January Bus - New Year, New Bumps Please!

Hi all

Thought I'd start January bus as spotting has started today

Here's my stats

Age 29
Ttc #1
Cycle 13
Currently cd28 at due next couple of days
Next af/bfp due 4th January

Planning to do the sperm meets egg plan this month. Looking forward to af finishing already!

I do wonder if all these 'one time wonders' really get pregnant as quickly as they say they do. According to a friend, some people (e.g. her sister) imply that it 'just happened' but we're actually trying for quite a while. Hard to know for sure.

Yeah I’m starting to get a little suspicious as well @surreygirl1987. Seems as if it’s happening all the time. So starting to think I’m doing something wrong even although I’m only on cycle 2! It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one that doesn’t fall pg at the drop of a hat lol 🙂

I foolishly said ages ago I wanted two close in age. Now everyone keeps asking when the second one will be arriving 🙄

I am using the Ovia app which I used last time & both of us are taking well man/ well woman. My sister is pregnant & my NCT bestie just announced she is pregnant with no2, first month of trying!

I'm quite lucky, most of my friends have either had one or two already, or are just settling down and are house focused at the moment. The only person close to me who is pregnant at the moment is my best friend. I think she took about 4 or 5 months to fall.

Yes - most of my friends are single randomly even though we're 30 (very wrapped up in their high flying London careers) so I'm thankfully not likely to be baby bombed by them! My brothers are both married and I think one or them is trying or soon to be and I know it would be hard if they fall and I take forever... but I guess the same would be true of them in reverse. So hard for anyone who's trying really isn't it! Such an emotional journey. Had no idea!!

I’ve got the perfect excuse as I’m the nominated driver for the majority of xmas day! It’s New Year’s Eve that I will struggle with as going to a huge party.....hoping I’ll be able to test that morning and a) get a positive and celebrate with sparkling water or b) drown my sorrows with a few bottles of prosecco!

I am easing drinking next two weeks whilst we are dtd and during fw then I plan to have a few on Xmas party night then probably not drink again till xmas dinner but I've stopped getting too drunk last few months anyway. Spotting still not properly started for me af should be here tomorrow

Still no sodding af over here!! It was due yesterday or today. Instead I've just had more brown spotting. This whole ttc shit is turning me so miserable! It doesn't help that as my first two dc were conceived quickly without a problem or second thought, the general attitude from all our family is that we are super fertile and it'll happen quickly again after we lost our little boy in June. But no, here we are in December, unpregnant

My cycles are a bit all over the show so the date is a bit of a guess.

I think I am next due AF on or around 1st Jan but depends on how long my cycle is this time. I am planning to drink over Christmas but not lots - Christmas Day, then Boxing Day lunch and will be designated driver for New Years, which means no rugby drinks at the New Year's Eve match (boo). I'm not the biggest of drinkers anyway - food has always been my thing 😔

I hardly drink anyway so I'm sure nobody will notice! Will probablt have a drink and dip it mega slowly or maybe stick to soft drinks... not a big lifestyle change for me!

I don't drink much either but would like a glass or two around Christmas. I'll only be a week or so out of my fertile window but I'm thinking that would be okay?

Although it's only month 2, I've already convinced myself I'm now too old, blah blah blah, so need a healthy dose of reality please!

Ah @Fia256 sending virtual hugs it's pretty shitty isn't it I've still got random spotting the same hoping for af tomorrow probably and then depression for a week till fw again but feeling sorry for myself tonight and feeling like it's never going to happen struggling to find positivity at the moment

No clue about cycle as my body is all over the place, had a 7 week period before getting seriously anemic and being put on the pill. Now got that under control and came off the pill middle of November. Going to attempt to see what happens and be calm about it AF started today so hopefully it will be a normal length.

Welcome all the new joiners to this crazy bus!

@whiningandwining. I’m 33 (almost 34!) and ttc#1. I convinced myself I had left it way too late as well (esp after listening to my parents who are getting impatient that no grandchild as yet!). Created a separate thread and the support I got was amazing. Made me realise that there are many women conceiving mid to late 30s! So gonna stay positive 🙂

Emelene - I don’t think one or two glasses will make much difference. My friend (who had been ttc for many years before falling pg with ivf) went about her usual routine until she tested positive! And that included a glass of wine or two occasionally! I’m just struggling with New Year as it’s usually a pretty heavy night lol as all friends come together with partners and we sometimes only see each other once per year as a few have moved out with the UK. So unusual if I had no drinks/just one or two!!
