Thought I'd start January bus as spotting has started today

Here's my stats

Age 29
Ttc #1
Cycle 13
Currently cd28 at due next couple of days
Next af/bfp due 4th January

Planning to do the sperm meets egg plan this month. Looking forward to af finishing already!

@LookingAtTheStars89. Yeah I’ll defo let you know....might use the cheapies to test in the afternoon as I’m worried I’m missing my surge by only using fmu! Although not sure I’ll be able to avoid going to the toilet for 4-5 hours....oh I do hope you have some positive news for us all 🙂 fingers (and toes) crossed for you!

I take it he caved in in the end 😁🎉 for me it was my partner who’s broody ( my kids are from prev relationships, my 1st 3’s dad died). DP has no kids of his own yet and wants them now it took a year of persuading for me to get broody again lol x

Well it took two years of me crying explaining . In the past I've taken it all for granted but I'm terrified this time, but let's hope 2018 is the year for us all

I'm hoping for a January BFP (even though I know that's highly optimistic) I've finally decided to try again after my MC in Feb last year. AF came today so I'll be hearing myself up for some Christmas fun

It would be kind of amazing if I fell pregnant around Christmas again as I conceived on 23rd December last year (I only know the exact date as it was the first time we BD'd after DD was born in Oct )

AF ended today so I'm going to start OPK and temping this month! Partly because I'm a control freak and partly because I hate the unknown in the TTW as to whether I even ovulated! This is all still new to me so if you have any advice please let me know! Sad to see some familiar name from the December bus but fx for the new year bumps! There seems to be a lot of us due af on New Year's Day!

Hey @SpongeCake yes we have v similar stats too! It’s weird because being 28 you’d think everything would probably happen quite quickly but here we are cycle 5/6 and I’m getting more nervous each day that passes!

I had a bit of a meltdown with this AF as we really did dtd so much around Ov (+opk and temp rise) that I was so hopeful. Not sure what I can take from that except well either the sperm aren’t making it to where they need to be or they just didn’t gel for whatever reason when they met..

Just started spotting so joining here as af will show tomorrow

@Fruitandnutty Exactly the same for us! It must be something like that as you said...or the quality of sperm/egg wasn't good enough. Everything has to be so perfect doesn't it?!

I'm going to use pre-seed applicators next month and see how they work...maybe my CM isn't ideal for the sperm to reach the egg! It needs to be a very specific consistency apparently!

I just don't understand it. I came on today - day 28 of cycle! Pretty much dead on perfect.

I don't know what we're doing wrong. I have a textbook cycle. 28 days on the dot and ovulating around day 14/15! Argh! Frustrating...

Argh @SpongeCake23 I feel your frustrations which I go through every month and I try not to overthink things but it's hard isn't it. I'm so determined this month i swear!

@spongecake123 and @fruitandnutty I totally get what you're saying... when you're sure you ovukated and thst you dtd at the right time loads... why a bfn?? So frustrating but something which so many of us go through!!
I'm going to try acupuncture next I think. I'm also wondering if low body temperature makes a difference (Even if getting temp rise with ovulation)...

My partner is 36 and I'm 28. I know it's silly, but I'm worried the longer it goes on, the older he's getting and maybe he'll get too old I know I'm probably being irrational.

Yes I'm with you there @SpongeCake23 I'm 29 and my partner is 43 (Lol don't ask it's a long story and yes he does believe his Christmas all came at once) anyway it is a concern for me I've also not wanted to approach the subject as he's already got two from previous so obviously it's not him, right? We've been ttc for a year. You?

Then I remember the Hoff having a kid at like 52 lol

@owlpatrol @spongecake well if it makes you feel better my dh is 27 (a year younger than me) and we’re in the same boat! I’m not sure for men if age really makes much difference.. I know lots of my friends dads are much older than their OHs.

I’m currently on first day of proper AF and drinking red wine and eating brie while writing my Xmas cards! There has to be some upsides right?

Very confused... just did an ovulation test as period ended yesterday and, while it's not positive, there are two lines and it looks like ov is on the way! This hasn't happened to me before until almost ov day which seems to be cd15-17 for me. Im only on cd7 right now!! Anyone else had ovulation so close to period? Also random weirdness with period this month - it was normal for a day then totally stopped for a day or two, then restarted very lightly. I'm usually really regular and consistent so am confused. Anyone else had this... am I broken? :/

@surreygirl1987 I think I'm ovulating around day 9. Didn't think that could happen - assumed it was standard day 14 as I'm a 27/28 day cycle, but apparently it can happen. Hopefully knowing that will help us!

@surreygirl1987 I've read that there is a small lh surge just after af week then it builds up again for ovulation x

It's nice to see some new faces, and I'm sorry to see some familiar faces here too.

Ovia and Flo are predicting that I will next ovulate on Christmas Day, which could be interesting!

I'm struggling quite a bit now, and I knew Christmas would be difficult. Everywhere I look there are children enjoying all the Christmas fun, and the quiet in our house by comparison is really stark. I'm trying to distract myself as much as possible, but that also hurts because I actually quite like Christmas! How are you all coping?
