Part the third:

Welcome all anti-fertile fuckers! This is our clique for those trying longer than 6 cycles and are pretty fed up.

Here are our Fucked Off TTC Commandments

  • Thou shall not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shall not give advice to other when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shall not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shall not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shall not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

Our spreadsheet which includes what supplements (and potatoes) we are trying in our journey to motherhood.

Hey ladies. So the appointment was okay. Everyone I spoke with was so lovely. I had my 3D internal US too, I had a 2D one done first (I had 6 follicles in each ovary) they spotted fluid in the right one and so when they switched to 3D they had a proper look and said it was free fluid not tubal (no idea what either means) and that it was nothing to worry about and all in all, it looked fine but she passed it on to a consultant to look at it properly. Then I had to speak to a nurse practitioner who took our medical history, she was so so lovely. Then another nurse took some blood to test for rubella and my AMH levels, booked my OH in for another SA next week then we booked in to go back for a follow-up on 16th January. So I’m no further forward in knowing what the issue is but at least I’m going on the right direction. I hope lol.

Also, the nurse practioner told me that we might still be entitled to NHS funding. I said I knew we wouldn’t be entitled because I have my daughter but she said it’s not necessarily the case and they tend to work on an individual basis so not to rule ourselves out just yet. And she also told me to stop using opks lol

Bubblegum89 · 19/12/2017 19:05

Oh and thank you for all the love, ladies Flowers

QuietTime · 19/12/2017 20:05

Oh bubblegum that's good news! Was thinking of you, so glad they were lovely. I guess it's a little frustrating not to have an answer, but at least nothing's ruled out. And great to hear there's potential for IVF support XXX

Hi pibbee good to hear you've got an appointment. Do you definitely need the SA done first? Mine has had SA but no blood tests Confused Good luck getting OH moving...

Hope others are doing OK - am so looking forward to Friday!

SparkwoodAnd21 · 19/12/2017 20:18

Really strong positive on an opk today. DTD this afternoon, might squeeze in another tomorrow. I’ve an ultrasound on Thursday and DP’s results are due back around Friday. Is it too soon to POAS?!

Whenisitmytime · 19/12/2017 21:36

Hi ladies, congratulations @grumpy, great news!
We got DHs SA results & he has a count of 6 million/ml, so not good at all. So he’s promised to loose weight, stop smoking & drinking come January. So once he got this news he didn’t even want to try this FW! I’m disheartened by it as it would be easier if it was my problem (iykwim)!!
Any one know of any other cures or miracles???
Here’s hoping it’s a good Christmas for us all x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 20/12/2017 00:00

@Whenisitmytime my DH SA sample was done on cd10 showing

Janefx40 · 20/12/2017 08:30

@Bubblegum89 glad you had a positive experience. When do you get your results? Also great that you may have some NHS entitlements.

@Whenisitmytime my OH had low morphology and stopped drinking and had been trying to do some exercise. Morphology doubled in about 4 months. I know sperms samples fluctuate but still pretty good. His count also went up hugely. It actually can work. X

Bubblegum89 · 20/12/2017 17:00

Thanks ladies :)

jane I’ll get my results at my follow-up appointment on 16th January :)

pibbee it was just an internal one for now, a 3D one though (fancy right?)

How are things going grumpy?

QuietTime · 20/12/2017 18:11

Had my appt - was fine, main thing was booking a HyCoSy; going to try to time it for when DH is away for work early next year (need to make sure you're not pregnant - ha! Likely story - so want to minimise 'lost' cycles...). Other than that, everything seemed normal, short/light periods fine, didn't recommend supplements or changes to diet. Sort of wished we could've just been referred for the HyCoSy - felt like an anticlimax, but at least we're in the system, as it were.

Sporting's started, so guess it's roll on cycle 16 or 17. Oh well...bring on the holiday!

QuietTime · 20/12/2017 19:14

P.S. Spotting not sporting! Smile

Bubblegum89 · 20/12/2017 19:24

QuietTime was your appointment at a fertility clinic or the drs? Glad you’re getting somewhere. Slowly but surely lol

QuietTime · 20/12/2017 19:58

Fertility clinic - GP had already referred initial tests (blood tests, SA) bubblegum slowly but surely is right - will get there...

QuietTime · 20/12/2017 19:59

Actually, sorry, the sub-fertility clinic, as it was called Grin

Pibbee · 20/12/2017 20:26

Oh yeah, the delightfully-named subfertility clinic. Mine is the same...

Good need on the HycoSy booking @QuietTime. It all takes sooooo long doesn’t it! I don’t know if I actually need the SA done first, in my referral letter it said they will notify me prior to my appt if any further tests are required.... DH didn’t book his SA today so I shall continue to nag on a daily basis 🙄until it’s done. I just don’t want to rock up and my appt be a waste of time without the SA but I’ll argue my case anyway given that I don’t have huge amounts of time on my side (37). Sorry to hear you have some spotting starting.

I am at the point where I just know deep down it’s not gonna happen. Anyone know what I mean?! I don’t even resent pregnant people at work etc anymore, just cos I think well that’s just not gonna happen for me. I’m kind of almost fine with it (I think. Dunno. I’m clearly lying to myself....)

Whenisitmytime · 20/12/2017 23:26

Thanks @grumpy and @janefx40, a bit of positivity never goes a miss. I’ve no patience left & just want it to happen now!!

bama4 · 20/12/2017 23:55

Hi all

Was here as before under a different name

Took a break and am now back - have just updated the spreadsheet but
Age 23
Ttc #1
Cycle #8
Bfp due 7th Jan - fingers crossed hard for all of you!!

At the moment just dtd using an app to see when I'm ovulating haven't got on well with opks before any other advice??

LexieJean · 22/12/2017 12:24

@bubblegum glad it went ok. Sounds like we’re at the same stage, as is @quiet I think; the delights of being prodded and poked at the sub fertility clinic. sigh I have my HSG booked early Jan & will go in for various blood tests then too. I feel like I’m on pause until the results come back- especially with the no unprotected sex before the HSG. It feels so wrong to be ‘wasting’ a fw!

Welcome back @bama

To all of us who wished and hoped and 🤞and dtd and poas, and those who sadly mc I wish us all a joyous xmas weekend, as much as you can with families asking awkward questions or visiting with children and may there be many MANY +pg in 2018!

You yammers are a lifeline keeping me sane(ish). Thank you xx

MynameisJune · 22/12/2017 16:32

Does anyone ever just feel like giving up. Another bfn this morning and I just don’t know how much longer I can take this. I’m gutted to be starting another year TTC.

Will be back to the GP to further our referral for further testing in the new year. We stopped the process in Oct when I got a bfp and thought I’d be pregnant again by now.

RhiBee29 · 22/12/2017 20:07

@LexieJean what a lovely message x

@MynameisJune I know how you feel 10mths and 1mc and I feel like throwing the towel in, every cycle is harder, if no bfp at 12mths I think I'll have to make a decision on calling it a day or seeking medical help.

MynameisJune · 22/12/2017 21:28

@rhibee I’m really struggling to motivate myself to carry on. We’ve been TTC no2 since April but we haven’t used any birth control since 2008 when we got married. In that time I’ve been pregnant twice, once with DD after 6 years and once in Oct which ended in MC. That’s how we got our testing even though we’ve ony actively been TTC no2. When I told the Dr our history she just referred us straight away. Had bloods and pelvic scan which were all normal. Just got to push the fertility clinic referral through now. I’m just so unutterably sad about it all right now.

I’d definitely go and see the GP sooner rather than later.

WonkyDonk87 · 23/12/2017 12:24

Family get together for my niece's birthday.... already been asked if I'm pg by my brother, and offered baby clothes 'just in case' by a well meaning sister in law. Lord give me gin strength ConfusedSmile

LovePinaColada · 23/12/2017 13:40

Gosh sounds hideous @WonkyDonk87 - people can be so insensitive without even realising! Christmas is the worst time of year - none of my family know we are trying so fingers crossed I escape comment free, who knows!

Wishing everyone an absolutely amazing Christmas, 2018 will be the year for us all, I just know it! X

WonkyDonk87 · 23/12/2017 14:25

Thanks Pina, it's all done with best intentions luckily Smile
Hope everyone has a lovely festive few days x

Bubblegum89 · 24/12/2017 10:42

Hey ladies,

I’ll be super busy tomorrow so just thought I’d pop on and say I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and you all get pissed (except you grumpy don’t be getting pissed) and eat lots of yams and have lots of fun :)

Af is due tomorrow for me and I know it’s going to show up because I couldn’t stand my OH yesterday and was ready to murder him for simply breathing. Please pray that it’s not a super crampy one because I won’t have my Christmas Day ruined!

If you’re testing soon, good luck and if you get af then eat lots of chocolate, even for breakfast x

TheGrumpySquirrel · 24/12/2017 10:53

Enjoy all the wine and prosecco ladies! @Bubblegum89 hope AF stays away and you get a Christmas BFP!
