, along with spotting a week before my period is due and I’m a bit concerned I have low progesterone but I’m yet to speak to the gp....

By this time last time I had already had obvious IB and was feeling very nauseous everyday with lots of other weird symptoms and from very early on just “knew” I was pregnant!

So far since ovulation, I’ve been having strange vivid dreams, bloating and cramping, some mild backache, no increase of discharge but the discharge has been slightly watery (sorry TMI) and one thing that has stood out was leg cramps in my thighs at night time. I had this last time before I got my BFP so I’m hoping this is possibly a sign! I have my fingers crossed but not feeling very hopeful as my boobs don’t feel any different alongside no other major symptoms and I don’t have that “feeling” like I had before Sad

I wish everyone the best of luck and can’t wait to hear of any BFPs on here in the coming week or two! Smile xx

webster144 · 01/01/2018 21:34

TheIntrovertedMum I had horrendous thrush last time at about 5dpo then got my BFP a week later! Unfortunately turned into a mc but it was definitely a sign for me x

TheIntrovertedMum · 01/01/2018 22:02

@webster144 have you ever spotted because of it?

webster144 · 01/01/2018 22:07

TheIntrovertedMum I've never spotted from it, but I had creamy discharge after ovulation and then around 5dpo I had horrible thrush and went to boots and got a tablet to take, I felt awful after I got my BFP as apparently thrush treatment isn't recommended when pregnant but I genuinely had no idea ! Have you got any other symptoms? How many DPO are you? x

littlepooch · 01/01/2018 22:15

Can I join? 7dpo and I'm driving myself mad. I did an ic this afternoon and of course bfn. I don't know why I do this to myself!

I was feeling pretty confident for some reason but today I've had bad cramps and absolutely awful mood swings so if that isn't a sign AF is coming I don't know what is! But it's all I can think about and I keep veering from hope to despair. God I sound mental don't I Grin

xLeanne128 · 01/01/2018 22:17

Hi hope you don't mind me joining. Flo says I'm 10 days from my AF, I think I'm just out of my ovulation stage but struggled with OPKs so can't be sure on this we've been DTD just incase. I'm currently having pains like AF pains and pains in my pelvis and legs also had headaches. Just wondering if this sounds like a good sign or if I'm just driving myself insane. TIAxx

user1497038646 · 01/01/2018 22:52

Hi ladies first time posting so forgive me - we've been ttc for 11 months following a traumatic mc in 2015 - (was hospitalised 3 times)
I'm 7dpo, I get horrendous ovulation pains so 100% that it's 7dpo. DTD(do the deed)on O(ovulation)day, and the 4 days prior.
However, both yesterday morning 6dpo and this morning 7dpo I've felt really sick, I mean REALLY sick that it woke me up this morning! i've also been getting a pinching like pain in my lower left abdomen and i feel really lethargic.
There's loads of lurgys going round at work so just wondering whether it's possible to have sickness this early or whether I'm coming down with a bug....
AF(Aunt Flo - menstruation/period)is due 9th - which is hubbys bday.... so would be a lovely little surprise but don't want to get my hopes up - any thoughts? x

TheIntrovertedMum · 02/01/2018 06:31

@webster144 sorry about your mc btw! I had a mc in Feb at 8 weeks and we've only started ttc again this month!

I'm 13dpo today and it seems spotting has gone away but thrush most deffo hasn't! Can't wait for shops to open to get something to sort it out!!

I only had it in pregnancy with my DD not my mc pregnancy so I'm hoping it's a good sign and the spotting was just random.

I did test at 11dpo but I've never had an early bfp so I will wait it out til tomorrow/Thursday and see if the witch comes [santa]

MissSophieB397 · 02/01/2018 07:18

Hi guys who have joined!

From what most of you have wrote, the honest best way to know if it's your month or not is to test with frer if you want to do it earlier, but to avoid disappointment I'd try stick it out til after af is due. I've learnt my lesson after numerous times of testing too early in previous months!!

It is a killer but it's the best way 😊

Is this your first cycles ? And ttc #1?

OP posts:
littlepooch · 02/01/2018 08:19

Hi misssophie you are absolutely right - it took me 18 months to conceive my eldest daughter and yep - other than a bfp there is no way of knowing! I symptom spotted my heart out those months of trying and some months was absolutely convinced I was pregnant!

Woken up this morning with the most awful lower back pain - only on the right side. I must have slept funny but ouch it hurts. For a moment I thought oooh implantation - silly billy me :)

webster144 · 02/01/2018 11:07

Hi MissSophie, we are trying to conceive #1 and this is my 3rd cycle after my mc mid Oct as we started ttc again straight away.

Symptom spotting is so hard to resist - I've been trying to act like I don't care this month and tried to take a less crazy approach to ttc this month as I feel the last few months I've tried loads...SMEP, preseed and lots of other strange advice found online like eating pineapple from 1-5dpo amongst others.

Praying this is my month, AF is due on the 9th. I don't have some of the symptoms I had last time before my BFP (I got my BFP 3 days before my due period on a CB digital) and still haven't had any sign of IB but I'm holding out hope as I know each pregnancy can be different.
Wishing everyone the best of luck! x

MissSophieB397 · 02/01/2018 11:25

@littlepooch it's so hard to not test early but I've stuck to my guns this month! I'm going to do a frer on the 9th as my period is due 14th so all being well it may be a BFP!

@webster144 its way too easy to symptom spot and test early isn't it, but I do hope this could be the month I do just feel at ease and calm which is totally off for me as I'm always stressing with TTC ! Fx it's our month! 💞

11dpo and cd26 Of 28/29 and BFN on a FRER this morning :( have a feeling I’m out this month, it’s heartbreaking x

Brownbear84 · 02/01/2018 12:15

Why do people test early?? I'm a bit baffled. Why not wait till your period is late then test? Setting yourself up for a dissapoint can't be any good xx

bubblybrit · 02/01/2018 12:36

@brownbear84. Not meaning to sound rude but it is easy to say that when you are only on your first cycle of ttc. There are many ladies here who have been ttc for a lot longer and becoming a mummy is all they can think about. So any rational thoughts completely go out the window! I am relatively new to this myself (only second cycle) and I tested early at 10DPO and got a BFN. I’m now trying to hold off until later this week but I’m finding it really challenging. So can only imagine how others must feel that have been trying a whole lot longer than me. It’s easy to become a poas addict! Xx

JuniperKane · 02/01/2018 12:43

Hi all, first time posting, we are in our first month of TTC. I’ve been using Cycle tracking apps for years because my cycles are a bit irregular, anything from 27 to 40 days, working out at an average of 33 or 34 days depending on which app I look at. Since TTC I’ve added a couple of conception apps to my phone and inputted all of my cycles from the last two years. I know this might seem a bit much but wanted to get as much info as possible considering how varied my cycles can be.
So according to all of my different apps AF was due anywhere from the 28 th to the 30th. I haven’t tested yet because I was convinced there was no way we could conceive on our first attempt, plus I just didn’t ‘feel’ pregnant. But now here I am, Day 37 of my cycle and still no AF, again it’s not unusual for me to have a Cycle this length so does anyone think it’s worth my while to test or should I wait another couple of days?

bubblybrit · 02/01/2018 12:55

@juniperkane. My cycles also vary in length. Usually between 30-36 days. I got a positive opk on CD18. Tested at 10dpo and got a BFN. Now trying to hold off until later this week and test again with a FRER as they can detect 6 days prior to your missed period. So I’d go for it if your cycles are definitely no more than 40 days. Would use a FRER though as IC and digitals are not as sensitive so usually take longer to pull through a positive result. Good luck xx
