January Bus - New Year, New Bumps Please!

Hi all

Thought I'd start January bus as spotting has started today Sad

Here's my stats

Age 29
Ttc #1
Cycle 13
Currently cd28 at due next couple of days
Next af/bfp due 4th January

Planning to do the sperm meets egg plan this month. Looking forward to af finishing already!

I know what everyone means...it feels like everyone else I know just falls pg straight away or by accident and here I am trying to time everything perfectly, opks, temping etc and still nothing. It's so frustrating but it's good to know we're not alone

I haven't lost a baby before so I'm not sure how you are feeling however I'm a very empathic person and I feel your pain.

I felt so strange today holding a new born. On the one hand I was super happy but on the other I was so how can I say "numb " as if I was a ghost or something during the whole process. It was so strange I'm almost beyond broody now. Is that even a thing?

Oh ladies I am sorry to hear about your losses.

I have PCOS, when I conceived my dd I did acupuncture, took Angus castus to try and regulate my cycle. Went away for a month to Australia, didn’t do any opk or take vitamins. Did a test at day 30, BFN, continued on with drinking, arrived home feeling awful at day37 had a bfp. I guess the purpose of me telling you is, whilst it is deflating to get BFN / AF, it will happen and try to be relaxed. (Need to practice what I preach as I am terrible symptom spotter during the 2ww). I was hoping pregnancy would have reset my system & I would fall pregnant easily but now on cycle 4. However I leave for Australia on weds so hoping for an Aussie conception 🤣

DC1 is 7. Born at 31 weeks due to me developing HELLP syndrome. GP said there's a 1 in 3 chance of getting it again in my next pregnancy. Have since been diagnosed with PCOS. Have recently lost over a stone which I hope will help.

Periods are almost non-existent when on contraception, but very heavy and painful but regular when not. I'm bracing myself for the horrendous acne I'll be getting now I'm off the Pill Grin AF due this week, then we'll begin trying for our second! Eek!

@zooz. I know what you mean about the acne after coming off bc! Mine was horrendous initially but it’s starting to settle a little now. Not away but a million times better! Keep telling myself it will be worth it to have a little one in my arms. Especially being my first 🙂

I will jump in as well even though it's our first month trying. I missed the previous cycle fertile window but in about 2 weeks will be able to try. I'm not expecting anything after first try but excited (and terrified as well) about the idea so we will see... who knows may get a surprise in the new year...

I had the same problem with acne. Took ages to settle (had been put on the pill as a treatment for acne when I was a teenager) but really found the Liz Earle cleanser to be helpful for settling my skin down.

CD4 over here today and my horrendous mood swings have now evened out. The postman brought a BBT and some OPKs for me today. With OPKs, when are you meant to use them? Are they a FMU thing?

@LoveTheBear85. It depends on what OPKs you have purchased. Clearblue state that you should use FMU. Some think that the LH surge is too low to detect in the morning so suggest using them in the afternoon. However you shouldn’t drink too many fluids and shouldn’t go to the toilet 4-5 hours beforehand. I couldn’t do that so sticking with FMU for now!

Other OPKs say that afternoon/evening is best but the above still stands - no excess fluids and no trip to the loo for a while beforehand

Thanks @bubblybrit! I have some cheapies from Amazon for now. FMU would be easiest or first thing when I get home from work. Don't think POAS actually at work would be the way forward HmmGrin

Hi everyone! Can I join please 🙂?

Due on tomorrow for withdrawal bleed from finishing last pill packet. Obviously not sure when I'll ovulate and has been a long time since my body has been left to its own devices so we shall see how this first cycle goes!

Will be TTC #1 with h/o endometriosis with laparoscopic ablations, and multiple cryocauteries for cervical polyps and erosion.

@LoveTheBear85. Yeah that’s exactly why I’m not keen on using OPKs in the afternoon. Plus I so much as look at a glass of water and I need to pop to the toilet!

I only got high fertility with clearblue rather than peak fertility which is the one that detects LH surge. So unsure whether I missed it because I used FMU and the LH surge was too low at that time (but the instructions do say FMU) or I just ovulate that month! I don’t think OPKs are totally reliable so continuing to dtd every other day just to be on the safe side!

@bubblybrit I think that really is my main plan tbh. The OPKs are more from nosiness really at the moment.

Hello newbies we've got quite a good bus starting already! Still waiting for af to finish....been looking up the sperm meets egg plan for this month I am determined to get preggers this month after 13 trying! I keep having dreams about positive tests and holding babies I have officially lost it!
